Herschel Classic XL Backpack - Black Tonal

I liked the backpack. it’s cool, the material is nice in my opinion. Good back to school backpack. To be honest the XL size is nice but NOT as spacious as jane sport backpack. if you want a backpack for school, i recommend any other brand. If you know you won’t carry a lot of things, this backpack is good. Overall though, great purchase and if you want to try it, i’d say give it a shot. if you don’t like it return it or get the one you’re comfortable with. The price is a bit much but again, the backpack isn’t bad.

A great bag with loads of space

This is a great bag. My daughter needed something large yet sturdy for school, and that fitted her 15" laptop. We tried smaller capacities (from both Herschel and other brands) but found them on the small side, especially for the laptop. The XL is really capacious with plenty of space for her stuff. The shoulder straps are padded, comfy and wide - so good for distributing the weight when the bag is full. We also love the water bottle pocket at the side which is big enough for her 750ml bottle (other brands we looked at either didn't have a bottle holder or were too small to fit her big bottle). The material feels durable and thick and zips etc run smoothly. It has also withstood the rain. The Ash Rose colour is gorgeous too. Very happy and would purchase again.

Better

This back pack is nice. Not sure how durable it will be yet but my girl loves it. She has wanted a Herschel back pack for a while now. We got a kids youth one and it was pretty small to fit all her winter gear plus her lunch box/extra clothes etc… Not quite sure how this one will pan out but I don’t want to return another one. Here are pics for people to see. I was going to go with the Retreat one but I didn’t like how the front pocket had no zipper and it was pretty much the same size.Anyway, overall, we will see how this backpack works out. Super fast delivery though for our replacement which was awesome. Oh and just a heads up with this company, if you want to return something here they charge you a $5.00 dollar fee to get money back. Decent backpack but flawed

It certainly looks nice but it's not deep enough to hold a lot of things, it's bursting if I try to put more than my lunchbag in it. I wanted a big backpack for my laptop and lunch bag and important papers, but it can't handle what I consider a normal load. The laptop sleeve isn't padded which isn't a dealbreaker but definitely something to consider. The outside is very sturdy and nice and retains its shape but the inner lining is thin and feels cheap, plus it stains easily. And the straps do not stay on your shoulders at all. They're textured but it does nothing to keep it on your shoulders. Nice looking bag but not the kind of workhorse bag a person needs.

Fantastic Quality

After getting through 2 bags in one year at secondary school, I think we finally have a bag that will last. You can feel the strength and quality of the bag immediately when comparing to other cheaper brands. The bag is spacious for books, a laptop, a metal water bottle, pencil case, snack box and raincoat. Comfortable to wear with padded straps. Overall my son and I are very happy indeed. Thank you!

It's alright I guess

I do not understand why they decided to remove the second bottle holder and the striped interior. I loved carrying my umbrella in the other pocket to save space, and as someone else pointed out, it is now harder to find things in the bottom. I would return it, but I do not want to spend another 25 euros returning another bag, so I guess I'll just live with it.Other than that, the quality is good, and the warranty has helped me in the past. If the two other points do not bother you, then you cannot go wrong. Otherwise, I'd look at other options.

Why change what isn't broken?

I had this backpack for 2 years and it was my favorite backpack. Sadly the zipper broke, and so I used the warranty to replace the backpack. The customer service was outstanding which is why I am giving this review 2 stars. Anyways, I was so excited to receive this backpack but was disappointed to see the changes. The interior of the bag is black, replacing the iconic red. I do not mind this as much, what was really upsetting was that they went from 2 side pockets to 1. I am soooo upset. I used both pockets on my last backpack, and I am sad they would remove one for almost no reason? Feels like false advertisement. bag got run over by cop car; still looks brand new

great upgrade!
