I havent had the chance to sew too much with this machine but so far it is so much better than my singer. It is a little on the heavy side but that is to be expected. It has sewn easily through vinyl, multiple layers of heavy duty material and has been forgiving if I have made mistakes like forgetting to put the foot down. I love the top loading bobbin. I am a beginner but this machine has made sewing jobs so much easier. Turns out a lot of my issues were that I didnt have a machine that could handle what i was sewing through.

What I love most about this machine is the top loader, which takes the pain out of sewing. I love the black vintage look, sturdiness, and so easy to use. My teen I will be sharing until she gets the hang of it, and I will purchase a Janome HD 3000BE for her. I also like that it is not digital, as don’t want to deal with any technical problems after 8 hours at work. The manual has super easy instructions. I recommend, and a good investment.

This machine does NOT have a 1.0A amp motor. It has half that- 0.5A amps.To say that I am disappointed to have paid nearly $400 for a machine that does what the average <$200 does would be the understatement of the year.Mine has HD-3000BE on the front of the machine, yet the label on the back of the machine says "753LE" and 0.5A amps.I bought what I thought was a heavy duty machine. I am disappointed by this overpriced and underpowered model. So if you've got money to burn and all you're doing is masks- go for it.But if you want something that's going to sew thin leather, vinyl, and multiple layers of denim- forget it. This is not going to do it.Buyer beware.

Originally I was looking at another model of another well known brand, but it was out of stock. I started reading reviews on sewing machines and learned about Janome which were highly rated. It cost quite a bit more, but I liked the reviews. I am happy with the display and functions. It's very easy to operate and I tried all the different stitches to be sure they all worked. This HD3000 has a great variety of the most desired stitches. It has everything you need for a wide range of sewing projects and it will sew heavy fabrics and leather which is such a great feature. I can do repairs on jeans and work clothing and home upholstery projects. The motor runs smoothly and the foot pedal is responsive, so you can go very slow if you want or zoom at fast speed. I am ... This was a machine I thought would be superior to the Janome2222. The thread skipped and clotted up underneath or was so loose the sticking pulled right out. I called Janome customer service, the agent walked me through trying different tensions and foot plates. Nothing helped. She told me to buy the purple needles because this corrects skipping of stitches and keeps the stitch even. I put the needle in and it still clogged up and bent the needle. She told me to return it because the machine had issues.
I purchased this to replace a wimpy Kenmore machine that I struggled with for many years. The final straw was attempting to make masks which required sewing through 4 layers if material and elastic. I had to force them through the machine! This machine is no wimp. I watched YouTube videos demonstrating this machine, and was impressed. I decided to go for it, and I am not disappointed. The setup was simple, there are many great features including an automatic needle threader, and the power is undeniable. I tested the machine by sewing through 8 layers of material, and it went through it smoothly and without hesitation! The extra feed dogs and presser foot which raises extra high is a great asset for the heavier jobs. If you are looking for a great heavy duty manual ... I purchased the HD 3000 about a year ago. I wanted a mechanical machine and this fits the bill. Heavy, well constructed, and reliable. I’ve sewn quilts to chiffon and many fabrics inbetween. The HD3000 did very well with denim. In response to someone’s complaint about needle position , it is true, you can only move the needle as far as the width of the largest zigzag stitch. So far this has not been a problem for me.For quilting I purchased a 1/4” foot with guide and it has been perfect.I also don’t care for the horizontal thread placement, but a plus is you can close up the machine threaded. I’ve had no issue with tension and bobbin winding has been perfect.A suggestion for fine fabrics is invest in a straight stitch plate. This machine defiantly has eaten ... This machine defiantly has eaten some fabrics prior to me obtaining one. Some things I love are the feet stored on top and the stitch settings at a glance. Ease of use, and powerful motor. Extra high presser foot lift, and adjustable foot pressure. All in all a great machine that I recommend to anyone who is interested in a mechanical sewing machine.
Very easy to setup and use. Sewed thru six layers of drapery material with ease. I tried the same thickness on my Singer HD4411 and it couldnt handle the thickness at the corners with rolled hems, the Janome sewed thru the corners with ease. I also have sewn lighter weight material with the same ease. I would highly recommend this to anyone whether you are getting your first machine or needing a heavy duty machine. This made a great addition to my collection which include an Adler walking foot industrial, Sailrite Ultrafeed LSZ-1, Singer HD4411.
Ordered this sewing machine on a Friday and received the following Monday. This is my second Janome HD3000. It's a very nice sewing machine. The setting chart on the lid is wonderful. You don't have to grab the manual to look up settings, they are right there in front of you. This machine will sew through those heavy seams on blue jeans and then switch to delicate materials without changing the tension between the two. I like this feature the most about this sewing machine. Also, the machine does not move while sewing. It stays in place. It's worth the money and a great place to buy it.
Good machine. Does two layers of upholstery vinyl with no trouble. The only bad thing so far is that there was a loose screw in the bottom of the box. I can't see where it came from or I would install it. I don't want to take the machine apart, so I am kind of stuck. I like the machine, I'm just kind of cringing every time I turn it on, waiting to hear a "CRUNCH!"
