This is my first Dyson vacuum. After researching for six months and reading lots of reviews, both good and bad, I took the leap into the world of Dyson, the outcome, I absolutely love it! I have back problems so I didn't want something that was cumbersome and awkward to use. The Upright vacuum is easy to manoeuvre, moves easily from wooden floors to carpeted areas to tiled floors with fantastic suction. It is very easy to empty, although the bin is a little small, but I don't find having to empty a problem. It is easy to take apart for cleaning and reassemble. The only downside of the vacuum would be that I find the hose is a little difficult to use. It doesn't seem to extend properly and you have to drag the whole vacuum cleaner and it is a bit difficult on stairs. ... MoreThis is my first Dyson vacuum. It would be good if the metal extendable arm could be detached from the hose for easier cleaning of small areas / hard to vacuum areas. The other downside is that is does not fit under furniture and the hose / extendable arm are a bit difficult to use. Apart from those two little blemishes, I would certainly buy another.

We are a long term Dyson owner having had the very first upright, we then purchased another upright which we also had for many years this was also excellent. We purchased our Dyson Ball nearly 3 years ago, I spend. more of my time trying to unblock the machine than cleaning. It is a. Very fiddly and difficult machine to unblock considering how often this happens. Ours was the animal version supposedly suitable for a household with pets. Our dogs and cat are all short haired. Generally this is a very difficult and hard to use machine that I would not recommend to anyone.

I used to have an older Dyson Upright on Wheels, and have used the Cordless Stick Vacuums before. I found that the Cordless Stick Vacuums are good, but not as versatile as the old fashioned Upright, so I decided to get Dyson Light Ball Multi Floor Upright and have found I love vacuuming again. This Upright has almost all the features of the old Upright on wheels, but is so much easier to push around the floor and the furniture, while having the versatility to be a hand-held vac with an extension handle for those hard to reach places. The only negative aspect is that it does not have an on-board mounting for all the attachments, which is the only drawback. I love the look of the carpet after it is cleaned, I can give it the 'just shampooed' look every time, something ... MoreI used to have an older Dyson Upright on Wheels, and have used the Cordless Stick Vacuums before. DYSON has been in my life since their inception. I have purchased vacuums, fans, lighting and most recently this DYSON. I wanted a cheaper stand-up model for my upstairs as I have V11(which is 4 out of 5 stars). Well, I indeed did get a ‘cheaper’ DYSON and not in a good way! Unfortunately, the vacuum bar has an area on the roller that does not have suction and therefore, vacuuming means a lot more work. Also, there was a hole about 1 cm in the cyclone net which is no big deal as I don’t think it affects the functioning of the vacuum but it still is defective. Lastly, you lose suction power over time because fine dust accumulates in the cyclone panels (and it is difficult to remove) which means airflow is compromised. All in all, I love DYSON but would not recommend ... MoreDYSON has been in my life since their inception. I have purchased vacuums, fans, lighting and most recently this DYSON. I will never purchase another Dyson Cleaner purely on this experience. The reason I wrote livid is because Dyson markets itself on being at the cutting edge of design and charges its customers for it, yet this is one of the worst designed pieces of equipment I have ever had the displeasure of using. The machine is extremely heavy and cumbersome. On carpet the roller brush assists somewhat to assist the push and pull effort, however it is still a workout. I would go as far as saying that a person of slight/ elderly build would find it almost impossible to use. The roller brushes stopped working mid stream and I had to physically lift it off the carpet to start the rollers again. (Nearly pulling my shoulder in the process). The roller brushes stopped working mid stream and I had to physically lift it off the carpet to start the rollers again. (Nearly pulling my shoulder in the process). When using the hose and wand attached, even at half extension the entire vacuum cleaner toppled over. The plastic handle feels very brittle and of poor quality. You could not utilise this vacuum under a bed. Even if you use the hose/ wand attachments there are no heads appropriate for this purpose. I would implore Dyson to seriously consider the future design and quality of your vacuum cleaners. Your name is no longer synonymous with the marketing hype, in my eyes nor in the eyes of 2 other family members who have purchased other models over the last 5 years. And yes. I will certainly be writing an email to your feedback email you have supplied other customers with. My priority was to post this to save others from such disappointment and waste of over $500.
