These are my first ever good quality, name brand, top end (gaming) headphones/headset. Love how these are so comfortable on my ears and they have a good weight on them (not too heavy nor light) - the entire headset is made with such good quality that you can feel. Worth the price and has superb sound, esp the base sounds! Good for music as on top of gaming/voice chatting. I like the detachable microphone as well very convenient and yes, it is stable! Make sure to fully connect the detachable headphone or else it’ll fall (I made that mistake my first time but it is overall stable/doesn’t fall). I didn’t know HyperX is also from HP which is amazing (as an HP user too). Love the audio adapter? Besides that the design is gorgeous - I have purchased the red one. Did my research on which headset to get and I’m super happy and satisfied with my Cloud Alpha. Wasn’t too expensive for me either. Thanks for the good product and sound, everything about this headset!

It's very easy to differentiate between a momentary press to check the battery level and a 1-second press for power on/off. There is just no need to sit there for what feels like a long time holding the button. Or add a dedicated power button so there is no need for a delay. The mic mute button would be better off on the base of the mic so your thumb finds it easily and when the mic is removed, so is the mute button. The red LED when the mic is muted is nice for other people to see if my mic is active (I can just barely see it in peripheral vision) How about a voice prompt like other headsets have that says "mic on" and "mic off"?> Add firmware updates to allow installation of different user interface voices. The male voice is OK but not what I would pick.

This thing has confusing battery life. As in, I’m confused as to how it lasts this long without having an extended battery pack hanging off the back or something.I’ve used it for basically three weeks straight and barely gotten it down to 60%, playing multiple hours per day. No exaggeration.Sound quality is probably an 8/10, when I’m not gaming, I use some studio open-back headphones, which have a better clarity/soundstage, but for gaming this does the trick and even has some decent mids and bass that is absent in a lot of wireless headsets.Quality feels solid. Not too heavy, and not so light that it feels cheap or breakable. The adjustment for the head strap tends to stay in place very well, on other headphones I sometimes have to adjust them back to the ... MoreThis thing has confusing battery life. The adjustment for the head strap tends to stay in place very well, on other headphones I sometimes have to adjust them back to the proper size each time I put it on, but not on these. Padding on the top is not the most comfortable, but it’s fine. I also wish it came in different colors, not a big fan of the red on black that HyperX uses on all their products, but it’s not the end of the world. The only other negative criticism I would have of it is that the mic audio quality doesn’t sound the best, you’re certainly not going to be using it for recording podcasts or other high-quality audio, but for chatting in discord or games, it does the trick.HyperX, quit holding out on us and release this super top-secret battery technology so that we can use it in electric vehicles /s
I really wanted to like the headphones but it just seems like it was overhyped.I received my first pair and I thought they were defective because the sound quality on Windows sounds low. I literally have to turn my volume up to 80 -90 to hear my game. I exchanged them for the same pair to see if they were defective.I decided to give the two week period to see how I like them. The sound quality is still low for me. There is a lot of bass to them in my opinion and it can be too much because I hear a static. Even when I chat on discord with my friends I hear static as they talk.I don’t see these headset as comfortable. I think it is due to the clamping force being about 1 lb. I played a game for 3 hours straight and I have this really bad ear pain right below my ear. I believe there is a latency as well. My boyfriend and I play games together and we talk on discord I hear him outside my headphones before it comes to my headphones then he wonders why I lag in responding.Personally, I just don’t think it’s worth the price point for multiple reasons.I heard it’s just best to go with the Cloud 2 only because they are basically the same thing but apparently more comfortable and who needs 300 hours. You’re basically paying $100 more for 300 hour battery.
