When my guitar teacher recommended these picks, I was pleased to find them on my deal, a site I had purchased items from before, and always happy with the result. These picks are great quality, reasonably priced, and have really helped me with my lessons. Great product, great trader and as always, my deal are easy to deal with. The free postage is a bonus.

These picks are the best in every way. The tone is so good you won't believe that a pick can actually affect your sound this much. It takes a little getting used to the size at first but then they become like part of your hand - seamless, effortless picking. It's hard to describe what they do for your tone besides making it fuller, warmer and more articulate. There's a reason Eric Johnson uses these things. They're simply the best I've ever found in 30+ years of playing. I used to use Tortex or derlin .88mm or 1mm picks and score them with a razor blade for grip then file them to a point to give me beter articulation and sharper attack, but these lil buggers really upped the game. They stay in your grip easily and don't move even if you sweat a lot. The tip slips ... MoreThese picks are the best in every way. Got that.

This pick has become my one and only. It turns out to be the precise tool for my playing style weather I am doing Pure Prairie League, Metallica, Beatles, or Joe Satriani. Great grip, perfect stiffness, and clean sounding. Most surgeons wouldnt use a machete to do Brain Surgery. I wouldnt use any other pick.

Dunlop Jazz III pick shootout

I've been playing with knock off Fender heavy (standard shape) for about 10 years of my 20 plus years of playing and decided to try something new because I am running out of my go to picks and I wear a celluloid pick out in no time. While researching I read a lot of good things about the Jazz III picks and decided to try them. I have bought just about every model of Jazz III to test except for a couple. Of all the Jazz picks I like the Max Grip line the least. The Max Grip picks are still great picks and sound great, they just aren't for me. The grip portion of the Max Grip Jazz picks is slightly thicker than the tip. To me it feels like the tip of the pick is disconnected and numb. The grip portion of the Max Grip Jazz picks is slightly thicker than the tip. To me it feels like the tip of the pick is disconnected and numb. I am a dynamic player and cannot deal with a numb feeling pick. The Max Grip part is ok but honestly I don't think it makes that much of a difference to me. I find the Standard red Jazz III picks have plenty of grip. The Max Grip standard red sounds the same as the standard red Jazz III but feels different. Of all the Max Grip Jazz III picks I like the carbon fiber one the most but it still has that numb disconnected feel to me. My favorite Jazz III picks in this order... Standard red Jazz III, Jazz III Primetone 1.4, Ultex Jazz III, Max Grip carbon fiber, Tortex Pitch Black 1.35, Max Gripstandard red Jazz III, Max Grip Stiffo Jazz III. Jazz III picks are fast, accurate, have great attack because of the materials and pointed tip. If I was only going to play lead electric guitar they would be great. They are a lot smaller than a traditional wedge type pick. I personally don't think they are the best for an acoustic but hey to each their own. I want one versatile pick to play electric and acoustic so I won't have to constantly swap picks between guitars. The Primetone picks are phenomenal but pricey. They have a sand paper type grip surface that is the same thickness as the rest of the pick so it does not have that disconnected feel to me. The Primetones glide off the strings effortlessly and are the most dynamic and bright of the picks. I don't think the Primetones are worth the premium because the don't sound that much different than the Ultex (both made from Ultex). The Tortex Pitch Black picks are interesting and have a great feel but are slow release because the edge is not contoured. Pitch Black picks are significantly slower due to the slow string release. I personally think the standard red Jazz III is the best all around Jazz III as far as feel, attack, grip and dynamics. Overall the Jazz III pick line are great picks and I haven't written them off for good.

I use these almost exclusively for my electric playing. On this occasion I couldn’t get these specific ones but PMT organised an agreed substitution of the slightly bigger black ones.If anything I liked them even more for grippiness.Perfect for my electric playing… a little stiff and loud for acoustic.

I bought a 6-pack of the carbon Max Grip Jazz III's about 10 months ago and haven't remembered to get more... AND THEY'RE EXACTLY THE SAME AS THE DAY I GOT THEM! Then I went to a Children Of Bodom concert back in March and caught one of Alexi Laiho's picks, which was a regular black nylon Jazz III. And IT TOO is still the same. This is a testament to the durability of the Jazz III line. The grip helps a lot, but in truth there is no way to "lock it in place" without glue. However, it still works great. The bevel is a good feature, and it seems to increase speed a little, or at least makes it easier. In terms of sound, the nylon is a "warmer" sound. This does not mean muddy. And call me crazy, but it even seems to add a smidge of gain! The carbon picks are... Now I know no one cares about my own opinions, but I personally like the sound of the nylon better. And that is why I'm buying these! Minus the red colour (I prefer black; doesn't appear in the pickup covers in photos), it combines the Jazz III's size, the Max Grip, the nylon material, AND the bevel. PER- wait for it... FECTION!

The Classic with a New Feel

I have been using Jazz III's since I started playing guitar. My first (and only) guitar teacher told me that having smaller picks gives you more control over articulation and dynamics, and gave me a pack of Eric Johnson Jazz III's. I learned on them and all of the new versions sound and feel just as good as they did when I started. The nylon of these picks gives a much less aggressive attack and feel very smooth when they are gliding across the string. The Max-Grip gives you even more control over your dynamics and, for heavy-handed people like me, a much better

Perfect picks which I use for everything now, strumming acoustic to fast electric leads.1. Colour = RED - you can see where they fell or where they are on your stand or on your amp in a dark venue2. MAX GRIP = the pick doesn't slip position from sweat when you're in the middle of a lead. I used to use the tortexes and the sharp tortex too at 1.15mm and they used to always slip out. These are hands down the best ones. Even the petrucci ones slip out3. Size. Not too big and not too small.4. Material: Doesn't dull as quickly as the tortexes.

WAY. TOO. SMALL.
15 January 2021

I hate these pics. Based on the picture I expected them to be similar in size to a Fender 351 teardrop. Not even close. these things are smaller than 3/4 size. Yes, they have a grippy surface, but they're so small that there's no tip that sticks out beyond your finger pads. Totally worthless. Avoid.
