Hot Wheels Unleashed Xbox One/Series X|S

If you like Arcade style racing games, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with this one. There hasn't been too many good Arcade Racers on Xbox recently. Cruisn' Blast recently released for Switch is Excellent, but my Xbox was feeling a little left out in the Arcade Racing Category. Enter Hot Wheels Unleashed.....Pros- Graphics are Excellent, Framerate is Excellent, Cars actually look like hot wheels (pretty cool).- Lots of Hot Wheels Cars to Unlock, Customizable Cars Options are Robust & There's a Crib/Apartment Unlockables available too.- Racing, Drifting, Boosting are all a lot of fun (There is a learning curve, Unlocking & Upgrading Cars is a necessity to win later races)- The tracks are all awesome Hot Wheels inspired tracks, there's lots of shortcuts ... MoreIf you like Arcade style racing games, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with this one. This was a bit disappointing because the game could use the extra content out of the gate.- Missing jumps in certain areas can you leave you high & dry. Missing jumps is killer if you play on Normal difficulty or above. Although I love the design of the tracks, they can be obnoxious at times. If you miss a jump, you'll most likely have to tap the Y button to respawn on the race track. This mechanic is pretty standard in most racing games, but if you miss a jump in this game it's almost automatic that you are going to have to restart the race. Missing jumps is often very costly & can be frustrating at times.- This game is probably a few updates away from realizing it's full potentialAs far as Arcade Racing Style Games go on the Xbox, I'd have to say that this is one of the better ones. It's not Forza Horizon, it's not Cruisn' Blast, but it definitely carves out it's own unique place somewhere in between in the Arcade Racing Genre.

From Milestone, the Italian creator of the Screamer series and the more recent Ride motorbike games comes this fun, heavily licensed game.Don't be fooled by the toy car aesthetic, this is an arcade racer with accessible but deep gameplay, rewarding practice with giddying performance. The developer's decision to fully embrace the Hot Wheels reality and keep everything to scale really gives this game a Micro Machines vibe and makes it stand out from its peers. For a game with such tiny cars, it's surprising then that draw distance is so important. The track design is amazing as it snakes around, over and under everyday objects and you can see curves, loops and chicane off in the distance. The photo editor is fun to play with too, as can be seen by my attached ... MoreFrom Milestone, the Italian creator of the Screamer series and the more recent Ride motorbike games comes this fun, heavily licensed game.Don't be fooled by the toy car aesthetic, this is an arcade racer with accessible but deep gameplay, rewarding practice with giddying performance. This game is fun. The moment Snoopy on his doghouse passed me on my left, I thought this is cool as heck - I'm racing against the World War I Flying Ace. For the gameplay, one neat quirk is that when you are airborne (and trust me, you will be) you can actually control the way the nose of your car is pointed. Most racing games, when you leave the ground, you fly through the air with no control like you would in the real world. In this one, you can control if land with your nose down, chassis flat, or nose up. I highly recommend this game as one to add to your variety of racing games.