As someone who has been playing games online with friends for about 10 years now i have gone through more headsets than I would like to admit or that i can even remember (mostly due to not properly taking care of them or being unlucky). Around 5 years ago i got my first pair of hyper x headphones ( Cloud II wired ) and they were probably my favorite pair i have ever owned…. Until my dog broke them:( fast forward to present day and 3 or 4 more mics and i had a mic that worked fine and did everything I needed it too but i was ready for an upgrade. I did quite a bit of research on mics below $300 and remembered how much i loved those Hyperx headphones from the past and decided to go get a better pair (hyper x cloud alpha). I did quite a bit of research on mics below $300 and remembered how much i loved those Hyperx headphones from the past and decided to go get a better pair (hyper x cloud alpha). The main things i wanted form this headset was better audio, comfort, battery life, and a mic that doesn’t pick up as much background audio but sadly it only did half that. Audio is a big factor to me especially because I play games were audio is important like rainbow six siege and these have good sound quality but are just far too quiet, I’m not sure if my old pair were far too loud but either way I would them louder. My other issue is the mic which at first I had no problems with but for almost the last 2 months it has been cutting out and even disconnecting rarely. This a problem I’ve only experienced with $20 - $50 headsets and it is highly aggravating that a $200 mic from a company as good/popular as this one is even having this issue. I plan on updating them and or returning them for the same pair to see if it makes a difference but sadly if neither of those solutions work I sadly will not be coming back to Hyperx for any headphones.
So I feel 2 stars is a bit low of an overall review but I can explain. So to start the headset is very comfortable even as a person who wears glasses I never get that ache in the side of my head after playing for way longer than I should be playing. The headset really does have the greatest battery life of any other headset I've had and I've been through way too many headsets of all the brands.I don't use the mic on the headset so I cannot attest to how the quality is on that but I could only imagine that it's just like any other headset mic out there. And overall the thing is a solid headset I would recommend it and hope that they don't get the one flaw that I cannot stand with my experience using this headset... Pretty frequently I get a static charge that can last 1 to 5 minutes straight and most of the time it is when I'm in the middle of a match of some sort. It seems to me the issue only occurs when there are so many different sounds happening all at once like in the middle of a match with a lot of actions, I'll get the static charge, and I'm totally out of the round because I can't hear anything and cannot decipher my left and rights. and it's on all the games I play not just one or at a random time it's when those scenarios happen. But I mean overall besides the fact you'll be surprised mid-round of any game it seems this headset is solid.
Good Points: Battery life is insane, days of continuous playback. It also tells you its battery level rather than giving you 2 minutes before it turns off as your only warning.Sound quality is decent in my unqualified opinion.Headset is comfortable and just large enough to fit pretty much fully over my ears, decent for wearing for good lengths of time.Good range for the signal, about 10m or so.Mute button lights up the mic so you have a reminder in vision that you're muted, very helpful.Removable mic.I'm able to use it well for work and play.Improvement Points: I probably couldn't wear it all day, it would eventually get uncomfortable and a touch heavy, that's a big ask, though.Mic cable doesn't stay really where you put it, move it too far out of ... MoreGood Points: Battery life is insane, days of continuous playback. For the price this headset probably can't be beaten for build and sound quality, this is my second cloud alpha and third hyperx headset as my others lasted for years under heavy use. They're also comfortable, they don't clamp down on your head with force and the cushions make a decent enough seal even over big ears.Great highs and mids, not the best bass but it's there. It compensates for that by having a pretty good 3d sound with the speakers being a little further away from your ear, so you can crank the volume up and get the bass without having the highs be too loud. The mic is good quality too, no buzzing on wired controllers. I've had 2 different models of hyperx headsets on 2 different wired controllers and none of them make a buzz or static noise even if they're years old.I had a different hyperx headset between my first cloud and this one, both of those lasted years, my last one was dropped multiple times and still works fine just the casing has cracked a little and is held together with tape. My first cloud broke after 3-4 years as I neglected to clean the small speaker wire when I cleaned the ear cups and headband, resulting in the wire hardening over time and eventually splitting. Knowing that, my last hyperx headset has the same design so I just cleaned that and it lasted as a result.Nothing else in this price range tends to last longer than months under regular use before it atleast starts to degrade, half of this is metal so cheap plastic isn't even a factor and the speakers can take years of abuse without even starting to crackle. I would go as far as to say there isn't a single other headset that can do all of that under 3 digits
review made with PS5.Nice warm, rich, clear and deep sound.Overall the bass/mids/treble quality is more than fair for that category and the ingame experience is great.reliable connexion with low latency.3d sound works rather well for supported games.PS5, plug'n'play, works out of the box.No battery status displayed on the console ui though.
