Overall, it's been good. It's taken some adjustment to get used to the noise difference from my Whirlpool Deluxe that I loved. I don't love how long the "normal" setting takes to dry on the auto setting, doesn't seem energy efficient at all. I don't like how the times between the Electrolux Washer and Dryer aren't synced to run more similar time-wise to make it easier to do laundry quicker/more efficient. My Whirlpool Deluxe set was better at this. I'm trying to figure out different settings for the way I do laundry to make it energy and time efficient. It was daunting to pick a new washer and dryer set when I was so happy with my 15+ year old set that just wore out after countless repairs. Getting used to a new set takes time not only with the new/different noises (mine is on the main floor, tucked in a open closet that can't have doors) but also figuring out which cycle works best for the way and type of laundry I have to do. I love the bright light that is in it, and have figured out how to turn it back on when I'm not finished. Overall, it's been good.

Disappointed

Pretty disappointed with the quality of this dryer. Seems like Electrolux is getting cheap with manufacturing. We have a low countertop and Electrolux is currently the only brand that will fit in the space. Our last Electrolux dryer (EFMG627UIW) lasted 3.5 years. The felt seal on the drum rubbed off the enamel finish on the drum back wall, rust formed and started staining clothing. The easiest solution was to replace the dryer and give Electrolux one more try. If this doesn't work out, we will remodel the laundry room and buy a different brand. After installing this new dryer (ELFG7637AW), here are my thoughts.1. LOUD. Overall when running the dryer it is loud. But most noticeably, the dryer door is constructed very cheaply. After installing this new dryer (ELFG7637AW), here are my thoughts.1. LOUD. Overall when running the dryer it is loud. But most noticeably, the dryer door is constructed very cheaply. If you simply tap your finger on the window of the door, it rattles. The outside part of the door is a thin piece of plastic. When you run the dryer that thin layer of plastic rattles against the rest of the door. Very annoying.2. The dryer has default settings and it reverts to those default settings every time the dryer is turned on. For example, I like to run the dryer on "timed dry" setting. Even after running it on "timed dry," next time I turn it on it sets itself to "normal" mode. I would prefer it stay on the setting I last used. Not the end of the world, but definitely annoying.Fortunately for me, I was able to solve the first problem. Remember I said I replaced a 3.5 year old Electrolux dryer? Well the door construction on that model was pretty good. They didn't use thin, cheap plastic. It's actually a pretty substantial door and the measurements match exactly to this current model. So installed the door from the old unit onto the new unit and it's awesome!! Not only does the door not rattle, but overall the dryer is quieter because of the thicker material. Really goes to show that Electrolux is cutting costs on manufacturing even though the price of the dryer is more expensive.

Do Not Buy

If I could give zero stars, I would. After the ordeal I had with Home Depot and Electrolux getting this washer dryer set delivered and installed (a month late and countless hours on the phone), I really wanted to love it. My old set was Electrolux and it worked beautifully until it didn't. I did my research, endlessly, and decided that of all the reviews, I could probably live with the things that people complained about, because other brands seemed worse. But these machines are close to useless. They do wash and dry. But both are completely ineffective at managing dog hair. The dryer lint trap is awkward and messy, which wouldn't be a huge deal if it wasn't so useless with actually removing lint from the clothes. I opened the dryer after drying a blanket, and there ... MoreIf I could give zero stars, I would. The dryer lint trap is awkward and messy, which wouldn't be a huge deal if it wasn't so useless with actually removing lint from the clothes. I opened the dryer after drying a blanket, and there was dog hair all over the dryer, inside the door, all over the fins. (The washer is apparently just as useless with dog hair, as obviously it made it through the wash cycle.) I used to be able to set the length of time for an air dry cycle. This one defaults to 5 minutes and you can't change it. The washing machine doesn't remove odors from clothes, which makes me wonder about its effectiveness too. I had clean clothes that had been washed in a scented detergent, which I hate. I rewashed them in this new machine, and they came out still smelling like scented detergent.I've had these units for less than 24 hours, and I will be selling them and buying something else (and not from Home Depot). I'm so angry and disappointed at this whole ordeal, both from Home Depot and Electrolux. Note that my first washing machine arrived DOA, and Electrolux in their supreme competence ordered me a replacement dryer, which thankfully I caught before delivery, but which set me back a further 2 weeks waiting for this stupid washing machine. Useless, ineffective and poorly designed.

Don’t think twice, buy the set!!

Well, the dryer Whirpool dryer that came when we purchased the house a few years back, died (control board caught on fire during lightning storm). We weren’t looking to purchase, but figured we had no choice so bought the Electrolux washer/dryer set. We had purchased a previous Electrolux washer/dryer set years back. Our current laundry room is finished with built in countertop, sink and backsplash that go over the washer/dryer.We were limited with height of set and Electrolux was one on the few under 38” that would fit and could get in three days! I am not going to laundromat for weeks awaiting arrival. So, we bought them! When the washer tells me it has 23 minutes left- it has 23 minutes left! No more guessing. The dryer also has steam function and dries well! The would have given them 4.5 stars, as my only complaint is that I have to bend so far down to get clothes- which if I didn’t have the counter I could have purchased risers; however, someone looking to purchase should know the appliances are very low!But my clothes are clean and I am happy!!

Dryer leaks water!

