Iris Ukiyoé is a delicate, joyful interpretation of the unexpected scent of the iris flower. "As a collector of Japanese prints, the iris of the 'floating world' – ukiyoé – by Hokusai and Hiroshige has vividly stayed in my memory. It served as my inspiration for the composition of this variation on the theme of the iris flower. I wanted to explore the misunderstood fragrance of its blooms instead of taking the classic approach to the iris. The perfume, with its simultaneously delicate and strong presence, oscillates between rose, orange blossom, and mandarin, with light impressionistic touches." Jean-Claude Ellena.
