Built to maximize cooling potential straight out of the box, the Torrent comes with a component layout and two custom-made Dynamic PWM / Prisma RGB fans. The Torrent is a perfect fit for anyone serious about cooling - with or without a custom water loop. Designed for exceptional performance at controlled sound levels with fan hub. The 38 mm thick blades leverage power, size, and thickness for massive air-moving capacity. Streamlined through and through for component breathing room and superlative airflow. Streamlined open interior provides plenty of breathing room for components and maximizes performance potential for both air and water cooling. Front fan brackets allow for unblocked airflow to the larger fans while catering to standard radiator and fan sizes. Both front and bottom panel can support extra-thick radiators and push-pull fan configurations up to 420 mm. Seven bridgeless expansion slots allow for extensive customization. Removable top bezel and cable guides with cable straps make for easy installation and cable management. Two sturdy steel drive trays with vibration-damping rubber grommets for smooth, quiet and reliable operation. Integrated support for a water-cooling reservoir on the motherboard tray.

This being the case I picked out for my first build, I dont have much to compare to but I found this as an enjoyable case to build in and quite pleasing to look at. Now I feel like the cable management could be problem if you have a beefy system but I only have a Ryzen 5 3500 and a 1650 super from a prebuilt. I also feel like the cable management could also be more troublesome if you have SSDs and HDDs as they take up vital cable space. The fans are amazing, they are extremely quiet and with headphones youll never hear them.

The case is as big as its price tag, but whisper quiet. Set the fan profile to top out just before the 140mm fans get loud. The hub does not independently control the fans, but it's still useful. I went from a 2001 beige case of 1mm to 1.5mm square steel tubing, which was by far the strongest case I'll ever see. Going to this I can say it's stronger than 90% of what's manufactured today. My temps dropped around 10*C on the GPU and maybe 2*C on the CPU, namely due to blasting the GPU with air. CPU is water cooled with a 140mm radiator in the back (exhaust). Those with a GPU without a backplate may appreciate the included GPU bracket.

Excellent build quality and real eye candy if the design is your thing. It's well built and has a real premium feel to it. the fans offer an absurd amount of airflow and overall my 3800XT and 3070 RTX are running much cooler than before. Amazingly, no matter the load, my 3070 never reaches the higher fan speeds it used to reach in my old case. It's whisper quiet thanks to the 3x140mm fans absolutely hosing it with air directly below it. I think this design is the future (And past) of case design. The PSU needs to go back up top and the bottom of the case reserved for direct airflow to the GPU. It makes a world of difference. My case came shipped with a faulty fan controller but thankfully Fractal already replaced it for me in about 3 weeks and all is well. I ended up removing the 180mm fans out of the front of the case since i'm not currently using an Air cooled cpu. I left the triple 140mm fans on the bottom and installed my EKWB 360mm Aio in the front with a push / pull and have plenty of room (no bottom fan interference) and with a Evga RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra i have about 2 - 3 inches of space between the end of the card and my radiator fans. Overall my components stay extremely cool, the bottom fans + the vertical gpu mount keeps my rtx 3080 around 50c underload. The color scheme and appearance is nice.
its pricy but comes with all the fans it needs enjoy the top mounted power supply bay
Overall over the moon with the torrent it looks great and has more than enough air flow for any build and the few issues I had are not deal breakers.
Blown away with this case it's unique look and amazing 180mm fans with tons of expansion.
I use the machine as a workstation and a gaming machine, and not a fan of RGB, wanted something that was quiet and reserved, looked like a professional computer. This case hit all the marks. I had a Fractal Node for my previous build and wanted a more traditional tower for this 2022 setup. I had no issues with the other Fractal case for 6+ years of use, 4 moves, and lots of repositioning - it just kept going. Meanwhile other cases I have experience with would have their power buttons break after 2 months. I didn't like the extra complexity of water cooling in my previous build and wanted a case that focused on intelligent airflow, and the Fractal Torrent seemed to be the best option. The back is fully open mesh, with very little in the way, making an exhaust fan unnecessary. I see this as a very modern approach vs other brands that tend to segment the back of their cases with some solid panels and some mesh for where the fans go. After building it, I think its a waste to do water cooling in this case since its designed for airflow. It definitely has the room for larger air coolers and quite massive GPU's, installing components was super easy with plenty of head room. Included a parts list below, it all fits. Build: EVGA 1300w PSU INTEL 12900K NOCTUA D15S RTX 3090 GIGABYTE AERO-D Z690 64GB DDR5 2x SABRENT 2TB ROCKETS
This is by far the best airflow case I have ever used. I've been on the Corsair 5000d since its launch and before that were both the Meshify series cases, but none of those can touch the airflow design of the Torrent. I will definitely build in this case again.
Would recommend this for anyone that is looking to overlock an Intel or AMD setup, air or water cooled.
