I was so excited to finally get to try one of the infamous Dyson hair styling tools! The Dyson Corrale is a flat iron that has the option to be used without a cord and is also rechargeable. The Corrale has a maximum temperature of 410 degrees. I have naturally curly 3c/4a hair that's thick and mid length. I washed and blow dried my hair first and then used the Dyson Corrale to finish off my look. Pros: * cordless option - great because you don't have to worry about the cord getting in the way when using and it can be convenient when on the go * leaves hair shiny and sleek - I have black hair which can sometimes look dull if not styled properly and the Dyson gave my finished look sleekness and with a nice sheen * works great on thicker and curly textured hair - ...Ā MoreI was so excited to finally get to try one of the infamous Dyson hair styling tools! If part of the wonder of this iron is its ability to be cordless, I'd expect at least an hour. *could be difficult to travel with via plane - while the Dyson has a airplane mode feature, you must remember to set it to that mode and for international travel, some countries such as Japan wouldn't allow you to travel in or out the country by plane due to the battery * Price! - while the Dyson Corrale did everything it promised and is a great flat iron, I'm not sure if I would say it's worthy of a $500 price tag. I could understand up to $300 for its rechargeable uniqueness but other than that feature, I could get the same results with a much cheaper flat iron

I feel like the charge does last enough to straighten your hair I charged my Dyson and it took me about 45 minutes to straighten all of my hair which I have a lot of and I feel with the Dyson the hair time was way shorter compared to some of the other hair straighteners that I've used. I also love that the Dyson Corrale protects your hair from heat damage when you straighten it. You can keep it at a low temperature and it will straighten. You can also make curls with this hair straightener. Another thing that worked well is that you can get close to your scalp with this hair straightener and it doesn't burn you. I like the fact that you can take it with you anywhere and use it without a plug as long as it's charged. The charging cord is also cool it's magnetic and connects quickly. I also noticed that with the Dyson Corrale it didn't leave my hair frizzy like some other straighteners I have used. The Dyson Corrale also has flexing plates on it to shape and gather your hair and it adjusts to your hair type and in turn it needs less heat. So you can get your hair straight with less damage. I'm in love with this hair straightener and I definitely recommend trying it and you will fall in love. If you look at the photos you can notice no frizz no fly aways and you can see the difference from hair and then my hair meeting my Dyson Corrale.

The Dyson Corrale is known for its high heat capabilities, which can be a double-edged sword. On one hand, the high heat allows for quick and efficient styling, reducing the overall time spent on straightening. It's ideal for individuals with thick, coarse, or unruly hair that requires higher temperatures to achieve desired results with the three heat settings: 330°F (165°C), 365°F (185°C), and 410°F (210°C). While the higher temperatures can be effective for certain hair types, it could be damaging to others (like myself, I suspect), so some will need to exercise extra caution in avoiding prolonged passes or too many passes. Overall, the Dyson Corrale is an impressive hair straightener that offers excellent styling results. Its flexibility, cord-free design, and advanced heat control make it a versatile and convenient tool. However, it's important to be mindful of the high heat levels and use the appropriate settings for your hair type to prevent any potential damage. With proper usage and care, the Dyson Corrale can be a valuable addition to your hairstyling routine, providing you with sleek and beautiful results. I also hope future models will be a bit lighter. But thatās a low price to pay for the versatility of cordlessness!

You can use the charger and cord alone, or with the charging dock, handy if you want to store the straightener on your counter. Its design prevents you from burning your hands or face when using the straightener, plus a travel switch that prevents the appliance from heating when stored. Unlock the straightener, press the on button, and select one of the three heat settings. the unit heats in just a few secondsāno kidding! When done, press the on/off button and a light flashes until the unit is safely cooled. Set the travel switch if needed, lock it, and store it in its case or on he charging dock.I live in a humid climate that is not kind to my coarse, wavy hair. I typically let my hair dry naturally and apply a protective hair product before using an electric straightener. I tried the Dyson appliance on three different days and used each of the three heat settings. I need the medium and height heat settings to style my hair with a slight curl on the ends. This straightener seems to let me style my hair faster than my usual straightener, with less total heat, possibly preventing long-term damage.Pros: great design, precise temperature control, flexible straightening plates, safety features, heavy-duty charger and power cord, fast heating and faster than normal hair styling.Cons: much heavier than the typical hair straightener, bulky and heavy charger, dock and cord are not the best if you want to travel light. Quite costly. I would rate this straightener a 5 if not for these two issues.

