Be careful when choosing fitted sheet!

I was in between other extendable day beds and this one, but this one looked more solid and durable, also easier to install.Indeed, it took me about 45 minutes to assemble each bed by myself. It looks good and very stable. Light enough to lift and put on top of each other. Can be used as 2 seperate single beds. 1 single bed or 1 double bed. It can even be used as sofa with adding a couple cushions!Ikea website recommended me the wrong fitted sheet though. I have added this (actually the one including 12cm mattresses) to my shopping cart and added a fitted sheet popped up when I added it. However that was a fitted sheet for much bigger matresses, not the correct one that is for day-beds. Therefore unfortunately it looks very loose. not fitting at all :(

Bed frame broken already

I bought the bed as it is a space saving design and I don't have much space in my room. The bed is not used as much since I bought it and it is already broken. If the slatted frame broke, it would still be understandable as it can be replaced and the bed can be used again. But since the side beam of the bed cracked, the bed can unfortunately no longer be used. I'm really sad that I spent so much money on such terrible quality furniture. I expected it to last at least a few years since it is not used everyday. Sadly that is not the case.

I bought this bedframe a year ago and it was easy to install and the appearance was not so bad. However, yesterday, just as a regular routine i went to bed and the moment I was about to lay down, one of the side frame just broke in half. I was panicked as did not know what happened. My back was hurt so bad. It was still terrifying just thinking about it now. I then checked the bedframe if nails/screws were loose or something I installed not properly but no, the side frame was broken in half right at the joint. It is not an one piece board but 2 manufactured-joint pieces. I think IKEA did not glue it probably if not no glue at all. I’m still so frustrated that I did not dare to sleep on the other not-yet-broken bed. I know I can’t expect much from a cheap bedframe but the no-glue joint is quite out of my expectation. Hence, even though I have bought a lot of IKEA products that I really satisfied with, this stackable bedframe was poorly manufactured and I DO NOT recommend it!

So I can't speak to the longevity of this product as I just bought it.However, this is the easiest Ikea product I've ever put together. I did both beds in 2h and that included letting my 5 year old help, making and taking a lunch break and being generally distracted by two kids.I love the idea of this. Now we will see if it is as practical as it appears to be. It looks nice in our space, though we put a much thicker mattress on the top bed and that does make it quite tall, still works ok though.

Great for small bedrooms!
24 June 2021

I bought this for my 8 year old daughter. We have such a small space to work with in her bedroom. It made it hard when she had friend's over and the loft beds are awkward to make. She loves this set up as a "couch" during the day as she calls it! Then when friends are over it can be used side by side. It is fidgety to join together with the clip. We do not even bother. You do need 2 people to lift off but the bed is very light. Definitely recommend!

Great idea, could still be improved
29 December 2017

Got it for our guest room as we loved the idea of flexibility of using it for two guests, be them couple or not, or one. Assembly was easy enough and took two men a little over an hour. When unstacked and placed next to each other, the design is in such a way that the mattresses are as flush as possible, leaving minimal space between them. And the strap helps keep them close to each other. The size becomes almost king sized so keep that in mind when purchasing bedding - our queen sized duvet only just fits on top of it leaving no hangover. The only problem I have with it is that the beds are pretty low, even when stacked as a single/daybed/sofa, it’s still pretty low. The only problem I have with it is that the beds are pretty low, even when stacked as a single/daybed/sofa, it’s still pretty low. So this is where I can see lots of improvement in this design, I’m sure you can easily make the legs longer on both beds, hence also allowing them to accommodate thicker mattresses over 5 inches and giving them more of a bed feel. When the beds are installed, you’re pretty much floor level which Isn’t always the most comfortable when trying to get in and out of the bed or making the bed. We also thought of getting thicker mattresses anyway and when stacking them just put one mattress on top of the other, but decided otherwise. Though that would’ve helped with the height solution.

Leg split in half and they refused to replace it.
11 October 2022

Got this for our space bedroom. We used it 3x. My niece was sleeping and it came crashing down. A leg split in 2. I called to see about having a replacement leg sent and was told it was past the year warrenty so they would not send one nor could I purchase one. Separately, it's not aesthetically pleasing - made the room look college dorm'esk when stacked and is very low to the floor when not stacked.

Mattress slips off side.
10 January 2023

I purchased these 2021 and have used them as a guest bed option. The concept is great however I find as single beds the mattress slips off the frame on the lower side (it's lower to accommodate the double bed option). This can cause a restless night sleep as in can leave you feeling insecure on the bed and gives that "I'm falling off" feeling. For the price I do recommend these as a good temporary option, but for long term they might not be suitable.

Squeaky, noisy and broke slats broke
6 March 2022

I bought this bed with firm mattresses with the intention of using it as a floor bed for my children. But within a few months of use they started making horrible squeaky noises which kept waking my daughter up. Very uncomfortable and waste of money. I wish I could return but I missed the return period. Very unhappy with this purchase and it does not satisfy my purpose of buying. I've just put the mattress on the floor directly now and these bed frames are lying stacked in my living room serving nothing at all. Don't know what to do with them. 😕

Very confusing instructions
17 December 2017

We followed the instruction and got an uneven bed, so my husband finally installed with A C A C legs meaning he took other A C from package #2 to make an even bed, then with B D B D legs to make another even bed, then the two beds are not even level meaning one bed is slightly higher than another one. I read another user's review and couldn't figure out how he made a king bed as he didn't give more details. The bed sample we saw at IKEA are even, and I don't know how they installed. We got package #1 and package #2, if we only got two same packages, then we would get two uneven beds unless we got four same packages, then we could get two even height beds and return other two packages. If any smarter buyer later find out how to make two even beds and even height beds, please reply to my review or write a new review so I can find out why we failed. I wrote this detail review so other buyers won't spend few hours to figure out a twin bed that is supposed to be very easy to assemble. The wood pegs can be easily put into wrong holes, then hard to get them out; but they can be taken out for sure with care and property tools, don't need to drill and damage to get wood pegs out. The twin mattresses I put on were tightly fit in there meaning if the two beds are even height it probably can be made a king bed, but I didn't put them together as current two beds are not even height. It might be small gap in between two beds even the height are even. I don't need two even height beds so it didn't bother me, as I would use them as two separate beds so each person can get down to floor easily than the double twin beds one pull out from another.
