I have been having issues with blisters on my feet and also being able to feel the rocks and so beneath my feet under normal sneakers. I was wearing Pro Keds high tops before and got lots of blisters. Once I switched to the HOKA Transport all issues were fixed. I broke them in a few miles at a time and had to break them in since the cushions felt tight. After a week of say 10 miles of walks total the sneakers are perfect. I wore the first pair of Hoka's for about 300 miles and am on the 2nd pair for about 20 miles. They are very comfortable and my favorite sneakers to walk in for exercise. I have had no blister issues and don't feel rocks under my feet to the point of hurting. The rocks I am talking about are an inch to an inch in a half and sometimes have points ... My one complaint is that when my feet sweat it shows up on the sneaker since these are not the GTX version. I love the light blue color in the non gtx and these are also i believe 25 dollars cheaper. My old sneakers had 300 miles in them and the back lining had just started to get holes. They will be the sneakers I use to mow the lawn with. They are still good and one site said they can go to 500 miles in them. I don't want to chance it so got a new pair.

I hate panning and returning these shoes. They meet the normal high quality construction we expect from Hoka. I currently have 6 pair of Hoka shoes and love them all. From the photos and description I thought they would fall somewhere between the Rincon and Challenger shoes that I have in my inventory. They fit similar to the Rincon but the material is not as resilient to allow enough lateral stretch to be comfortable. The different material used in the soles of the shoes is stiffer and puts pressure on both the instep of my arch and the outside ball of my feet. No matter how much I loosened the elastic laces it still felt like it was too tight. Given the other fit issues I did not want to destroy the elastic laces and try the included standard laces. I think part of that is the material used for the uppers.I hate having to buy and return items like this, but we live in a fairly small city and while the local running store and one shoe store stock Hoka, the seldom have my size in stock. That leaves the only option to order what I want and is not locally stocked and hope for the best. Regardless of the shoe line or style it seems nearly impossible to fine something for my big feet in stock.I would definitely recommend these to friends but hope that they would be available in their size so they can determine if they are a good fit before they walk out of the store.

Ok so these shoes are mostly great, but they have one major defect I have encountered on two pairs in a row now... The fabric in the heel wears out incredibly fast. My first pair had the fabric wearing thin within a few months of casual use. We exchanged them under the warranty. After only 2 months it started happening again and I'm now having to return them. For comparison, I normally run in ASICS gel nimbus and retire them to a casual walking shoe after 400-500 miles or so. I have had a pair since 2018 with god knows how many miles, with a similar satinlike heel fabric, but is completely intact with barely even any pilling or anything.Bearing that in mind, I am confident that these particular hoka's have a pretty significant defect that needs to be addressed. ... This is my first HOKA shoe outside of the Clifton line-up so I am mostly comparing the sizing/fit to those. At first try, the shoe is easy to put on and lace. I opted to keep the quick-cinch laces and love them. The mid foot region and toe-box is quite narrow compared to my Cliftons of the same shoe size so hopefully they wear in with continued use (~2.5 weeks in, still tight). I mainly got these because they are water-resistant and my walking commute to the hospital can be wet and rainy as well as never knowing what fluid can get on my shoes in the hospital. The shoe is firm, but comfortable with all day use. I am on my feet all day and have not had issues with foot pain as some other reviewers say. The shoes are quick and responsive. The shoe is firm, but comfortable with all day use. I am on my feet all day and have not had issues with foot pain as some other reviewers say. The shoes are quick and responsive. The grip is ideal in the hospital. However, since they are water-resistant, my feet get quite hot and sweat to the point that the insole develops a loud squeak with each step towards the end of each day. This only occurs after several hours of wearing them but is quite annoying and almost embarrassing. I tried sprinkling powder under the insole as HOKA suggests, but this is only a temporary fix (1-2 days). I absolutely love the shoe for its look and function, but gave it 3 stars due to the narrow toe-box (-1) and the loud, embarrassing squeak at the end of the day (-1). This might be a product/material failure. I will keep the shoe despite everyone hearing me walking from a mile away at the end of each day. Hopefully HOKA an fix this issue in future models.