I havenāt been flat ironing my hair for a while now because I have to have high heat to completely straighten my hair and it normally has a burnt smell the whole time I am wearing it straight and I really hate that. It normally takes me about one to two hours (that includes the drying time) to perfectly straighten my hair. Because my hair is so thick, I have to straighten thinner pieces and it have the run the flat iron through my hair ten times to get my hair smooth.I normally flat iron my hair at 450 degrees but the Dyson only goes to 410 degrees. I put heat protectant in my hair and blew it dry and then I straightened the first few pieces of sectioned hair and it straightened really good. Like better than the salon good. So I started to do larger pieces and figured out that if I go really slow, I only have to go through my hair with one swipe. The battery almost lasted the whole time but since I have really long hair, I figured I would probably have to charge. I ended up letting it charge for about 15 minutes and then I finished the rest of my hair.Once I finished, I was an awe. My hair hasnāt been this easy and as straight with little effort in a long time and now that I have all of the products, I can definitely see myself wearing my hair straight a little more often now. There was a slight freshly pressed smell but no where nearly as bad as it used to be.On day 3 with my straight hair, I did need to straighten some pieces on the back of my neck and around my hairline and I was able to straighten them with less heat.Overall, I LOVE this product and I would recommend it to friends and family! I can definitely see myself buying again!
I'm pretty familiar with the Corrale and how it works having already owned one for a little over 2 years so I was curious if a newer one offered any updated benefits. Out of the box, the only immediate differences I noticed was the change in the charging dock. Previously you received a full sized dock with a heavy base and a hard sturdy plastic attachment that the iron would lean on. With this one and I believe all of the newer ones you get the new travel dock which is more compact (it folds close) and not nearly as heavy and sturdy as the original. It appears to be made out of mostly plastic material but as the name suggests would be perfect for traveling. As far as actual performance...so far it performs pretty much like the original one I own. It continues to offer the same 3 heat temperatures of 330/365/410 degrees. It heats up quickly as expected and glides effortlessly through my hair straightening in a single pass (assuming I don't get too ambitious and try to work on a section that is too big/thick) without causing the dreaded burning hair smell that I can experience with other irons using the same amount of product and keeping the temperature at comparable levels. This has always been one of the reasons I enjoy using this iron over others to smooth my natural textured hair. Relying on my memory of battery life when I initially got the original iron I will say that it seems to be the same. I can comfortably complete my straightening process without the battery dying. It will take time for me to really say if battery life is more improved on this one over my original which after 2 years still works well but as expected the battery drains a bit quicker now and I may have to let it sit on the dock a bit longer to get a bit more charge near the end of my process. This is not a shock for a cordless device that is used fairly regularly over the 2+ years but would be nice if this one can do a little better over time. Every since Dyson first released the Corrale I have noticed a lot of unrealistic expectations about battery life where people are expecting the battery to last as if it were a traditional corded iron because of the price. This is asking for a lot and just doesn't make sense. To the best of my knowledge there isn't a comparable full sized cordless rechargeable straightener with a better battery life even today so you have to set your expectations for that in a more realistic manner. It would be great if the battery could last an hour but it might just be asking for too much without needing some major changes that may not be wanted. I personally opt to use it without the cord opting instead to place it on the dock to charge between passes. Because the cord continues to be the magnetic type it just ends up being too easy to accidentally knock the cord off while using so I just opt not to. But if you want to extend your battery time using it corded in hybrid mode may be your best option.Weight-wise, this one seems to be about the same in my hand (I don't see any info on the box or the pamphlet that states a difference so I can't really confirm or deny any changes). The Corrale is definitely a bit heavier than some may be used to with their irons but it is not a weight that will realistically cause the user to feel fatigue or anything during use. I don't experience any tugging or catching of any of my hair when using (although I am used to how to use this and am aware that the urge to clamp the plates down when gliding like we may do with some other irons isn't required at all. And I don't miss out on having a higher temp option like I would on other irons. This was a concern when I first got the original one but I quickly learned that hotter (even for my African American textured hair) doesn't mean better. Oh, and of course, the little tab you can use to make your iron flight compliant remains so for most places you may fly to you can take your iron along for the trip.Overall, I still feel that the Corrale is a great option as long as you have realistic expectations. It is definitely an investment so if the price tag makes you a little nervous I would suggest getting an extended warranty if you can just to give you a little peace of mind. The 2 year warranty is excellent. I would prefer that Dyson went back to providing a full sized dock with the travel dock as an additional accessory included or purchasable if needed as I do have some concerns that the travel dock is much easier to break thanks to it's cheaper materials and somewhat flimsy feel but at least you know you will have the warranty to cover if it does happen to break.
