What a disappointment from product to service. The straighteners barely heated up, there was no button to adjust heat. So in that basis they were useless. Returned them by using methods suggested by GHD and even though I could track when they were received back by GHD it was a further 3 weeks before I got my refund. Have since bought some Remington straighteners for a fraction of the price and they have done an exceptional job. Really unimpressed given GHD have been going for years, will definitely not be recommending to anyone complete waste of money.

My first GHD was a gold limited addition styler, which lasted a decade. Upgraded to the platinum, which began giving issues after 2years. Never straightened the hair quite as well as my first GHD and had to have the internal board replaced last year. It stopped working again so decided to repurchase the gold styler. It is far superior to the platinum in my opinion - styles hold for much longer and heats up in 20secs. Would definitely recommend!

I bought this a few weeks ago. It's not bad but not great either. Somehow it feels similar to some of the high-end straighteners in the R1200 range at drug stores. Compared to my og IV and original styles purchased in 2007 and 2011, it feels the same on my hair. Was hoping to see something more given it's newer technology in comparison to those. Feels much lighter and like plastic compared to older models too.

I love the colouring of the GHDS, they feel much more what I would design - just the black cord to go! The Gold GHDS feel easier to handle, ergonomically they feel good and I don’t feel they are awkward with my wrist or in weight. So straightening my hair feels like a breeze! I like the noise they make when you turn them on and off and I like the visual of the lit up power button. In terms of straightening I’m really pleased, my hair feels smoother and looks glossy - I think my old IVs were on their last legs and my sufferers as a result. So I’m feeling better about the care of my hair and feeling a lot more confident about how I look. There is literally nothing better than GHD straighteners! They are such high quality and last a really long time - worth every penny! It makes your hair so silky, smooth and straight without giving the dry/frizzy effect that other straighteners can do. They also look super sleek and cute on my dressing table as the new design is gorgeous and gives really luxurious vibes. Absolutely perfect thing to treat yourself too or to gift as a present!

Having very frizzy hair i use my straighteners daily so was very happy when the new pair arrived quickly, within a few days of ordering.I was concerned when the first few times i used them on occasion they would flash red and turn off just as my old ones had before dying. I read this was something to do with a fault in the thermostat. I bought Ghd Gold Hair Straightener a few weeks ago. I had heard a lot of good words about GHD indeed. Couldn't say it is not true. My straightener is relatively good, but every good thing has its own negative sides. I thought Gold would be the perfect size of hair straightener for me, but it turns out to be smaller than I thought. I did'nt wanted to buy GHD max because it seemed to me that it would be bigger than the normal size of hair straighteners. To conclude my review, the item is good, but small for my hair. It takes a lot of time to straighten my hair because of the small plates, even though I have thin hair. Thank you for asking me for a review.
My darling wife had been complaining for a while about her 10 year old GHD Original losing it's 'oomph'. So I did some research and bought her the GHD Gold in fresh lilac for her birthday. Although I didn't receive many updates about my order it arrived here in NZ very quickly. She is absolutely over the moon with her new GHD! It straightens her hair noticeably faster, and seems to do a markedly better job of it too. I got her name embossed on it for that personal touch, which is very classy, she absolutely loved it. Happy wife, happy life.

I had the gold for about 3 years but because this company doesn’t use ceramic plates, they cheap out using aluminum plates with a ceramic coating, the coating on my last one wore off making it extremely damaging to my hair. So I did some research and found out that coating aluminum plates with ceramic is the cheap way out and at this price I wasn’t expecting to read that. A good quality straightener will have full ceramic plates so even tho I just ordered this one and even though it has mainly great reviews, I will be canceling my order because I don’t believe the company is fairly pricing their actually cheaply made products.
