I owned the original Sense and the main reason I "upgraded" to the Sense 2 was because the screen of my original Sense had the adhesive holding it in place disintegrated a few months ago, and even if I did repair it, I don't think the water resistance would still be in place.I thought this was a sign to upgrade to the new Sense 2 since normally when new products come out they improve upon the previous version. This is definitely not the case for the Sense 2.If this was the first version of the Sense (or Versa for that matter) I would probably be giving it a 4 or 5 star rating. The fitness features that remain do seem to be improved, but that's just going off a few days of use. The navigation, while different than the original Sense, does take some getting used ... The navigation, while different than the original Sense, does take some getting used to, but feels like an improvement over the original.Unfortunately for Fitbit, I do have an original Sense to compare to, and these are the features that have been removed as of my noticing, there may be more:1) No Google Assistant. The original allowed you to choose between Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa, this one just gives you Amazon Alexa. While Alexa should work for a lot of things, if you've gone in on the Google ecosystem, this can hurt.2) No Wi-Fi. The original allowed you to use Wi-Fi, so if you weren't close enough to your phone, it could still communicate with it and really sped up updates. This is nowhere to be found on this one, though rumors say it is still in the watch, just no way of activating it.3) No 3rd party apps. You used to be able to download apps on the watch like Deezer, Spotify, or C25K, not any more. You are stuck with a handful of stock apps.4) You can no longer control your phone's currently playing from the watch.5) No on wrist Bluetooth calling. The original Sense allowed you to take phone calls through your watch. The Sense 2 does not even though it has a mic, speaker, and Bluetooth.6) No Google Wallet or Google Apps (supposedly this is the only feature coming soon) even though Google owns Fitbit.7) No snore detection. This is a Fitbit premium feature supported by then Sense, but is no longer supported by the Sense 2. Even worse, once you "upgrade" your Sense to the Sense 2, your previous snore reports disappear. It really seems like Google decided that the Fitbit watches were too much competition for their own smart watch and decided to bring down the nerf hammer on the latest generation of Fitbit watches. It does not mean that the features won't come in the future as a lot of those features didn't come with the original Sense out of the box, but it seems really odd that your new product wouldn't support old features. At the moment I can not recommend the Sense 2, you would be better off getting an original Sense or a Versa 3, though who knows if they won't retroactively get rid of a lot of those features that were added after launch.

Did you love the original sense? Well, you won't love sense 2, then. It lacks the ability to download the apps you loved, it can't send and receive calls as promised- and there are no legit plans or timelines to release this feature. It can't even track water. Do you love the consistency of your smartwatch- and not having to reset it to get it to link or send essential information to the app... EVERY MORNING!? Don't buy this watch. Every day I've owned it, I've had to reset it. Most mornings, it can't register spo2 from sleep. On other days it can't get the essential preloaded apps to work. By then, you're no longer stressed anyways!"

Got this to replace my several years old Versa 2, expecting it to be a significant upgrade being a higher-tier model and two generations newer. I was sadly disappointed. Calling this a "smartwatch" is a lie, the non-fitness features have been dumbed-down to the point of uselessness. Third party apps? Nope, you can forget about Spotify control, your preferred running app, etc. Watch face selection is extremely limited compared to previous models, and gone is the ability to switch between loaded watch faces on the watch itself, you have to use the phone app for that now. Then you get to actual usage, where simple things just don't work right. The Fitbit Sense 2 Advanced Health Smartwatch has become my unwavering ally in health management. Being in a sedentary job, I needed something to keep me on my toes - literally - and this smartwatch has nailed it. It accurately tracks my daily walks, motivating me to meet my step goals, and sends subtle reminders to move when I've been idle for too long, which has been incredibly beneficial given my work nature.Equally impressive is its sleep tracking feature, providing a thorough breakdown of my sleep stages. And when my sleep isn't up to par, the device steps in with helpful tips for better sleep hygiene. The Fitbit Sense 2 doesn't stop at merely observing; it aids in stress management too. Recognizing the correlation between poor sleep and increased stress in my life, it provides tools like guided breathing and mindfulness sessions, which have been a boon during stressful workdays. Now, a feature that genuinely deserves appreciation is the silent alarm. As someone who shares a room with my wife and kids, I can't emphasize enough how invaluable this has been. The gentle wrist vibrations wake me up for work without disturbing my family's peaceful sleep - a feature that has been a game-changer in maintaining our morning routines. The design is sleek, comfortable for 24/7 wear, and the graphite finish lends it a chic, modern touch. Plus, the battery life is commendable, easily lasting a few days on a single charge. In summary, the Fitbit Sense 2 Advanced Health Smartwatch is more than a gadget; it's my personal health assistant, keeping me active, aiding in stress management, and ensuring harmonious mornings. For those looking to elevate their health and lifestyle, I couldn't recommend it more highly.
