Couldn't believe it when I found Variations by DMC available in the store along with Coloris colors. It's beautiful to work with, amazing bright colors and smooth transitions. So much nicer to see them in person than try to buy them from the website. Nothing quite compares to seeing them in hand with your other colors. For several lovers of DMC floss, you must try Variations too!
I have gone in 3 times in the last month and the selection was very poor. The colors i have needed have not been there each time. The racks were bent andvhanging..Looked like someones kid had tried climbing. I drive quite a distance and have gone away disappointed.
As with any DMC floss, this us silky and smooth. The only think difference the verigateds have is that they are a tad trickier to spool on a bobbin. The ends on the variegated thread catch other parts of itself. So you need to move a tad slower to avoid tangles.That said I adore the new colors! The slide from one color to the next is amazing, much smaller and more subtle.
Nice bold colors. Easy to work with. Michael’s does need to restock all colors. They were out of almost all stock.
I needed a navy thread for a project involving navy crushed velvet fabric and when I spotted this in store I knew it would be perfect. The "variegation" is quite subtle so picks up on the colours in the fabric perfectly. And of course being DMC you know the quality is good.
I love vibes&scribes. They have a great selection of all arts and crafts especiallyDMC. The colour I chose Mouline colour variation is a beautiful thread.Ideal for my project. I will be back to vibes&scribes in the near future.
