Have owned this laptop for 2 weeks after PBTech recommended it as they could not source the HP Probook 650 that I originally ordered. This laptop does not come with an AC power brick adapter (it does have the port, just nothing to plug into it) instead it comes with a USB type C adapter for laptop power. There is only one type C port so you cannot power the laptop and use the type C port to plug in an external device (like a second external monitor) To use the USB type C port for something other than power you have to purchase an additional AC power brick or you will be constantly unplugging the external device to charge the laptop. Recently I have had ASUS Laptops but after a few problems I decided to change back to using HP. This laptop is everything I expect from a good work related laptop. Its quiet, fast, backlit keyboard works well. I did have trouble getting the laptop to charge from powerbanks in the USB-C connector. Found out that you need to have a powerbank with high amp output on the USB. Sometimes referred to as USB-c PD.I bought the Cygnet ChargeUp Pro and this changes the laptop fine. The built in Ethernet connector is a little hard to get Ethernet plug into, but at least it has a built in one.Generally, I am very happy with this laptop

Specs for Probook 450 G9 Business are good, but let down by a very mediocre webcam. It is possible it was faulty but when compared side-by-side with a 10 year old ProBook 4740s, the new laptop showed a very poor image, and the old ProBook looked sharp in comparison. We returned it thinking it was faulty but the technician said that they were all like that now because of the thin frame. In that state it was not viable to use for business conference calls using zoom or teams so it had to be returned - which was a bit more of a drama than it should have been, especially as it was within 24 hours of purchase. If you dont want to use the webcam for business, then its a good middle of the road laptop with plenty of performance and a nice screen.

A+ - Works like it should. Cool Running.
11 April 2023

Works well, Battery could last longer though. Runs cool. Easy upgrade to 2TB SSD. Big improvement over my old ProBook that I purchased from Micro Center several years ago. Very happy with the purchase. I was going to buy the i5 version, but realized it is not a touch-screen. So decided the i7 with the touch was the way I wanted to go. I used it every day for work and for 10 hours a day. So I feel your getting a good "Real Life" assessment. Hope you find it helpful.

Excellent Laptop with Lots of Recovery Features
12 August 2023

I love this Laptop which has so many features that it's amazing especially all the HP apps that are installed with Windows 11 and I was able to reformat the 1 TB SSD card with no problems and didn't need a Key either like you do with the new Acer's. Unfortunately a few nights ago the Laptop got very hot and I think it burned out the Motherboard. I called HP and they quickly sent me a box to send back to them for repairs. After it cooled down I tried to turn it on and it would not get past the POST and kept on looping, so I don't know why it did this. Since it's under Warranty HP support was awesome with initial diagnostics and they recommended to return the item for Free repairs. They are making Computers so small now that their isn't enough room for the CPU to cool ... MoreI love this Laptop which has so many features that it's amazing especially all the HP apps that are installed with Windows 11 and I was able to reformat the 1 TB SSD card with no problems and didn't need a Key either like you do with the new Acer's. I am now using my 16 year old Acer with Windows 10 and it runs Great. I love the older computers as they were built to last. These new computers are somewhat disposable like Phones.

Great features. I'm very pleased.

I'm very happy to have purchased the HP ProBook 450 G9 15.6" Laptop Computer. However, the salesman suggested that I obtain the store credit card in order to save 5%. I applied and you can imagine my surprise when I was REJECTED! My home is paid for, and I have 2 cars, both of which are paid for. My credit score is in the 800's. When I received the letter of explanation of why I was rejected, it was stated that they couldn't verify my information. Seriously? Now there is a record on my credit score that I was rejected for a credit card. I'm not pleased and I would like that inquiry/rejection removed from my credit repord.

HP Probook 450
6 October 2023

I just retired and I needed a PC for daily use. I was using the ZBook fury at work and wanted a scaled back HP that could use the HP dock and dual external monitors. Perfect. The Probook has a solid case and display, spillproof, backlit keyboard, 10 key and a superfast boot with the SSD. No performance issues to date. The unit is also MUCH lighter than the ZBook. I would recommend even for a work PC. More than enough for home PC use.

Not the best
18 August 2023

So far it’s okay but it was twice as expensive as my HP Pavilion. The only reason I chose to get this one is because the HP Pavilion only comes in touch screen and I hate touch screen. This current laptop is not as fast as it states. Also, I did the mandatory update on it and then was forced to put in a recovery key because it reset itself. They get more expensive with less performance and more Pre-loaded bs. Also, will be forced into windows 11. Also annoying that the keyboard is black instead of silver.

Replacement for a 450 G3
29 October 2022

I've had this laptop for a couple of days. It's worked pretty well out of the box. I'm replacing an HP ProBook 450 G3 I bought 5.5-ish years ago. I liked that laptop well enough so I figured why not buy another one, and then Microcenter offered a deal on this so I jumped on it.The 11th gen i5 and 16GB of RAM should be enough for most business, web surfing, and general use, plus it'll run Win11 whenever you decide to upgrade, so that's nice. HP offers a pretty useful suite of diagnostic software onboard as well. Other than that the system is pretty lean and comes with minimal "bloat".This laptop has integrated Intel Xe graphics. You can probably run some older games on it OK but this is really not a "gaming" laptop and I don't expect that kind of graphics ... MoreI've had this laptop for a couple of days. You can probably run some older games on it OK but this is really not a "gaming" laptop and I don't expect that kind of graphics performance out of it.The one serious downside to this laptop is that the SSD is a bit small at 256GB, and that doesn't really make sense given that the machine has a healthy 16GB RAM. (Common RAM/SSD configs these days seem to be 8GB/256GB or 16GB/500GB.) A more minor consideration is that it doesn't have the micro-SD card slot referred to in the description. USB card readers are cheap enough, and I have one, but it's just an extra thing you have to shlep around with you. Because of both of those things (mostly the small SSD) I'm dinging this otherwise fine laptop one star.

Value for the money for the mobile business user
22 July 2023

So far very happy. What I really appreciate is the build quality. A robust case, nice keyboard and so on -- a definite step up from more entry level notebooks for not a whole lot more money -- say, around $75 to $100. While I am careful when I carry it about, it is clearly made to hold up nicely when schlepped about (by an adult as opposed to a school kid ...). Granted, it is not a robust police car grade unit, but it works for me. As for tech specs, such are not my thing. My uses are not power user uses but I do need its 16 GB CPU memory for some of my needs, its display is fine by me, etc. I wish it had a memory card reader but I have an old external reader for the very few times I would like to use a memory card -- can't have it all.
