About a week ago my wife's grandma sold her house and split the money up with her kids and grandkids. With my portion of the funds, I wanted a new guitar. My previous guitar was a Squier Tele Custom. I was looking to get the Squier 50's Vibe Strat. Ive often payed them and it had everything I wanted in a guitar and at a great price. When I got to the store my wife suggested I get a real Fender instead of a Squier (I wasn't gonna argue that) and so I saw this guitar. It wasn't too much more than the 50's Vibe. The quality is outstanding. I got the brown sunburst with the maple neck. I was looking for a SSS strat, but I like a little distortion and I thought the humbucker wouldn't hurt. I was already used to the neck because it is pretty similar to my Tele, however ...Ā MoreAbout a week ago my wife's grandma sold her house and split the money up with her kids and grandkids. I was already used to the neck because it is pretty similar to my Tele, however this neck has an awesome finish and the back is so soft and smooth. No fret buzz or problems anywhere on the neck. When I got to an amp at home, I used a small GDec amp that came with my brothers Squier Strat combo thing. I was surprised at the amp itself. The sound of the guitar was just like I wanted. It has those classic Strat tones I was looking for but can also handle some distortion. I used to own a strat and the pickups buzzed alot, with this guitar they don't buzz at all even with high gain. The tremolo is nice, and stays in tune pretty well except for the D string, so I just widened the nut slot for the D and its perfect.Overall, I would recommend this guitar to anyone, even if you are new or experienced. its a very affordable Fender with the same Quality as American Strats I've played.

I purchased this instrument because I started to get better on the acoustic and I want to play some blues and surf licks. Nothing better then a strat for that purpose. I don't usually put such a high rating to a non-us made piece of gear, but I must admit that the Mexican factory is manufacturing some serious stuff.I just picked this mexican HSS brown sunburst with Mapple neck Strat.Feature wise, it's hard to beat a Strat.I use it with an old Peavey Classic 50/212 amp and it sounds great. It was a hard choice betwee the hss and the single coil bridge pickup. I love both equaly. The humbucker pickup has a more up front sound and would probably be better for solos than the single coil bridge pickup which has a prettier rythm sound. When mixed with with the midle pickup it doesn't make much difference anymore. The pickups are hot enough to get a bit of crunch from the clear channel. Sounds very nice with a Little Big Muff. For the price, I'm impressed by mexican made Fender guitars. I am a bass player and favor US made instruments for basses, but it doesn't seem so make such a difference with guitars. The neck and fret work is impecable, and the body resonates very well. It feels sturdy and is agreable to play. Bridge and nuts are the same as US made. Switches and knobs are not making any noise.I can lower the action at the bridge a lot without buzz, but I will lower the action at the nut to get this playability. Nothing wrong with the nut, I just like it better when lower and I can do it myself, but the factory setting is REALLY good compared to an Epiphone Les Paul for sample. The Fender strings which came with it sounded great, but I switched right away to DR pure blues 9-42 strings which last much longer and stay better in tune. They are a bit stiffer though, so I had to adjust the neck right away. I always loved the sound of Fender strings, but they tend to break early, and usually decideto break during a gig.Great value. Good playability and sounding insturment. If you want a better sounding strat, install different pickups.

This guitar was a great step up from the Squier my son has been playing for the last couple years. His talent had outstripped the Squier and it has really been amazing to hear how much better he plays and sounds with this guitar. If you can't quite afford the MIA Strat, definitely go for this MIM Strat. You won't be sorry. I am a fairly casual guitar player, good enough to play many things and be able to hear the difference between good players and guitars. Enjoy!

"Squier CV50 or MIM fender" deciding which one to buy was the task I had in front of me. MIM is made up of better quality parts than CV50 and when you consider the small price differential with the offer from Bajaao it was an easy call. Buying online from Bajaao was a nice experience, excellent support from sales engineers and fast delivery. I received factory sealed Box within 7 days of me placing the order. The guitar was set up not up to the level I would prefer, I had to give it a proper tweak (personal preference) to make it what it is capable of. Mind you that it was playable right out of the box, but like any guitar one will have to make fine adjustments to get it to your liking. The MIM standard pick up is not as bad as some in forums say, it is capable of ...Ā More"Squier CV50 or MIM fender" deciding which one to buy was the task I had in front of me. Mind you that it was playable right out of the box, but like any guitar one will have to make fine adjustments to get it to your liking. The MIM standard pick up is not as bad as some in forums say, it is capable of good tones and can stand upto Squier CV50. Nice resonant body and matte finish neck was beefier and non stick when compared to Squier CV. Major difference was noticed was in volume and tone controls they have more functional range, not the narrow spot seen on the lower model. If one can manage to spent the extra over the Squier CV it is worth. Please get your guitar set up properly by tech before evaluating, all guitars need final tweaking, the extend of tweaking needed is more for lower priced ones.

