It could keep the correct date and time. It could keep out the water since it is resistant to 500M. It could be sturdier. I exchanged the watch with the same after a month due to the band-bar bending showing the metal is soft. The replacement watch kept time for a few months until it reset to January 1 at Midnight every few months. There was moisture under the crystal even though I don't swim with it. I wore it during daily activities like washing dishes, laundry and showering. My previous Casio watches have withstood those activities plus swimming but their bands didn't last the test of time. I own 1 already in the same gold and black tones. I've had it for about 7 years now. Originally joked about how it was the only gold watch I'd ever be able to afford. After several years of daily wear, it started to wear away a little bit of the gold paint on the corners and edges. Still looks good though. Left it in a drawer for about 3 years and forgot about it. I recently found it again and it's still going and dead accurate. Now it's my work watch. I bought another one to keep nice. I love this basic little watch. Actually has useful and easy to use features as well. Best value watch I've ever owned.

I have had one other Baby-G watch around 9 years ago and I loved it. It’s battery life was amazing, but after I changed it myself, it was no longer waterproof. I am going to do things differently with this one. I love it! Very comfortable and easy to read. I highly recommend this watch to anyone!

This is a great watch-- I have one I bought almost 30 years ago (it used to be called the "Illuminator") and it still works fine. I bought another because I could not find the first, which I located the day after I bought the current model (duh!). The current model does not light up as bright and the alarm does not sound as long, but it keeps time perfectly and looks exactly like the original. After several years the rubber wristband will fracture, but I replaced it with a cheap woven nylon band that lasts for decades. The battery lasts for the promised seven years (be sure someone with experience changes the battery so that they do not injure the alarm -- that happened with my wife's identical watch). Most amazing of all, the price (a little over $10 US) has not ... MoreThis is a great watch-- I have one I bought almost 30 years ago (it used to be called the "Illuminator") and it still works fine. Most amazing of all, the price (a little over $10 US) has not changed in all those years. I mainly use it when I travel, especially overseas, so that I do not look like a rich American (my gold Swiss watch stays home). Six stars! Recommended! (PS It arrived by US mail much sooner than estimated. )
Was served by a guy in a pub wearing one of these a few weeks back and as I already owned a GD-350looked into getting one of these and so went onto the Watchshop site and bought one for £75 with discountcode LOVE25 so it seemed good value for money. Was even more impressed when I got it out of the box the next day. Fit and finish is better than my GD-350and comparable to my GW-9400-1A (positive display). Has a smoother more science fictiony ascetic thanthe 350 which is more business like and military, even badass, but that's what I was looking for. Nice red letteringand green and red second counter dials on a mid grey face really set it off. Looks about the same diameter asthe GW-9400 but is slimmer so should be OK with Natos/zulus etc. It looks more elegant ... MoreWas served by a guy in a pub wearing one of these a few weeks back and as I already owned a GD-350looked into getting one of these and so went onto the Watchshop site and bought one for £75 with discountcode LOVE25 so it seemed good value for money. Was even more impressed when I got it out of the box the next day. Looks about the same diameter asthe GW-9400 but is slimmer so should be OK with Natos/zulus etc. It looks more elegant and understatedthan in the photos/vids.Having a few GW tough solar and multiband 6 'shocks I don't consider the lack of these or the basic speca problem as it's so easy to look after, just put it in a drawer for a few days/weeks and wear it when you want to andthe battery should last 10 years if you don't use the backlight illumination.I have a 16cm wrist and the strap does splay out a bit at the lugs. It is noticeable to me but in the mirror andto other people the chunky strap does hide it and it looks fine. Lets face it it's what other people think that reallymatters. The GD-350 is a snugger fit for a small wrist and oddly enough so is the GW-9400. If you want the solarand multiband the vaguely similar GW-6900 and GW-7900 can be had for the same money but aren't so pretty.