When I first started looking into purchasing a new straightener, I was still using an old one from college that sizzled my hair so badly, I had to vent the bathroom during every use. Now that I'm hitting late 20s, I was looking for a straightener that left my hair feeling silky and healthy, not frazzled and damaged. Upon learning about the Corrale, I had my doubts, as I had read reviews of snagging and was concerned that my wavy/curly mix would suffer. Personally, I have never experienced snagging on my hair from the Corrale, and my hair seems to hold the style much longer, and with a sleeker look than previous straighteners. Personally, I have never experienced snagging on my hair from the Corrale, and my hair seems to hold the style much longer, and with a sleeker look than previous straighteners. This might not be true for everyone, but I've personally never had that problem. As far as pros go, the straightener itself heats up quickly, and gets the job done in only a few simple passes. Also, the cordless design is honestly amazing -- I can walk around my apartment in the morning as I style my hair, which sounds crazy, but seriously, it's a perk. The only cons that I can give the product aren't even worthy of dropping a star rating. The Corrale is quite heavy, but after a while, I became used to it. The only real annoyance I've had is that my battery occasionally dies if I'm spending a long time styling, and plugging in whilst styling doesn't always work. However, my hair is long and a curly/wavy mix, so if you have short hair, I don't forsee this being a problem, but you might want to look into other reviews. Overall, those two cons definitely don't outweigh the pros of the product, and I've adapted to them. All in all, my hair feels healthier and looks great. I couldn't be happier with the purchase and can confidently tell the beach wave girlies that I found a straightener that works for us!
I found the Dyson Corrale straightener to be an excellent hair straightener but for the price I was expecting it to significantly outperform my existing GHD hair straightener. Frustratingly (given the price of the Dyson), I often find myself still reaching for my old straightener, for day to day use.Pros:- the cordless option makes styling easier (and also makes it feel less heavy and bulky than it appears);- the heat can be adjusted for your hair type;- it doesn't feel like it is damaging your hair and leaves hair silky;- It is easy to style my hair so it still has some volume and doesn't sit flat against my head. When I want more volume/movement in my hair, rather than a pin straight look, I prefer the Dyson straightener.Cons:- it's expensive - I waited for a sale to purchase it and it was still more expensive than my other hair straightener;- the battery only lasts around 30 minutes, however, this is long enough to style my medium length, frizzy hair. I return it to the charging cradle whilst sectioning my hair, so it continues to charge. I have not personally found the battery life an issue;- the charger cradle and plug are together quite bulky so they take up a bit of real estate on the counter top or in a drawer when storing - and I pull out the whole lot if I am using it. I often end up just reaching for my other hair straightener, particularly if I am in a hurry;- my hair doesn't feel like it 'glides' as smoothly through the Dyson as my other straightener. Whilst this is really a very, very minor thing, it is, oddly, one of the reasons I still sometimes prefer to use my other straightener;- the end result between the Dyson and my other (less expensive) hair straightener seem very similar to me.Overall, this is a great hair straightener. If price is not an issue and if you don't already own a good quality hair straightener, this one is worth considering....especially if you can pick it up on sale. I personally did not find it enough of a 'game changer' that I would purchase it again if it breaks as there are other high quality, less expensive options that meet my limited needs and appear to achieve a similar result for my hair.[For reference, I have course, medium, naturally wavy hair that I always straighten as it is a frizzy mess if left to its own devices. I prefer to wear my hair straight but with some volume (ie. not flat against my head) and I don't curl my hair].
