Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Lift and Firm Cream Makeup SPF15 200N 30ml

I had never tried Elizabeth Arden products before, as I naively associated it with the Queen of England and thought of it as being just for older ladies. Granted, now that I'm closer to 40 than 30, I'm rapidly approaching that category myself. I've tried a few different foundations with added skincare benefits over the last few years, and none of them sat well on my face and either looked cakey or greasy. This cream makeup strikes the perfect balance and makes my skin glowy but not greasy, with fantastic coverage for my (admittedly age related) problem areas. The consistency is thick and more face cream than foundation, and goes on smooth and perfect with fingers or a blender. My skin tone and texture are even, pores and blemished and dark undereyes are covered, and I look 30 again! The added ceramides are actually nourishing and plumping my skin while I wear it, giving lasting benefits even after washing off at the end of the day. I noticed healthier looking skin after only 3 days of wearing this makeup all day, and it stayed put and looking fabulous with just a small amount of setting powder. The jar it comes in in heavy thick glass, and I appreciate the ability to use up every last drop. I'm so pleased with the wonders it does to my complexion and will continue to enjoy looking younger and more refreshed.

This makeup is so gorgeous I had to give it a five star rating despite having a few gripes about it that made me consider knocking a star off. It’s probably 4.5 stars from me. It’s a rich, thick cream, and you only need a little but you can use a little more to build up from medium to full coverage. The texture is so thick and heavy and creamy, I don’t like that I can feel it on my face, I prefer foundations that feel weightless. But it really does do an excellent job of covering redness and uneven skin tone and imperfections. Your complexion will look exquisite. So natural, yet so much better than natural. Unfortunately I blended and blended and blended with my fingers and still saw a few areas where it looked like it needed to be blended further; maybe use a mirror with good lighting, perhaps try a makeup sponge (I’ve never used one personally). The difficulty in blending this makeup flawlessly makes application a bit annoying. That’s another gripe I have about this foundation. But the fact that it doesn’t blend perfectly isn’t very noticeable closeup and you can’t tell at all from a distance - and honestly just gently blend as best as you can and poof a little powder over your face and it should look like perfection (powder certainly perfects the look). This cream foundation also is noncomedogenic and has a bunch of desirable anti-aging properties. It moisturizes and helps support the skin’s barrier. It features “Ceramide Triple Complex” for lifting, plumping, and firming skin. I really feel like I’m doing something good for my skin when I’m wearing this foundation - it’s makeup and skincare in one which is always a plus for me. I feel like my 36-year-old maturing skin actually benefits from wearing this foundation … while so often foundations are bad for your skin or kind of neutral. It claims to help to improve fine lines, wrinkles, skin’s firmness and elasticity. That’s pretty impressive, I want to see the effects of wearing this regularly over a period of time. I have fine lines under my eyes and my skin needs firmness and elasticity for sure. My skin could definitely stand to look younger, plumper and more lifted and lovely. After I wear this makeup and wash it off my skin always looks so fresh and beautiful but I also have an excellent cleanser. Complexion looks smooth and even and the shade is absolutely ideal for my skin tone. I can’t tell much of a difference at all between the color of this makeup and the color of my skin once I start blending. This cream foundation comes in a thick glass jar that looks a little on the upscale side, it doesn’t look like there’s a lot at first glance but there really is a lot as it turns out, because you don’t need to use too much, just a nice dab or two. I think this stuff will last me a good long time. Lastly, my complexion just really looks beautiful and natural and nearly flawless when wearing this luxurious foundation and a powder over it, I look healthier and more radiant, even after removing the makeup. I’m impressed, but keep in mind it’s hard to blend perfectly with fingers and it does feel sort of heavy. (I still want to wear it for the rest of my life.) I love the medium-full coverage, I prefer building up to full coverage personally, and I love the beautiful professional makeup effect achieved by wearing it. Makes me want to go out on the town!

Sometimes I use things for combination skin and it may or may not work. If I use some thing for dry skin it tends to work better, but sometimes its too thick. So it just depends on the product. I’m actually looking forward to using this in the spring and summer when it’s warmer, I wouldn’t use this in the winter when my skin is usually drier from the cold. I don’t wear foundation every day, but if I did not put on some type of moisturizer with this it would be too dry. So if you have dry skin, make sure to put on moisturizer before you put this on. If you have oily skin, you don’t need moisturizer. Combination skin you have to try it out and see how you feel. This product is more of a full coverage tinted moisturizer because it has skin care and acts like a foundation. I have a big sunspot on my face, and it covered it flawlessly. This feels like silk on the skin. It made my skin feel baby soft. I love touching my skin with this particular product. Unfortunately, the color was a little bit too light for me. They only had four choices and there was one darker shade and since I’m tan, I thought the one before it would be closer to my complexion, but it was still more in the medium range. I’m really curious to see what their color selection and color range is going to be like overall. Because it is a matte finish it made me look like a beautiful doll. Once I put all my makeup on, I looked amazing on camera, in pictures and in person. I’m only 44 so my skin is still firm, so I didn’t see any lift or additional firmness. I like this formulation. I haven't had the best experiences with full coverage foundations in the past as they tend to make my pores stand out. It wasn't the case with the Elizabeth Arden lift and firm cermide makeup. I think it's the added ceramides that makes a difference. I typically use serums in my bb creams to try to combat any sort of amplification of pores etc, I wanted to try the lift and firm on its own to get a good idea of the product itself. I didn't have any creasing around my mouth or eyes after a full day of wear and the shade complimented my skin tone well. I didn't even need to add any serums to help the hydration of the product. First of all it’s hard to pick a shade compared to online photos but the 420C was a perfect shade. The pictures online really helped me pick the true color for myself. Second of all my box came with so many goodies and extras. I received two deluxe samples of some skincare as well as a perfume sample which smelled amazing!Back to the foundation itself. It’s so creamy and smooth. It reminds me of a moose consistency without the actual moose and air. It’s very lightweight but covered all of my imperfections. First off, the shade they sent me, 250N, was a bit lighter than my usual, but hey, I gave it a shot anyway.Now, I’m usually all about liquid foundation. My skin’s usually combo, but lately, it’s been drier than the Sahara thanks to some meds.