Oh Dear, I bought a new Dyson. Unfortunately it isn't a patch on the old one, the motor head has failed again. This one lasted a month. The release tab for the bin door broke off after two weeks. Harvey Norman were very helpful, they suggested that the $997.00 represented great value for money when compared to other makes. With a MTBF of just three months I beg to differ, I will not be repairing it again, it will be adapted to perform duties as a dust extractor for my Makita Sander. I will never purchase another Dyson product, the build quality is third rate, no doubt due to regional manufacturing, you where that is. The quality of the product is about as good as a 2003 Chery car.
You know, we outlay BIG money for Dyson because of it's past history of being a item to own with a very HIGH standard in quality, and this was true til the last 7 years! I have always owned Dyson and feel a little gutted right now whether or not to procure, yet again, another one and to have it fail within a couple of years! Over the past 7 years, exactly the same thing happened! I purchased a new one 7 years ago which lasted 4 yrs and the sucking capacity died. I had it 'repaired' however it never sucked properly again so i replaced it with another. At now, just one 3 yrs of age, exactly the same thing has happened. The suction capacity is nil! Do i purchase yet another Dyson or go elsewhere? Having owned a Dyson upright vacuum for 10 years and being very pleased with it, it was time we finally retired it and purchased a Dyson Light Ball Multi Floor Vacuum - UP16 which we received this morning. Excitedly we trialled on our hard floors. It worked as well as expected. However when it was used on our carpet upstairs the disappointment soon set in. The rotating head on the front moved no more than a few meters before it stopped spinning. Reset after reset did not help and it became obvious there is a serious design flaw with this vacuum. The bracket around the rotating head draws down completely on the carpet and it is impossible to move the vacuum without a huge amount of pressure. Dyson were contacted and they were hopeless. Giving us a scripted response of absolute rubbish. Very bad all round experience. Under Aust consumer law it must be repaired replaced or reimbursed for the cost. I don’t really want anything other than a properly working vacuum. Poor effort Dyson!
This is an excellent product generally with the discount price. I brought it before Christmas. The best suction power never ever, wonderfully edge cleaning level.Easy maneuverablility with The Ball technology. You will definitely feel it is lighter than what it is while you use. It goes where you want instantly other than a barrel-style vacuum that you have to organize the barrel to go around corner behind you while you return. There are some cons which do not really affect the usage: 1. The design of the parts are very elaborate. It needs extra care to use and maintain in case of parts snapped. Please follow the instruction steps by steps. Dont force it. 2. The magnetic spring in the soft pipe has strong cling force, which is easy for the user to retrack the pipe ... MoreThis is an excellent product generally with the discount price. However, it is a little bit hard to extend pipe to reach far while using. 3. In conjunction with the above, the red hard pipe handle is a little too long to bend while reaching close. It is good to reach the window or ceiling. But definitely not somewhere around your feet. 4. The last you may ignore. The red plastice part does not look fancy. Someone says it looks like a cheap plastic toy. In my option, some metallic bits can be added into the plastic in the production line. That makes the plastic shine.
i have owned dyson products for a long time and have found that it is worth spending the extra to buy a superior product. the suction and bagless canister, of the dyson brand, i find is superior to other vavuums. After watching many online reviews i was quite impressed with what this vacuum was capable of as it, like most other upright vacuums, had an extension hose and wand which is handy in combination with the usabilty of the upright. however after setting it up and using this vacuum i have found it to be less user friendly than the cannister vacuums like the dyson ball. i have found that the the upright is quite heavy to push and pull and is quite cumbersome to manouver especially around furniture. also when i would use the wand / hose attachment the whole unit ... Morei have owned dyson products for a long time and have found that it is worth spending the extra to buy a superior product. the suction and bagless canister, of the dyson brand, i find is superior to other vavuums.
