Many friends told me that these shoes would hurt for months until they became comfortable, but that didn't happen to me. I didn't get any blisters or pain, not even on the first day of use! They are super easy to clean, and the quality of the finish is unquestionable. I chose this model because I use it for work and preferred to invest a little more to ensure greater comfort.

Bought Crazy Horse shoes (my 4th pair), wore them less than ten times. The front of the rubber sole split from the shoe -- just broke -- so it 'flapped' as I walked. Clearly defective. And when I contacted Dr Martens for a warranty claim, they gave me the runaround for a month and ultimately disappeared.Beautiful shoes. But something's wrong with the manufacturing, and everything's wrong with the supposed warranty.

I bought these shoes for work. I have worn both boots and shoes before and lasted a long time. They look fantastic and are well made. They were well packaged and arrived quickly. They fit my feet, width and length ways. But sadly the right shoe is giving me great discomfort. It is destroying my heel. It rubs me raw, giving me huge blisters. I have tried different thickness socks, and putting plasters on to protect my heel, but to no avail. So at the moment, I can only manage to wear them for around 20 minutes before they cause me great discomfort. I am glad I bought them in the sale because I can not wear them properly. I will persevere but disappointed as they otherwise fit perfectly .

I can’t tell you about the 8053 shoes I ordered in size 11…because I received a size 8 of what looks like a woman’s shoe. I followed your instructions for handling mistaken items and submitted a report to you. That was eleven days ago. Nothing from you. And you offer no phone number anywhere so I can quickly call and clear things up. So finally I returned the shoes you sent today. Maybe you’ll charge me $7, but I’m tired of the aggravation, time, and money this cost me.
I ordered these online for work and the look of them is great. They arrived quickly and there were no issues. However, I have worn them a couple of times so can’t return them, and it took me those wears to realise that unlike my other docs (3 pairs), the toe area is way too tight. Unfortunately I think I will have to try to resell them and buy a different pair because I’m too nervous about wearing them for hours and developing issues. Again, a great customer experience and fab look but they may not be your usual doc size.
I just bought my FIRST pair of Dr Martens at an age later than one normally does, but I am so excited. I am a very practical person who chooses quality over quantity and trendy/fashion. I tried a few different Dr. Martens oxfords before selecting these (over the 1461s) as they fit better, and I preferred the 5 rows vs 3 for laces. I haven't worn them yet which is why I can't give them a 5 (hopefully totally comfy immediately although I have read these may take a little breaking in), and I will update my review at that time. Thanks to DSW for carrying these fun shoes that are the perfect addition to my wardrobe.
These Docs are THE BEST shoes ever. This is my fourth pair over the past 20 years!! The styling is awesome! They last a looooong time with little wear. The size is perfect for my wide feet! And the price is still good! These are my goto everyday shoes. Overall these shoes are perfection in style, wear, size, and cost. I'm a happy customer and will buy them again in a few more years!!

There's no way they're still popular after all this time if they're as uncomfortable as it seems. Touche' Doc, Touche'. I am here to say, don't judge the shoe by what it seems, lol. When you actually walk in it, it holds up to all that it claims... the "bouncing sole" and the "air insert"... yeah, uts true. They're comfortable. They're unisex but they are definitely wider and on the bigger side. I am normally an 8.5, sized down to an 8, and I could probably go with a 7.5 if they did half sizes, lol. PS. Solid shoe! Make sure you have the Doc Martin wonder balm because this leather is thirsty. I'm appling a fine coat of wonderbalm ever other day(take the laces off to access all nooks). Also a horse hair brush is recommended before applying wonderbalm. The leather guys on YouTube claim you should apply these balms quite often in the first year of breaking in the leather. Doc martens soles do not last in any tough work environment but for office work they'll last. I use the loop back style of lacing with the final lace inverting to come outright. This way substantially increases foot real estate.
Our son is now in his senior years of school, but this design in the Dr Marten's range has been the best for his growing feet with orthotics. The last two pairs have been the same size, we get about 18 months out of a pair Not the cheapest option but this style has a deeper heel cup and is very comfortable for lots of walking. Our son even likes wearing these on the weekend if he has a formal event to attend. We probably polished the last pair a bit too much, they are low maintenance and long wearing. Will buy again now that he is entering uni, maybe a high boot next time. Can highly recommend this style for school shoes for High School.
