Hoover CleanSlate Pet Carpet & Upholstery Spot Cleaner

We had had our furniture cleaned by a professional service and they could not get the stains out of our 2 year old cream performance linen sectional sofa. My sister-in-law was visiting and said her daughter uses this Hoover to clean up after her dog and loves it, but uses Dawn dish soap as a milder cleaning agent. I thought I'd give it a try since my latest quote from another company for the sofa and 6 dining chairs was over $300. It was like magic! The sofa looks new again! Yes, it took hours of cleaning and recleaning, but that will not be case as we can now stay on top of any stains that occur. The white performance linen dining chairs look fabulous also. A great investment for great results. Highly recommend!

The Hoover CleanSlate Pet Spot Cleaner is the best and fastest cleaner I've ever used! I currently own another brand's pet spot cleaner, as well as a carpet cleaner/vacuum and neither of these compare to Hoover's CleanSlate Pet Spot Cleaner! The CleanSlate is very easy to set up: simply remove the solution chamber, fill with water to the desired level (indicators for small and large areas), add the appropriate amount of cleaning solution (an easy measuring cup is provided and stores conveniently on top of the solution bottle), close the cap, insert the chamber back into the machine and you are ready to go! I filled to the large area level, as I had to do with my other spot cleaner when needing to clean multiple spots. However, I quickly discovered that the Hoover CleanSlate uses a small fraction of the solution to clean similar areas! Also, I was able to completly remove three stains that had been in the carpet for at least a month in about 5 minutes! My other spot remover would take at least that long to clean one spot and would then need to be moved to cover a different spot, so I was amazed at the efficiency of the CleanSlate! The amount of solution that was used was minimal, even though I felt like I was being very liberal in spraying the stained areas. The carpet was still damp, but that was to be expected. I am completely sold on the Hoover CleanSlate Pet Spot Cleaner and will be getting rid of the inferior cleaners that I previously owned!

I’ve never had an upholstery cleaner and was debating which one to get. I like this one, seems to clean well. However, novices need to read this: no matter which cleaner you get, spot cleaning may cause water marks on your furniture. After cleaning my pieces, they look worse than before, because I spot cleaned rather than cleaning the whole thing. This may be because I have white furniture but if you clean one area of a dirty chair, that area will be cleaner/lighter and make the rest look dingy. I’m super bummed, all my upholstery looks much worse after cleaning it. I wish I had never cleaned it to begin with. Again, this is absolutely no fault of Hoover. The machine worked well and cleaned well. Moral of the story- clean the ENTIRE piece of furniture to avoid ... MoreI’ve never had an upholstery cleaner and was debating which one to get. The machine worked well and cleaned well. Moral of the story- clean the ENTIRE piece of furniture to avoid patchy areas. Other thoughts: - I thought the tough scrubber head would ruin my upholstery but it didn’t seem to - good suction (though you need the entire vacuum head to connect with something to maintain suction, so suction doesn’t really work if you are trying to do a thin chair arm that doesn’t allow you to press the whole head down against the fabric). - the hose cleaner is a nice feature - it does seem to clean well - the cleaning solution sprayer is spotty, not like a regular spray bottle. You could always use a regular spray bottle, it would just take a long time to get it damp enough to vacuum up.
