Frequently I use the soft/flex brush attachment and simply run it through my dry hair right before I leave the house or minutes before I have to be on video conference for work. And when I'm being especially fancy (like for my brother's wedding), I use the other attachments to build some body and/or waves (I have some volumizing foam for those special occasions). For reference, I've been maintaining variations of a bob all year, with the longest section being the front sides just barely grazing my shoulders. My hair is fine, but I have a lot of it, and that "effortless" look was never easy for me to achieve until now. I don't use the bigger barrel because the smaller one works best with my length and the styles I'm going for. The rounded volumizing brush wasn't my favorite attachment, but I've barely given it a chance because I'm thrilled with the results I'm already getting with the others. So if that scary day had never happened, I would've continued making eyerolls over anyone telling me this thing is worth the price tag. I still think it's too expensive, yet I can't help but love it and all the compliments I get about my hair now.

I really like the dryer part, it works fast, and I love making a voluminous blowout with the round brush attachment and one of the other brush attachments ( I can't remember what the name.or type of brushes tney are, I need to spend more time looking at manual, because the 2 plastic brush heads look the same to me, besides one having copper brush tips, and I think one of those is for smoothing/ straightening, and one is for more of a lift/ volume). I also really like the curling barrels! I have NEVER been good at curling my hair myself for some reason and this thing just makes it sooo easy! Just pick up a section of hair with one hand and hold the barrel with the machine turned off in the other hand , placing barrel next to the hair. When you then turn the machine on the air suction just pulls your hair and gently wraps it around the barrel in a perfect curl with no effort from you other than just holding the Dyson. Or I've also liked results with wrapping strands around to make an S curl or waves.. I really like the results. I'm just not completely happy with this yet because so far I haven't figured out how to make my curls last for a long time! I need to watch YouTube or something and see if there's a trick to it I'm missing. Hopefully I can update this review to a 5 star soon, especially with the chunk of money it cost. Other than the curls not holding well,. I'm loving this, my hair dries quickly, it's feels like I'M getting less heat in general, which is always a good thing when you're trying to avoid sweating while you' get ready during a hot Texas summer , and my hair is feeling and looking better, definitely much better than the Revelon brush ( but at 10 times the price)

More disappointment

To update on my earlier review. Dyson were quick to get me through to an engineer who without issue sanctioned a replacement (new). Within a couple of days I was able to exchange the faulty one (box and attachments) for a brand new boxed one, on my doorstep. Sorted…or so I thought. The new one has a faulty release button - and it is very difficult to get the heads to click in and out. The last two stylers I have had, the mechanisms just clicked in and out so easily and my mum’s is also a dream to operate. This one you have to wrangle them in and out and because of the sticky release button it’s hard be sure they’re in properly. What’s even more worrying though is the new replacement has a latent vibration/ rattle after it is turned off. It occurred from the first ... MoreTo update on my earlier review. Also I noticed the the case that came with the new one wasn’t as good quality as the one I returned. The new ones no longer have felt inserts to match the rest of the felt on the inside of the case. They have been replaced with cardboard- maybe this is to be more sustainable- but it has the effect of making the case feel cheaper. I wish I had been allowed to keep my old box :(. Incidentally with the first dyson airwrap the cases were faux leather (and also full felt inside) and had a more luxurious look and feel.

I was really really excited to use that so when I had back my home I had taken shower and I had tried this product I can't explain what I had my feel when the brush attachment for thick hair came off from the main body of the device. I search Google for that alarm, and I read about that happening when the filter of the device is not clean or there are problems with the fuse. So I returned that, My shock came to a head when the sales staff at Dyson Trafford Center were very disappointed in returning the device. I never hear something like sorry. Of course, I really can't put into words how I feel. If I were to find out about the failure of the device exactly a few weeks later, that is, after 35 days, would you still take it back from me??? Not. You probably just wanted to fix this expensive device for me. I strongly advise all women with medium to long hair who have thick hair not to buy this device. I used to be a Dyson customer but with this experience and customer service behavior I will never go back to Dyson