I bought this a month ago after a lot of research and I believed I was getting a good quality product. I've had nothing but issues since. The first watch that arrived was completely faulty, to the point where it never turned on. I spoke to Fitbit directly and after doing some checks with me they confirmed I had received a faulty product and offered me a replacement. I accepted, assuming it was a complete fluke and that a replacement would work correctly. Since then I have discovered that a lot of people had this happen also and it's a common problem.I had to wait 3 weeks for the replacement to come and although this one switches on and, for the most part, works there are multiple unfixable faults. The stress management app doesn't work at all and after speaking ... I am so disappointed.
Unrelated to the seller, the Fit 2 does not have 3rd party apps allowed. Do NOT buy this if you're looking to have third party apps.Related to the seller, when the watch arrived it appeared to be in working condition. I bought it in white from this seller and a black one from a different one; when my partner and I began wearing them, however, we noticed a huge difference. The one I bought from this seller does not track heartbeat well, doesn't respond to sensor feedback, barely tracks steps and burned calories AND its battery dies EXTREMELY quickly. For a device meant to have a several day battery life (which, mine does! but this one doesn't), it was extremely telling that the battery life of the one I bought from this seller was horrible.I missed the return ... I was due for an upgrade with my fitness tracker/watch. I previously had the FitBit Charge 2. I researched fitness watches earlier in the year and saw the FitBit Sense 2 was most likely going to be released this year, so I waited for it to be announced and then pre-ordered it. I chose the Sense 2 because I liked the features and the battery life. I wanted the fitness and health features and the phone/text notifications. I also like the sleep mode feature, which keeps the screen dark while sleeping. That was my biggest issue with the Charge 2 along with the phone/text notifications not being reliable. I looked at Apple Watch 8, but the battery life isn’t as good as Sense 2 and I didn’t want all the smartphone app stuff. The price is in line with a lot of the newer ... It actually was more blue than it appears on photos, which was a positive for me. It matches my Sierra Blue iPhone 13 Pro, so that’s cool. The band style is not my favorite and I prefer the Charge 2 style which had a more traditional watch band style. This one can leave marks on your wrist and might rub your skin if you make it too tight. I use the small band on the third hole and my wrist is about 7” around.
Coming from the original Sense to the Sense 2 I love the improvements made. I only switched as a result of my sense screen coming loose from the body after 2 1/2 years of daily use. I never really used the assistant so the loss of the Google assistant doesn't bother me. The switch to the physical side button is appreciated as I no longer have the issue of the touch button on the original being triggered while working out in the gym and stopping or pausing the workout tracking. This also goes great with the ability to turn off notifications while working out as well. The display is also improved including when you do receive messages as the app logo pops up first so you know which app the message was sent from. If you're coming from the original Sense you will have to adjust to the layout changes as they are different in how you access settings, alarms, etc. But doesn't take long once you spend enough time leaning the new layout. You can still use all your bands from the original Sense. The new Stress tracking is impressive as it does pop up when it notices changes from the sensors and it definitely can be good, bad , or indifferent as it's making me aware of changes in mood, thought, and environment that I didn't think about it just ignore in day to day life. Overall I'm satisfied with the watch as it's mainly for fitness & health purposes and gives me so the info I need and has great battery life.
I was hoping to review this item after I finally got it working properly. Unfortunately, I have just talked Fitbit into taking it back and sending me a new one after about 6 weeks. So some of the problems I'm having may be either a bad design or an unusually poor production sample. I have been with Fitbit since 2014 and love their interface, sleep tracking, display, battery life, and app. I purchased a Fitbit Ionic when it first came out and it worked beautifully. When I upgraded to the original Sense, the biggest problem I had was that it failed to register an accurate heart rate when using something like an elliptical. When I upgraded to the original Sense, the biggest problem I had was that it failed to register an accurate heart rate when using something like an elliptical. But upgrading to this Sense 2 has brought on additional problems. It still does not keep up with heart rate on the elliptical but now the GPS operation is considerably degraded. On our 6 mile walks the Sense 2 is off by about 20%. In addition, the user interface has changed considerably, not for the better in my opinion. The addition of Google Maps does not offset the loss of hey Google.
FitBit was my first health tracker and I love the brand. I went from an Inspire to a Charge to a Sense and hesitated on upgrading to Sense 2 because it actually lacked features the original Sense had. In reality, I don't miss anything that isn't on the Sense 2 and I have more confidence in the readings since it is newer tech. I also really like the all day stress detection. If the device gets input indicating I'm stressed, it will ask me how I feel; stressed, worried, excited, etc. Keeps me aware of what's going on and how I'm responding. The only thing I "dislike" is there is no longer an option to manually order exercises. There is a list of recently selected exercises, so it's not a big deal, just something new to get used to. I wouldn't go back if they paid me. Very glad I didn't switch to Apple Watch. I'm FitBit for life.
