The Made in England Vintage collection is handcrafted by our Northamptonshire factory cobblers using original construction techniques — plus Quilon, our rare, original specification Dr. Martens leather. Thick and full-grain with a matte finish, this leather only gets better with age. 12308001This unisex 1460 boot is made with all the classic Doc's DNA, including grooved sides, heel-loop and yellow stitching. Built to last, it's made using one of the finest methods of construction: the Goodyear Welt — which means the upper and sole are sewn together in our heat-sealed z-welt stitch. The boot sits on our iconic AirWair sole, which is oil and fat resistant, with good abrasion and slip resistance. Material Quilon Leather is crafted using traditional processes and features a contrast base colour for a two-tone finish. Care Instructions [Quilon] = Clean Away dirt using a damp cloth, allow to dry apply correct coloured wax based shoe polish to restore colour and shine level as desired. Construction This is a Goodyear-welted product. The upper and sole are heat-sealed and sewn together, not merely glued like many footwear constructions.