Dryer door leaks water. Yes Dryer! Leaks water onto the Washer Dial. Had service out twice and we are sending the pair back and replacing with Samsung. We have had these for 6 weeks. There are only two of us with a pair of smaller stacked Electrolux washer & dryer upstairs, my wife uses for her personal laundry. So... We haven't used the ELFG7637AW0 but a few times. The other issue with the dryer is the lint... We just remodeled our laundry room and put all new custom dryer exhaust to the outside. The Amount of lint that bypasses the filter is unacceptable. The outside vent has been cleaned once since delivered and it is already 60precent full of lint. The amount of lint entering into the machine past the lint filter is crazy. The dryer looks 5years old already. The service tech said I had to wash the filter after use of the machines. Laundry should not be any more work than it has to be. As for the washer... It makes a grinding noise and is not as good as the Samsung we had for 15 years. For the money these machines are built very cheaply and I would recommend you but an alternative product. Would have left pictures but this site works about as good as the washer and dryer.

Incredible Dryer

I bought this dryer to replace a 28-year old Maytag and have been impressed so far with the quality of this machine. It is significantly quieter and more energy efficient the my previous dryer. It is the first time that the king sized bedding have not had dampness is areas when initially removed from the dryer. Other fabrics, such as jeans and shirts, have also been completely dry without appearing to be overly dry. The lint filter's design allows for nearly all of the lint to remain in the trap, although there are very small amounts that stick to the door's rubber gasket that are difficult to remove. With many of the interior components made of plastic, it is hard to determine how long items such as the door latch and the lint filter parts will last before they ... MoreI bought this dryer to replace a 28-year old Maytag and have been impressed so far with the quality of this machine. The only complaint I have is the full manual seems to gloss over many of the options for drying without explaining the best way to use and option; for example, the Anti-Static option and the Perfect Steam option are described in nearly identical terms. In general, however, I am extremely pleased with the operation of this gas dryer, and highly recommend it to everyone.

Not a great experience

We have owned this Electrolux washer/dryer set since July. The washer is fantastic. The dryer, unfortunately, had arrived damaged and I did not notice the problem until when drying the first load the unit made a terrible grinding noise. The issue was a dented side panel, and the panel was replaced under warranty. Now, at only 3 months old, the dryer stopped working in the middle of a load. The first Electrolux authorized repair company (same that had replaced the dented panel) was just trying random things and finally said it needed a thermostat; they were not interested in answering any questions and were dismissive. At this point I called Electrolux and informed them that I wanted the dryer replaced; they said they would not do so until a technician "authorized" ... MoreWe have owned this Electrolux washer/dryer set since July. The first Electrolux authorized repair company (same that had replaced the dented panel) was just trying random things and finally said it needed a thermostat; they were not interested in answering any questions and were dismissive. At this point I called Electrolux and informed them that I wanted the dryer replaced; they said they would not do so until a technician "authorized" the replacement. They sent a technician from a different company who diagnosed the dryer as having a bad heating element. I asked the technician to recommend that the dryer be replaced and he said that he would. When I called the repair company to follow up, they had not yet sent the technician's report to Electrolux which, for an inexplicable reason, can take up to two business days. They also said they could not tell me what was in the report, only that it DID NOT recommend replacement because "all repair options had not yet been exhausted." So this means that the repair company they sent was not honest with me, but that's a whole different story. At this point I am at my wits end with this faulty dryer. Admittedly I've read reviews like this in the past and thought the reviewers were likely being dramatic, but I can honestly say the hoops one is made to jump through to get a fix on a BRAND NEW appliance are absolutely ridiculous. In the scheme of things it's not a huge issue but at the same time, we'll be going on 3 weeks without a working dryer and not only does Electrolux clearly not want to replace it, they also seem to insist on moving at an absolutely glacial pace for the repairs. I spent a lot of time researching washer/dryer units before settling on Electrolux and I'm dismayed that it seems I may have made a mistake. If anyone from the company bothers to read this I would really appreciate some action here. For fellow consumers, be aware that the washer IS great but the dryer seems prone to issues. 2 stars for the dryer only because it DOES work well WHEN it works.

Very Nice Machines--Quiet and Effective

This dryer and companion washer replaced a 15 year old Bosch 500 set. We've had the new machines for a couple of weeks. We ordered the machines in white. We hadn't had any prior experience with Electorlux, but had heard good things about the brand. We have not been disappointed with the new machines. The machines are a little shorter than competing brands we looked at. The space we have is 38 1/4" tall. The machines are 38" tall. They clean and dry everything very well. We are quite impressed with both the washer and dryer. Hopefully, these machines will last a long time.

unbelievably happy with this dryer!

10 months ago, we bought this dryer (with its matching washer which i am SOOOO happy about) after MUCH research and endless reading of reviews on many different websites. the final clincher for me was a (fortunate) phone call i happened to have with a home depot employee who worked with large appliances and processing their returns. she let on that electrolux had far and away fewer returns than any other brand, and especially compared to samsung. we were really on the fence because of the hefty price tag, but, in the long run, looked at it as an investment into our family.we use the machines nearly every day, and oh, my GOSH are we impressed with this set. our clothes have never come out so clean - and i mean NEVER. i've had samsung, LG, and whirlpool sets in the ... More10 months ago, we bought this dryer (with its matching washer which i am SOOOO happy about) after MUCH research and endless reading of reviews on many different websites. the final clincher for me was a (fortunate) phone call i happened to have with a home depot employee who worked with large appliances and processing their returns. she let on that electrolux had far and away fewer returns than any other brand, and especially compared to samsung. we were really on the fence because of the hefty price tag, but, in the long run, looked at it as an investment into our family.we use the machines nearly every day, and oh, my GOSH are we impressed with this set. our clothes have never come out so clean - and i mean NEVER. i've had samsung, LG, and whirlpool sets in the past, and also dealt with the dreaded shared apartment laundry room speed queens. all of them have been garbage compared to this machine.i am quite pleased with all of the different settings, but, my favourite is the delicate cycle. it's so gentle with our clothes, we don't find them pilling.this dryer is worth every penny we paid. thankful we took a chance on it, and could not recommend it more!
