I love these tights, they are super comfortable, warm but still very breathable. I wear them hiking but also under my regular clothes at work where the temperature ranges from Arctic to Saharan between rooms and they cope incredibly well. My only gripe is that they seem to be the right fit around my bum and waist (a challenge as my waist is two sizes smaller than my hips) but slip down over time. That's absolutely fine for every day wear but resulted in bunching around my ankles inside my hiking boots. I could not find a way to stop this from happening and it was so uncomfortable I ended up stripping off in the woods and taking them off. I'm not really sure what to do to remedy this but may try shortening the tights.

These leggings are my new favorite. Light merino base layers are my favorite go-to for skiing, kayaking, hiking, or just under jeans for cold winter days and these are the best I've found. It's nice and lightweight so they fit well under mid layers easily but still add a lot of warmth and breathe well too. I normally wear size 36-38 pants and according to the size charts that put me between XL and XXL so I ordered both and they both fit very well. The XL are just more form fitting where the XXL are fitted but not snug and both work well so keeping both sizes. Also the cut lands perfectly on the waist without sagging in the crotch. Some other brands will sag if you don't pull them up super high, so that these are actually cut well is a huge plus. The 200 weight wool ... MoreThese leggings are my new favorite. I don't know what posessed me to spend this much on long underwear, but astonishingly I feel like they are actually worth the price. They keep my legs nice and warm and they are so soft and cozy that when I wear them under my clothes my jeans feel a little more like pajama bottoms. I actually get sad when it's too warm outside to wear them. They seem durable - I've only had them for a month, but I've worn them amost nonstop (hand washing and air drying) and they've held up very well with no pilling, which is surprising for wool. They are definitely more of a long underwear than a legging - they are nice and thin so they do not feel bulky under clothes, but I would not feel comfortable wearing them as pants by themselves in public.Fit-wise, according to the chart I ... MoreI don't know what posessed me to spend this much on long underwear, but astonishingly I feel like they are actually worth the price. I got a small and they fit perfectly - form-fitting for wearing under clothes while not being too tight. I would say if you are in between sizes like I am go with the smaller one.

My wife is the most cold natured person I know. She's also the most thrifty person I know and she often buys "cheap". She is planning a trip to New York City with our daughters and she wanted thermal leggings that were thin, comfortable, and warm outside, but could be worn indoors throughout the day without being unbearably hot indoors. I own a pair of Icebreaker 200 Oasis for Men (as well as tops) and I live in them in the winter. I ordered her a pair of the 200 Oasis Leggings and she couldn't believe how comfortable they are. Thin enough to be worn under her clothes unlike her older, bulky counterparts. Sufficiently warm outside in the cold elements and comfortably "toasty" indoors. She loves how comfortable they are! Happy wife. Happy life. She deserves the best, ... MoreMy wife is the most cold natured person I know. She's also the most thrifty person I know and she often buys "cheap". The 200 weight leggings run smaller than the lighter weights in this brand. The material is less stretchy and the rise is 2 inches less than for similarly styled Women's Classic All-Season Merino Lace Base Layer Bottom. This means the waist comes in at the hip bones (on me, I'm 5'8" 133 lbs) to produce a bit of a muffin-top effect. That being said the waist feels secure and stays in place when squatting. The legs are nice and long, which is great (my inseam is 32“) because when a wore a size small (before the pandemic ;( ) the legs weren’t long enough. The fabric is true to the colour displayed, is soft and comfortable next to skin, and my skin is sensitive to lower quality wools. Overall, this is an excellent product and I trust Smartwool quality.
Great merino wool underwear.. used in low temperature conditions. Kept me warm and comfortable all day long while traveling cold windy and wet Scottish Highlands .Normally I wear Large size clothes, I'm 182cm 83kg.I've ordered Medium and it fits me nicely. Probably Large size would be great too but I preferred tighter next to skin fit. After first wash it look and feels as new.Very happy with my underwearI highly recommend to anyone.
I've loved these leggings since I bought them :) they are snug, comfy and meet my expectations for warmth. They do however not meet my expectations in durability :(.I've bought them about a year ago and worn them regularly (but not daily) in wintertime, sometimes in spring and fall and never in summertime. It was normal wear for extra warmth, so not put under a lot of stress from extreme use.About a month ago in noticed the elastic band at the waist starts to wrinkle and soms seams are tearing. I wasn't too happy about that, but ok. Now I see actual holes in the fabric coming through though! This is (imho) not ok. I had expected this product to be more durable (other Icebreakers as well :( )They've been either handwashed or in a machine with other wools on ... MoreI've loved these leggings since I bought them :) they are snug, comfy and meet my expectations for warmth. They do however not meet my expectations in durability :(.I've bought them about a year ago and worn them regularly (but not daily) in wintertime, sometimes in spring and fall and never in summertime. I had expected this product to be more durable (other Icebreakers as well :( )They've been either handwashed or in a machine with other wools on the wool program with a mild detergent (Marseille soap) and even got a soak in a lanoline bath every once in a while. So I can't imagine the tear originating from this.
I am obsessed with Icebreaker - can't stop buying their base layers! It's kind of a problem. I'm an XS in all their tops. I'm 5'3, petite!, about 112, slightly curvy - unfortunately, the waistband on these pants was just too tight for me, although the legs fit perfectly. Perfectly! And the material is probably nicer than the REI ones I have. But the waistband created a bit of a muffin top situation. It probably would have been OK, as I would definitely wear these UNDER a second layer of pants. But $100 for "ok under something else" didn't seem ideal. I saw at least one other review mentioning the tight waistband (so I'm glad it's not just me!).My other baselayer pants - North Face, REI, are more forgiving + flattering at the waist. I may try the small next time ... MoreI am obsessed with Icebreaker - can't stop buying their base layers! It's kind of a problem. I'm an XS in all their tops.