This is a tough product to rate - on the one hand there are several features that I really like and that I have not seen on many or even any other straighteners. I love the cordless functionality and how quickly the tool heats up. This combined with being able to plug the charging cord into the stand means that instead of putting everything away after each use, I now just leave the Corrale sitting in its dock most of the time, ready to use for quick touch ups. I love the cordless functionality and how quickly the tool heats up. The convenience is superb, and even better because the dual voltage and airplane mode features mean I can literally take this anywhere, even overseas where the Dyson Supersonic and Airwrap canāt goā¦. This is one of the primary reasons I chose the Corrale - I wanted a convenient tool that could come with me when I travel overseas and generally donāt have a ton of hair care or styling products with me. Another big positive is that there is no singed smell when using the Corrale, which I have to believe is due to the technology. It also works, for me anyway, on even the lowest heat setting. The Corrale leaves my hair frizz free with a nice shine, and it usually takes minimal passes. I find the battery lasts plenty for me and that the cordless feature is well worth it. In all, the Corrale does a good job of straightening and curling, at least the loser types of waves I like to give my hair some body and bounce. But thatās where I run into trouble with the rating - the Corrale does a āgoodā job - the results donāt blow me away, they are just āgoodā. In fairness, they are achieved with all the convenience I just described, and with less heat and presumably less damage, but I donāt know that all justifies the incredibly high price. Ironically, part of my less than 100% satisfaction is influenced by my overwhelmingly positive experience with the Dyson Supersonic, which I consider a true game changer and worth every penny with respect to the results and the speed with which they can be achieved. Maybe the true advantages of the Corrale over other straighteners are the speed, convenience and lower heat with which good results can be achieved rather than the more obvious superior results you can get with the Dyson Supersonic over any other hair dryer I have tired. I donāt regret buying the Corrale but it is not a game changer for me the way the Supersonic is. I do like the Corrale, but If it broke tomorrow I would not necessarily miss the product, I would mostly be mad about the money I spent. If I broke the Supersonic, however, I would have to find a way to replace it right away - thatās just how much difference it has made to how I am able to dry and style my hair.
I have waited 4 months to review so can thoroughly test and be balanced.Initially I thought gosh they are heavier than my other well known brand but at least I had the 60 day money back guarantee. My other straighteners straighten my hair very well.I have thick, coarse, medium frizzy hair. When I first started using the corrale it took a while to get used to their weight plus the feeling of them in your hair, finding the right balance in how much hair to use at a time and also heat setting. They heat up quickly which is great as a busy mum. After using them for about 3 weeks I then used my other straighteners and put the corrale away, I first noticed the difference in heat (which I hadnāt before) my other ones were leaving me hot and sweaty after ...Ā MoreI have waited 4 months to review so can thoroughly test and be balanced.Initially I thought gosh they are heavier than my other well known brand but at least I had the 60 day money back guarantee. I also missed the feeling of the corrale and the combing feeling you get with them. I also noticed I had to do more passes.I then did half of my head with each straightener and asked my husband to tell me which side looked better and was softer (he didnāt know which was which) and he chose the corrale. The major plus for me and for my lifestyle is the cordless, it means I can move around whilst straightening and can move from room to room whilst still straightening. Also it means there is no cord for my children to trip on or grab whilst I straighten my hair.I would buy these again actually, but hoping if I need to in the future the weight may have lightened slightly. However I have gotten used to that negative now.To be honest, whether these are right for you depends on what you are looking for from a straightener and also you have to be willing to give a full try and not just one or two goes.
