I can best compare it to an old best friend that you haven't seen in years. After conversing for a while, and talking about the good times you used to have together you realize that they've changed, the spark of companionship the two of you used to share is no longer there. It comes on with strong juicy sweet and fruity/citrus brightness. Mid notes are mostly lavender, which lends a softness and touch of sophistication with some herbal spiciness from the sage and pepper before the lavender mingles well with tobacco for the basenotes with some woodiness as well. Some people like sillage bombs and in comparison to the original, this UK version is noticeably subdued. But don't mistake that for meaning poor longevit, still has good lasting power 6-7h and still projects for the first 2 hours at an arm length ... just not “as”strongly like the OG.

I love DG light blue, such a fresh, youthful fragrance. Opens up with grapefruit and bergamot right out of the bottle. The middle notes are pepper and rosemary, more on the peppery side between the two. Base notes are musk and oakmoss. This combo plays well together giving this fragrance a lot of vibrance, it’s tons of fun to wear and it’s affordable. I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a new summer fragrance!

This is ANY true cologne collectors prize scent! I wore this for YEARSSSSSS in high school and thereafter. It has a soft spicy punch that screams "professional sex symbol". Its not a scent you smell often so you will stand out in a crowd; you should rock this at work or business meetings to really WOW people. Its one of few colognes that can be worn in the day time but also at night; my rule of thumb is to the darker the cologne color the later at night I wear it. All your lighter green/blue/light yellow colors are work, early afternoon type. That is just MY rule of thumb so don't try to fact check me (:

I am not a cologne expert but I do collect various scents. This one reminds me of a refined mid 30s and older cologne to use at formal dinner parties. It seems to be timeless. It would be a cologne that you could smell on a stylish man of the 1950s but somehow it works on the right man of today. It’s a spicy citrus scented cologne that doesn’t overpower you, but it does grab your attention.

The neroli sticks around for most of the life of the fragrance but it takes a back seat to Lavender, sage and a nice tobacco note. The bottle is the same shape and size of the mens light blue line. The cap fits snug. The atomizer is OK. This is a great everyday wear. Dress it up or go casual. The longevity is good for a fresh EDT. I get around 6 hours on skin with arms length projection for a couple of hours before it sits close. I find it works best in spring and summer. This can be had at discounters for around $30-$40 and is a steal at that price. Dolce Gabbana pour homme is a mature Woody scent that I would recommend for people middle-aged and older. It's been reformulated and smells a little worse than what it used to but it's not a big enough difference to justify going for an older bottle style. Anybody looking for a mature classy scent would be doing just fine with this cologne. I feel like I'm a little too young to wear it but it is the first bottle of cologne I've ever bought so it holds a special place to my heart and I still wear it from time to time LOL I wish I would have done a bit more research before I bought it because I probably would have gotten something a bit more youthful

Timeless summer scent, easy to wear and inoffensive. DG light blue opens with a nice citrusy and fresh spicy opening. As it enters the mid, it becomes more peppery and woody, more aromaticy. The dry down is musky and Smokey, very pleasant. Performance on the fragrance is okay at best, depends on what season you wear it in. Best suited for spring and summer time days or warm nights. Performance 3-4 hours. Top notes: Grapefruit, Bergamot, Sicilian mandarin, and Juniper. Mid Notes: Pepper, Rosemary, and Brazilian rosewood. Base notes: Musk, Incense, and Oakmoss. Not sure who perfumed this fragrance but I think it might be Alberto Morillas.

A little disappointed

I don't think it's the seller's fault. But this is probably the third time between eBay and Amazon that I've gotten dolce and Gabbana the original and it's just not quite up to par. I think it's probably the best smelling cologne I've ever smelled and I get so many compliments of it and I still do unfortunately it doesn't last long enough to get the afternoon compliments I only get the early morning compliments. It's still the smell no doubt although it does seem a little less strong but it is a smell it's just not quite the same intensity.

Lovely

I am someone who gets migraines from overly sweet/cloying or strong fragrances. This is perfect for me. The tartness of the neroli really adds an edge to the powdery marshmallow note. It’s not a skin scent but it doesn’t project too far so I smell it sometimes randomly but I don’t feel like I can’t escape it. This lasted 4-6 hours on my skin. I really tried to smell the baby wipes smell that another reviewer mentioned because I wanted to know right off the bat if it was going to bother me or I should return but I couldn’t smell that at all on my skin. I will also say that the opening isn’t nearly as delightful as the dry down so make sure to let it sit for a good 20ish mins before you decide.

Pleasant not WOW

This review is on the latest version, not the vintage. On my skin this scent is fleeting. It does smell good, but not great in my opinion. There are other or better fragrances out there that are similar but better. I would classify this as a 'SAFE' scent not daring or unusual. Can be worn casually and for the office. Also, I would recommend it for the spring and summer period. Again, this is safe and pleasant and should be unoffensive to those around you.
