Blends hair naturally

Stopped highlighting several months ago and this product is really helping me blend my old highlighted hair to match my natural hair. I'm a dark blonde with a little bit of gray. My highlights were very very blonde. I got the dark blonde and it is the perfect match. It's not completely covering the gray, but it seems to add a little bit of pigment to the gray. Hair does not feel weighed down. I've tried other glosses and usually my hair feels heavy and sticky and this does not. I may continue using this even when my highlights are gone, since I do think it helps the gray a little bit.

However, Cool Medium Brown is the absolute BEST!!! If you leave it on dry hair for 30 minutes, I would say it is closer to a level 6 aka light brown. There is no hint of warmth. It is as close to a match for my natural hair color as I am ever going to find in a semipermanent (non-damaging) dye and I could not be more pleased!!!Pro tip: apply conditioner along your hairline before applying this color (and wear gloves) or it will stain your skin because it is very pigmented!

The stench is hyper-gross and so strong that it doesn't wash away. I washed my hair about six times to try to get rid of the smell. The odor is so heavy that it caused me to have a coughing attack. Even the biggest lovers of fragrance would probably find this to be overkill. Unless you want yourself and everyone around you to be subjected to the overwhelming and pungent odor of bug spray and cancer, I'd avoid. The smell of dog crap lingers less than this. It even crossed my mind to just shave all my hair off. Use Kristen Ess glosses instead.

Excellent Color but MUST Wear Gloves :)
23 October 2022

I loved the ease of not having to mix this product and having both the option to apply in-shower to damp hair or to dry. I used the dark brown which was perfectly suitable for my hair color. For the first application I used the in-shower on damp hair method. This sounded like no brainer... I didn't have to worry about the product getting on anything, I was already going to wash my hair anyway, and I could quickly and easily wash my hands to prevent the pigment from staining my hands... Right? Yes, to all but the latter!!! The company does warn that darker shades can stain the skin but I never imagined that it would stain my hands the second it made contact. I had to scrub my hands with a pumice stone until they were sore and raw in order to get the stains off. I had to scrub my hands with a pumice stone until they were sore and raw in order to get the stains off. You have been warned :) Now fearful of what was the underestimated power of this product, I only left it on my hair for approximately 5 minutes. The results were great, as I did notice my color was a beautiful, deeper, richer version of its self prior to the treatment. Thankfully, my hair is already shiny so I am unable to review that aspect of the products claim. After 2 weeks I thought it only be fair to try this product using the dry method and left it on for the same duration of time for a most accurate comparison... This time, I used gloves :) The results were equally as positive and effective without the stress of staining. Both applications were super easy, as there was no mixing, the product comes in an easy to use bottle with a pump dispenser and the formula is rich and thick making for an effortless application. I would highly recommend this product for anyone looking for more dimension and an easy at home semipermanent color either in between visits to the salon or just to give your locks an extra boost of shine and depth. Compared to similar products, dpHUE delivered a richer longer lasting color. I would definitely recommend this product and will be repurchasing in the future.

Im a natural dark brown brunette. I have been getting warm hughlights for about 2 years now but have wanred to revert back to my darker color. My hair stylist didnt darken my hair enough the last go around so after about 3 months i figured id give a temp color/depositing color a try. I didnt know exactly what to expect, so I searched social media and found mostly influencers paid to promote the product raving about it. After 2 attempts my final thoughts are: it adds shine, makes your hair feel fresh like that just washed salon feel, but the payoff in terms of color dimension isnt there... definitely not there for almost $40 a bottle. I wont be returning becuase i did use half the bottle in 2 attempts but i wont be repurchasing or recommending. Also final thoughts - ... MoreIm a natural dark brown brunette. Natural medium strawberry blonde
13 November 2023

I have virgin medium strawberry blonde hair. I had a bayalage many (4+) years ago, but havent dyed or lightened it since. I bought strawberry in the hopes of bringing some more warmth into my hair. I have long and thick hair and because this is supposed to be applied to damp hair, it was hard to section my hair evenly.I applied the best i could, then gently brushed the product throughout my hair. I left it in for 15-20 minutes, rinsed, and conditioned my hair as normal. After I dried it, i did notice some areas where there wasnt as much red as i would have liked, but because of my natural hair color, it isnt as noticeable.Overall, I am very happy with the results. I wore a pair of cheesy gloves you get with the just for men beard dye (i use it for my brows), and i wish i had a better pair when i was applying the product. It would have made the process easier. The next time i use this product i plan to section my hair, wet it with a continuous mist spray bottle, then apply the conditioner to my hair to allow for more even and full coverage. Because of the length and thickness of my hair, i will likely only get 2 uses per bottle.

Perfect for blending greys and intensifying your base color

Incredible product! I know they have a disclaimer that this is not meant to cover greys, however wow, for me it totally does. I have salt & pepper hair, probably about 30% grey with a ton of white around my hairline and temples. I stopped coloring years ago and didn't want to return to pricey and time-consuming salon treatments. I had low expectations for this, and am blown away. I am using the Dark Brown and apply it on dry clean hair and let it sit for 45 minutes, sometimes even an hour. I have long hair and I use about half the bottle each time, making sure it's fully saturated. It completely covers my greys, makes my base a shiny rich chocolate brown, and it looks like I have caramel highlights. Now I use the blue shampoo before applying the color every 2 weeks. I don't wash my hair more than once a week so it barely even fades. Cannot say enough about this product - if I had discovered it years ago when I started going grey, I would have never gone to salon. Hair stylists probably do not want you to discover this!

Pleasantly Surprised
14 October 2022

I tried the light brown color. I was very nervous about the staining that the directions mentioned. I was also concerned that the product would be overly pigmented and drastically change the color of my dark blonde hair. I usually use a semi-permanent hair dye every few months. I have also used hair gloss that washes out in the next shower. My main goal for coloring my hair is to cover random grays that I have through my hair and brighten my natural color. I used quite a bit of the product and to be honest, my hands were stained. I was concerned at first, but I washed it off with soap and light exfoliation when I was done distributing the color and my hands did not stay stained. Overall I was really happy with the product and I will definitely be using it again since I was really happy with the results that it gave me.

I started using the dark brown last year. I have hair that's on the darker side of medium brown w natural gold and red in it. Sometimes i wanted to cover the warm tones, but rn my new favorite combo is mixing the dark brown and the copper. I seem fo like my hair warm better when its darker. And i can also see why ppl buy this in clear, the conditioning it gives is an actual treatment like result. As often as i try to only buy this on sale, it really is worth the money. As you put it on, it softens your hair and it doesnt suck up the product if you go slow (ppl with coarse hair know what im talking about) I could talk about this all day. Works really well, but some colors are misleading

This stuff WORKS. I have naturally dark brown hair that I bleached and colored red about a year ago, so I'm trying to keep the health of my lengths and ends by using color depositing conditioner rather than chemical hair color. When the color starts to fade, I apply the Dark Brown color on towel dried hair in the shower, leave for 30 minutes, then rinse. My hair is so soft and shiny afterwards, with my ends looking nice and dark like expected. The downside to that was that this product lasts quite a while in the hair before fading, so I looked like Ariel for about a month. So, it's a long-lasting product that works very well and does what it says it does. But do not purchase the copper color if you want a "natural" result, because that is not what you will get. The Dark Brown shade works lovely though.