I realized this wouldn't be a new players series, so I was ok with getting one of the older standards from 2017 model year in 2019. Guitar arrived safely and boxed in another box which was nice.Feels and plays nice, the strings on it are really rusty I assume it was strung up back in 2016/17 and has sat in a warehouse for a while, and again I am fine with all that. The only negative and I won't be returning this, for the price it was a no brainer, is that I got no trem arm in the box, this was a sealed fender box so I can't exactly fault Adorama on that one, usually in the cardboard inserts you find a small allen wrench a sticker a trem arm that sorta thing, but nope not in mine.I will find a trem arm in my box of stuff here, after a small setup and string ...Ā MoreI realized this wouldn't be a new players series, so I was ok with getting one of the older standards from 2017 model year in 2019. Okay, out of the box this was, as my luthier neighbor said, "unplayable". Action sky high and a couple other issues he mentioned. Once he dialed it in for me, it has been fantastic. So I recommend getting a professional setup.Neck is fast and easy to shred on, body is nice and light, strats are maybe the most comfortable guitars to play.Sound is where I took off a star. The single coils give that strat quack. The hum bucker is nice and thick. But the two don't seem to go together well if that makes any sense. Switch to the hum bucker and it sounds like a completely different guitar. Not really in a good way, it's kind of jarring, especially the volume change as the hum bucker is MUCH louder.Had it two years now and thanks to a proper setup I have only done one ...Ā MoreOkay, out of the box this was, as my luthier neighbor said, "unplayable". The Standard Mexican made Fender Stratocaster of course looks like a typical Stratocaster and itās pretty much what you would expect from a modern Strat. It has a small 50s/60s size headstock, a Maple neck and Fretboard and they now come with medium jumbo fret wire (that a lot of guitarists, including myself prefer over the older, thinner vintage sized fretwire). The neck profile is a smooth, moern āCā shape that is finished off in a thin coat of satin varnish, which your hand slides easily over, unlike a lot of the glossy finishes that your hand seems to stick too.The Fender Website describes the C shape neck profile asā¦C-shaped neck profile. The most common modern neck profile. C-shaped necks have a comfortable oval profile that works well for most playing styles. Usually not as deep as most U- and V-shaped neck profiles. Many Fender guitars, especially Stratocasters, now have a āmodern C shapeā (or āflat ovalā) neck profile, a flattened variation of the traditional C shape.
The Mexican-made Fender Stratocasters being made between the late 1990s through the mid-2010s are excellent guitars. The feel is unmatched by any other instrument I have ever played and the tone of the ceramic magnets is distinctive, tight, musical and strong without being muddy, nasally or excessively trebly. On clean amp settings, the neck pickups deliver the distinctive bluesy tone that only Fender Strats and Teles can offer. In the combined middle and bridge pickup settings on the single-coil Strats and the tone knobs in the right position dials in the ear-pleasing jangly pop guitar sound made famous by a number of pop and R&B records throughout the 1980s. Just one of the most versatile and wonderful sounding instruments you will Ever play.
Right out of the box, this ax played and sounded like a dream! I do plan on taking her to my local luthier, but only because I play a 10 guage string and she came with 9ers on her. But as of yet, I just can't part with her! You can't go wrong with this guitar and for the money, one of the best purchases I have made in a while. To Bill, the sales rep I dealt with...I should be upset with you. As a semi semi retired player (read Church and very lucrative private gigs, I'm to old to fool with the bar scene anymore) I make my extra income with my acoustic 80% of the time. But I haven't picked up my old beater Yamaha nor my Ovation since this thing came. Thanks Bill, very professional, very polite, I will definitely deal with you and Musicians Friend again.