My favorite G-Shock model from the last few years. Had to find the another after my first one was lost. +Tough, and cleans up nice. + Seconds hand + Smaller case size + No unnecessary or gimmicky features. Tells time well. + Plain watch dial with small LED readout for date. + Polished quartz face that is very reflective. + Bright light + Battery lasts up to 3 years
I did my homework before buying this watch. I read reviews and went to a jewelry store to look at the watch and see how it would look on my wrist. Too many people seem to have written their reviews of this product without doing their homework, and they seem to be surprised by some things that they should have known before forking over the dough to buy one. That said, here's my review: This watch is the perfect size for me. A lot of reviewers wrote about how it is not as large as other G-Shock watches. When I bought mine, I read reviews and product descriptions first before I went to look at the watch in a local store. Had the other reviewers taken the time to at least read about the watch, they'd have known that it is smaller than other Casio models. It is ... MoreI did my homework before buying this watch. When I bought mine, I read reviews and product descriptions first before I went to look at the watch in a local store. Had the other reviewers taken the time to at least read about the watch, they'd have known that it is smaller than other Casio models. It is attractive and has the basic functions that I wanted. Frankly, I don't need a watch that has a lot of bells and whistles; if I did, I would have bought one that did. The backlight illuminates the digital display well, but does not do much for the hands, but I knew this (again) because I read other people's reviews and saw the watch for myself. Also, some other reviewers wrote about the luminescent hands not glowing in the dark for very long... are you kidding me? Have they never had an analog watch before? The glow-in-the-dark material that have been used for like 70 years or more do not glow indefinitely now any more than it did back in the day. Surprise! Surprise! Another comment in a few other reviews that I thought was particularly ludacris was that they "had trouble distinguishing the minute hand from the hour hand." First, did they look at the pretty pictures before they bought? Obviously not! Listen, if you're too stupid to tell time on this watch (which is NOT hard to read), give it up and buy a digital! Here's the bottom line: do your homework. Figure out how big you want your watch to be, then read the item description. Read the reviews, and (if possible) go to a store that sells this item to see how it looks in the flesh. THEN, if it passes muster, buy it. If it doesn't, then don't.
So I bought this watch for my wife, who for many years was not a "watch person". My wife is a stay at home mom (We have 4 kids), but she is also a yoga instructor and overall very active person. Since her normal everyday apparel is usually yoga pants, t-shirts, tank tops, hoodies, etc., she typically wears (and loves) her Casio G-Shock watches. Funny thing is that she HATES analog watches. She feels like it is too much work to figure out what time it as and much prefers to just glance at the time in digital form, especially when teaching a yoga class (Her G-Shocks are all Digital). Well, she recently told me that she wanted a watch to wear when she is dressed up a little more since her G-Shock watches don't really go well when you are more dressed up. Again, when I suggested "Analog watches", she made it clear she only wanted something that was digital. I initially looked at some of the G-Shocks with metal bands, but my wife still thought they were "too bulky". After searching for "Casio Women's Watch, Stainless Steel", I came across the LA680WA-7D. My wife absolutely loved the vintage look and the smaller size of the watch, so I went ahead and bought one for her. The watch is perfect and a great buy for the price. I have NEVER had a bad experience with a Casio watch. Their quality and durability are top notch. My dad is ex-military Special Forces and he has been wearing Casio G-Shock watches since 1985. Pros: Great looking watch. You can find these for a great price if you shop around. The watch size is perfect for women- Not too big, not too small. The numbers are easy to read. Casio quality. This watch should also a long time. Cons: None that I can think of.
I love the Casio G shock style. Other than being strong and water proof is stylish. Very nice for everyone and for every occasion. I like the fact that it glows in the dark. I love the color blue. The blue and silver is a good combination. I have bought Casio for more than 30 yrs I have never been disappointed. I wish they will build a watch that the Florence stuff will last longer. Or it will never wears out. Overall is a very nice looking watch. I had the one that use to bring a calculator, the other that was a divers watch, the other one that had a countdown. Just like the one in Blue Thunder. All great watches.
this watch works very well and is absolutely adorable. it is small, it looks small, even on my small wrist. i love it! it gets lots of compliments, which was unexpected. i am not sure as to how water resistant it is, as i do not swim or bath in these types of watches, thats what my g-shocks and my mdv106 are for. im sure normal hand washing, splashes, rain etc would be fine. the watch came with no box or instruction booklet, but, trust, this little piece of wrist candy does not need you to be super duper intelligent to figure it out. most of the functions/specs are labeled on the watch itself, thanks, casio jajajajaa functions are: 12/24 hour time, alarm clock, stop watch with split/lap, and very good/usable illuminatorlight. buyer beware: the stainless steel band ... Morethis watch works very well and is absolutely adorable. it is small, it looks small, even on my small wrist. i love it! it gets lots of compliments, which was unexpected. i am not sure as to how water resistant it is, as i do not swim or bath in these types of watches, thats what my g-shocks and my mdv106 are for. im sure normal hand washing, splashes, rain etc would be fine. the watch came with no box or instruction booklet, but, trust, this little piece of wrist candy does not need you to be super duper intelligent to figure it out. most of the functions/specs are labeled on the watch itself, thanks, casio jajajajaa functions are: 12/24 hour time, alarm clock, stop watch with split/lap, and very good/usable illuminatorlight. buyer beware: the stainless steel band that comes with this watch can grab onto some hair, and cause you some discomfort if it pulls. take a few moments to adjust the band properly, and you should have no worries (very easily done: i used a small flathead screwdriver to un snap the band clip, set it to my size, and then snapped it back into place). this tiny, 80s retro looking watch makes me smile every time i look at it. the last pic i have it next to a casio A158WE, for size reference.
