A fun for all fast paced game anyone can play

Well done exploding kittens! We played the “you’re a little crabby” game at our work Christmas party and we had so much fun, I love a good board game and this was perfect for a light social gathering with people who love games and are slightly competitive - it isn’t a complex game, so it works anytime and anywhere. The secret signals between partners were fun to watch for and call out - it is a fast paced game that requires attention to pick up on the signals, or catch your partners attention. 6 players was a lot of fun, 10 would be wild and perfectly chaotic! I can’t wait to play this at the family holiday parties! It is a quick paced game that is short, fun, not so complex than anyone can play and have a great time.

Pairs determine secret signals and fake signals to let each other know when they've achieved 4 of a kind, without tipping off other pairs. Those with the most crabs win the round. Fun illustrations from The Oatmeal and the puns are hilarious as are the silly signals. This is a rousing game that's suitable for all ages. The little crabs are easy to get lost, though, but they're more fun than playing chips. This game is quick for folks to learn. The more pairs, the longer the play, but it's overall a brief and engaging game for good, clean fun!

Fun concept, but clunky gameplay
27 December 2022

I was very intrigued by the concept of I’m a Little Crabby and thought having teams and secret signals would make this a fun party game. Unfortunately I was wrong. The concept of the game is definitely a good one, but the overall gameplay felt clunky and awkward. Only one side is playing at a time and they are switching their cards out with ones in the center of the table (the ocean) to try and make a matching set in their hand. There’s so few cards to switch with on the table though that it makes it incredibly awkward. When you’re done switching, you just kind of sit there until the rest of your side decides they are finished switching. There’s so few cards to switch with on the table though that it makes it incredibly awkward. When you’re done switching, you just kind of sit there until the rest of your side decides they are finished switching. When everyone is done, you flip the crabbing license to point towards the other side and then it’s their turn. If no one wants any of the cards in the “ocean”, then you discard them and lay out 4 new cards from the deck and play proceeds. You are supposed to come up with a secret signal to let your teammate(s) know that you have a matching set. If they call it out correctly, you earn a crab (a point), if a member from the opposing team calls it out, you lose a point and have to give them one of your crabs. Trying to determine when everyone is done switching cards and flipping the crabbing license feels so clunky. Then deciding whether or not anyone wants the cards laying there, and if not, then picking them up and laying out new ones just becomes awkward. This made the gameplay feel choppy, and after all this we often forgot the whole point of the game - doing your secret signal when you have a match. Exploding Kittens typically makes great games and I always love their uniqueness and attention to detail (like the little cheeks on the back of the crabs). However, I think they focused more on creating the random crab theme for I’m a Little Crabby rather than creating a fun game that’s smooth and easy to play. Additionally, this game shouldn’t cost any more than $9.99. It’s just a deck of cards and some crab tokens.

This game is fun for the whole family. You get a partner, come up with a secret signal, and when you get four-of-a-kind with your cards you give that secret signal. If your partner notices the signal and yells out the special words you get a point and get a crab token, but if your partner thinks they seen the signal and yells the special words but you don’t have four-of-a-kind you lose a crab token. If someone other than your partner thinks your giving a signal and yells out the special words first and you do in fact have four-of-a-kind, they get one of your crab tokens. If they’re wrong and you don’t have four-of-a-kind you get to steal one of their crab tokens. The game ends when the crab tokens are all gone and the team with the most tokens wins. Great Bonding Experience!
10 December 2022

This game was played at a holiday party and was a great bonding experience. I could see it being entertaining at a work party environment or family unions, as up to 10 players can play at once. It encourages teamwork, as players must cooperate to interpret signals. The points system is competitive, but not overly complicated. The game solves the odd number of players with varying point systems, so that 3 player teams will not obtain more points than 2 player teams. There are noted methods to break ties. The game is rated for ages 7 , but I could see it being hard for younger children to try to interpret the signals. It does seem more fun with a greater number of players, as it is then more distracting and signals aren't noticed as easily. Players can sometimes "count cards" if they have a good memory, because everyone sees what is picked up and the opposition can keep track of your cards. Overall, this was a great game for families and work parties! It was even more fun with a little alcohol!

I’m A Little Crabby is a game of secret hand signals, suspicious friends, and hidden identities. Pick a partner and establish a secret signal, then collect a set of four matching cards. Once you get a matching set, try to tell your partner by using your secret signal. Be careful - if your opponents intercept your signal first, you lose a point. Hide everything and suspect everyone in this game of secret signals. Okay, this game is so much fun! I thought it would be a bit immature, but after playing for just a few minutes everyone was laughing. I love that it can be enjoyed by so many different age groups. My 12-year-old son had just as much fun as my 50 dad. And it's a game that even when you lose is fun. List most of their games, you can watch a video of the instructions rather than read them which is helpful. The concept is simple; establish a secret signal between your partner and then try and get 4 of a kind while getting your partner to catch your signal before the other team(s). I found it to be repetitive. Once you're going for a particular card, you're not switching out anymore and just keep waiting for the "one" which lets everyone else know you're close to your 4 of a kind so the second that you do find that card, everyone knows that you'll be ready to give your signal. We stuck it out and kept playing and it get better once we got creative and started trying to trick the other team into thinking we had 4 of a kind and were giving the signal. The directions for l’m a little Crabby is a little confusing at first, but once you start playing it you soon realize how it’s supposed to be played. This game is SO MUCH fun! We had such a blast playing this game and the guests even came back the next day to play it again! This game is fun for people of all ages and everyone will enjoy trying to call out the other teams and earn your crab tokens. You make secret guest items to give clues to your teammates, but be careful not to give your clue away! If the other team calls you out first, they get the point. Love this game! This is definitely a new family fun filled game favorite! We will play this game over and over. Highly recommend for a lots of laughs and quick play fun.

We had a wonderful time playing this new game called I’m A Little Crabby. It’s all about collecting matching cards and secretly signaling to your partner that you have a match. If you get caught by your opponent then you lose a point. Whoever has the most crabs 🦀 wins. We ended up not following the rules and changed out signals up during the game. But it doesn’t really matter as long as you have fun. If you enjoy lots of laughter, yelling, and sore losers then this game is for you! I this this game is perfect for ages 7 and up! We had so much fun playing this game. Can’t wait for the next game night.
