I don't know if I would recommend this memory since it did not work out of the box. My system wouldn't even boot (Asrock X570 Taichi with a Ryzen 3900x) with the supplied XMP profile. I did eventually get the RAM to run at advertised speeds but it took several days when accounting for all the stress testing required to verify that the system was stable. Admittedly, the Asrock X570 Taichi motherboard is not on the QVL list but I honestly didn't know such a list existed until I ran into issues. On all of my previous systems, the XMP profile just worked out of the box. I'm still agitated though because there is no mention of a QVL list on G.Skill's box or Newegg's specifications page. The only information on the G.Skill box is: "Trident Z Neo is the next generation RGB DDR4 memory engineered to provide premium performance for the latest AMD Ryzen 3000 series processors on the X570 chipset platform. Crafted with dual-toned aluminum heatspreaders, hand-screened performance memory chips on a custom 10-layer PCB designed for superb signal integrity, as well as rigorously tested for compatibility and stability, the Trident Z Neo is the perfect choice for your next AMD system." I think a reasonable person would read that statement and infer that the memory is compatible with all systems running a Ryzen 3000 series processor on an X570 motherboard. G.Skill's customer service was also unhelpful and did not provide any useful information. Unfortunately, memory kits were in short supply at the time of my purchase and this kit was one of the only 2x32GB kits available. I probably wouldn't purchase this kit again if there was any other alternative available. FYI, the impedance settings were the main parameters that I had to change to get the system working. I also increased some of the voltages but I don't know if that was really necessary. I needed to use the computer so I couldn't wait another 24 hours for stress testing. The parameters I had to change were: SOC: 1.05 V VDDP: 0.9 V VDDG Voltage: 1.0 V DRAM Voltage: 1.352 V CPU On-Die Termination: 60 Ohms CAD Bus ClkDrvStren: 24 Ohms CAD Bus AddrCmdDrvStren: 24 Ohms CAD Bus CsOdtCmdDrvStren: 24 Ohms CAD Bus CkeDrvStren: 24 Ohms

I built a new system and spent hours trying to track down the cause for my system's instability. For a while my system was crashing and rebooting itself when playing games. I originally thought it was related to the known crashing issues with the RTX 3000 series and early drivers or was related to the way they can trip power supplies with sudden power spikes. I downclocked by gpu and replaced by PSU, which seemed to help a little, but didn't completely resolve the issue. Eventually the system started crashing when not doing anything particularly intensive, but luckily it finally gave me an actual error message pointing to the RAM. I ran a memory test and it failed. Even if not on sale, I'd recommend this memory stick pair to others. I don't know how fast they can really go, I don't overclock anything (no need). But clearly 3600MHz is good and stable here. I bought this pair partly because of the good customer service reviews for G.SKILL. Like insurance, I hope to never need that...

This RAM, as long as you are one of the majority who get flawless parts, works great. I set up this RAM, and despite some stuttering (which I will explain in a moment), it was lightning fast. The problem with my specific set was that at least one stick seems to have either missing or damaged sectors pretty early on. This led to all sorts of instability, from applications hanging or crashing to kernel panics, which on Windows would cause the ever dreaded BSOD (specifically, Memory Management or ATIKMPAG.sys). If it wasn't for this faulty stick, I would have given this RAM five stars, and if I can RMA the faulty set and get a set that works fine, I'll gladly do so. When it did work (read: when it only used the good stick), it was the fastest RAM I ever had.
It looks great, works great on both my x570 system and TRX40 system, and the frequency allows to run Zen2 chips in the FCLK sweetspot, but the timings are relatively loose. It uses Hynix MJR ICs, that aren't bad, but so obscure that even 1usmus' Ryzen DRAM calculator had no idea how to tune them, although patriot also uses them in some of their high capacity kits. I bought 3 of these kits, and the XMP profiles (or D.O.C.P. / A-XMP / etc) are stable, but not on Zen/Zen+ CPUs, due to memory controller limitations, so you may need to downclock them to 3200MHz to get them stable on such a system. Lastly, overclocking headroom may exist on these, but lack of documentation along with quirky behavior (those are dual rank modules) makes it harder to leverage it. Always the best!! Ive been using these for a long while - Ive ordered these before this purchase - and never let me down! AMAZING for content creation - unreal engine - blender - etc Make sure to match all specs for ram if youre adding more.
OK, first off this is nice memory, but in "my" opinion it is over hyped. Built a new AMD(3950X) workstation, I was gifted G.SKILL Trident Z Neo 64GB (2x32) 3600 and I purchased a second set. When I build something for myself, I usually don't listed to reviews etc. I choose what I think is right. AHHH man you need Neo for AMD. B.S. I just happen to have G.SKILL Ripjaws V (2x32) 3200 set, and I have no idea why I did it, but yanked from system and put in new system. Not going into the numbers but the Ripjaws overclocked better. No problem, had the Neo, lets go. Definitely one of the toughest wars I've ever been in with a build. I'll spare you the drama of running out of super glue for my last grey hair replacements every 10 minutes. Final results, 128 (4x32) @3600 stable, had almost 3800 but not running those volts for a daily. Might be fine if I could get the LEDs to turn off, might use the 3800, naaaa. It's a closed case, no look at me weeee system peephole. AMD 3950X 4.3 all cores on air. Yes if a client wants the Neo, request it, no problem.
I purchased this RAM for use in a ASUS X570 Tuff Gaming Plus Motherboard running a Ryzen 9 5900x. I confirmed that this RAM was correct on the GSkill Memory Finder and also with the ASUS QVL List. Installed RAM, turned on D.O.C.P. in Bios and restarted my PC. Turned on the Task Manager and Memory shows 64GB running at 3600MHZ. This is what I expected and I was not disappointed by the Results.
It will not reach 3600mhz on my setup even when turning on XMP. After turning on XMP and attempting to reboot it wouldn't boot up for me just shutdown after a few seconds. When I try to reboot it automatically goes back to CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900x MOBO: ASRock X570 Taichi ATX GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT Storage (OS): Samgsung SSD 860 EVO M.2 1TB Storage: Seagate 4TB (RAID) PSU: 1600Watts Rosewill Hercules 80 Plus Gold Cooling: Master Liquid Lite - Liquid Cooling
This ram kit turned out about as well as I could have hoped for the money. This ram uses 16Gb hynix CJR ram chips (part number#H5ANAG8NCJR-VKC) and as such I knew I wasn't going to get this kit to perform as well as a much more expensive kit based on Micron chips. That being said it does run at 3600mhz assuming your CPU's memory controller can handle it. I paired this with my 3950x on a Gigabyte x570 aorus master motherboard and after tinkering I got this kit running at 3733 with 18-19-21-39-60 timings with a tRFC of 700 and got my latency down to 69.3ns from 74 which isn't awful for high density ram like this. The best advice I can give anyone purchasing this kit is to turn on XMP and set your TRFC manually to around 700 as that will get you the biggest latency reduction for the least amount of work, and my board was setting it to 1027 on auto. The bottom line is I am pleased with this kit for the price I paid and would buy it again.