I recently got a new job that has me walking 7.75 miles a day or above 80,000 steps a week. So basically my whole body was a pretzel by the end of the month. I like to mention I work for a healthcare company and seeing doctors and nurses wearing Hoka. So I asked why Hoka shoes? They said they had less pain, better posture and more energy. Plus they had at least 3-5 pairs of Hoka for work, hiking, running and just every day living. I actually bought a pair of Gaviota 5 to help with my pronation. I felt pain for the first week but realizing that my feet were adjusting to the correct way to walk. Then a couple months later I bought the transport so I wouldn't wear out my first pair too fast. I am a school custodian and am constantly on the move. I routinely walk over 20,000 steps a day, often 6 days a week. I have owned 3 pairs of Hokas before these and never had a problem other than the "Hoka Squeek" after about 6 months on only one shoe. With the Transports I got the "Hoka Squeek" within the first week of wearing on the left shoe and a big gash in the sole that has started peeling back on the right shoe. I had high hopes for the vibram sole but this one doesn't hold up. I tried to initiate a warranty but sending them back and waiting for them to evaluate will take about 2 weeks and they may just send them back to me citing normal wear and tear. I cant go that long without good shoes and my old ones I keep around just in case are just not cut out for ... MoreI am a school custodian and am constantly on the move. I will probably end up gluing the sole flap back on and wearing these until its time for an upgrade. Sadly I think ill explore other brands next time and see what else is out there and worth the high cost of good shoes.
I wanted to like these so much, and I did...for about 3 weeks.HOKA designs a great shoe but they fall apart about 1 month in. Quality is so suspect. I had to return my HOKA Speedgoat 5's because they started falling apart after a few weeks. I replaced them with these and immediately fell in love with the style and the comfort. I even liked the quick laces. Unfortunately, they've held up about as well as my Speedgoats. The first thing to start peeling was the reflective piece on the front. And now one of the seems where the laces are has busted. I can't keep purchasing $150+ shoes that can't last more than a few months. I don't know what happened with the guy who's review headline states 'this shoe can take some abuse.' He mentioned having them for 2 weeks so maybe ... I am in my eighties and still very active. I have been wearing Skechers for a number of years (quite a bit cheaper). I decided I would spend the extra money and try the Hoka transport (Castle Rock/Black). The shoes fit according to size. They had a different feel when I first tried them on but after a short walk they felt amazing. Great support and a wonderful feeling on my feet. I no longer like to wear my leather dress shoes and more interested in comfort. My wife doesn't like the look of an athletic shoe for a dressy occasion so I decided the Hoka was so comfortable that I would compromise and purchased a 2nd pair in all black. Looks and feels fine to me but I know I will eventually have to go to a more fancy activity and I will have to haul out the old leather ... MoreI am in my eighties and still very active. I REALLY wanted to love the Transports. After 5 pair of Bondis, these seemed to address my two greatest complaints with Hoka shoes: sole durability, and just a bit of a cleaner style to de-emphasize wearing running shoes at work. After four wears, I'm initiating a return. The Good: In spite of being less plush and having a narrower toe box than the Bondis, the Transports are very comfortable right out of the box. A bit firmer and stiffer than the true running shoes, but the more you are on your feet and moving the better they feel. The Transports want to work! The Vibram sole seems truly durable, and I was looking forward to these being my 'do-it-all' shoes -- from work, to walking the dog, to the everyday tasks & errands. The Vibram sole seems truly durable, and I was looking forward to these being my 'do-it-all' shoes -- from work, to walking the dog, to the everyday tasks & errands. The Cordura upper seems far more durable than the usual mesh uppers, and I think over time it would take a pretty good beating. The Bad: after several hours of wear, the narrower toe box did cause some irritation around the metatarsal joint of my big toes. This lessened with each wear, and I think just a little more break-in would have resolved it (again, I only have worn them 4 times). The true deal-breaker, though, is the early appearance of the "Hoka squeak", which for me happens right under the ball of the foot. This is well-documented in reviews and forums for multiple Hoka styles, and every pair of Bondis I have owned has eventually developed this in one of the shoes. I could typically get a year of wear out of them before it started in the Bondis, but I am now four wears into the Transports and both shoes already sound like I'm walking on my dog's squeaker toys with every step. I have always considered it ridiculous that this would happen even after a year in premium road running shoes at a premium price, but after 4 wears it is egregiously unacceptable. This clearly is a design flaw that Hoka designers either can't fix or won't, so I think it's time to try other options.
I purchased this shoe to use as a walking shoe on a long trip in the hopes that the material would keep my feet dry if I encountered any inclement weather. I had also hoped that the water-resistant upper would mitigate some of the downsides of a white shoe (especially scuffing and the need for frequent cleaning).Unfortunately, there really is no good use case for this shoe due to the characteristics of the Cordura upper material, which really provides the worst of all worlds for the wearer. It is water resistant enough to prevent the shoe from breathing, but not water resistant enough to keep your feed dry in the rain. It is not water resistant enough to keep the upper from scuffing or staining, but water resistant enough to make cleaning effectively impossible. ... The shoe's main redeeming quality is that sole offers excellent traction, but this is equally true of other HOKA shoes and isn't a reason to buy this one.If you do buy this shoe, don't wear it for any significant activity and go for a darker color. Just buy another HOKA, though.
