I’ve owned and used a few other wireless earbuds from Samsung and Sony, some higher-end than others. I got an opportunity to test these Devialet - Gemini Noise Cancelling True Wireless Earbuds and they are a contender for the fullest sound reproduction. I prefer some good base with my music and these Geminis don’t disappoint in the low frequency department. The mid frequencies are pretty clear as well, offering good sounding vocals. The highs seem to be a bit exaggerated and overpowering at higher volumes, though you can pick a flatter EQ curve through the Devialet smart phone app. All of the above sound quality is obtainable best when Active Noise Cancelling is enabled and when you have the earbuds perfectly fitted inside your ears. Speaking of the fit, they included 4 different size silicone ear tips to accommodate most people. Unlike my Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro, the Devialet Geminis rely very much on the ear tips to hold it in your ear, there is no “fin” or hook you can twist inside the cartilage part of your earlobe to further secure them in. So for me, these will be best used in the office or while relaxing on the couch, not when walking or working out or mowing the lawn. They are too precious to be dropped or lost while in motion, and they will fall out of most people’s ears because they are fairly large and heavier than other buds - all that patented ANC technology with multiple mics and that deep, loud bass needs a bigger enclosure.Other physical aspects that differentiate the Geminis from the competition are:* The charging case is also much larger than my Samsung or Sony buds but it nicely slides open instead of flipping a lid.* It also supports wireless charging and has a USB-C plug, thank you! With battery charging from the case will offer a total of 24-hours of playback since you can recharge the buds about 3 times on top of the 6-hours the buds themselves will last* There is also an LED charging indicator on the case that’s green when more than 50% charged, orange under 50% charge and red when really low charge. You must use the App for full sound and active noise cancelling customizations:* You can pick from 5 EQ presets or create your own custom EQ* You can toggle through 3 ANC modes - low, high and plane and 2 transparency modes to let ambient sound in when you’re trying to listen to a conversation, etc* There are a few patented technologies unique to Devialet that make them even more special, one that especially caught my attention is the “Ear Active Matching” that’s supposed to tune the sound based on the shape of your inner ear.All in all if you can afford these and are not planning to use them while working out or jogging, the Devialet Gemini Noise Cancelling True Wireless Earbuds offer superb sound and great active noise cancelling with the latest advancements in technology.

I've been in the market for a set of earbuds for a while that I just want to love. Ever since my last set of earbuds went through the washing machine and they were destroyed (note: dont forget you have them in your pocket when you do your laundry) I have tried a number of different sets. This is definitely on the more expensive end of the spectrum that I've tried. So lets get into it.To start, the packaging definitely has a premium look and feel, the box is double-walled, has a nice finish and fits well together. There's no excessive security features to the box or strange gyrations you have to go through to get to the product once you've removed the cellophane which is appreciated. Box slides open in a smooth motion and the documentation, then earbuds are presented to you somewhat like a gift. The one downside to the packaging is that the ear gels are in a non-reusable oblong cardboard case to the side with a stuck on cover. Once you've removed that cover it no longer stays closed and there's no additional place to store the ear gels. So you'd better hope you don't lose them and that you are sure on your size, otherwise they will just rattle around inside the empty box or a drawer once you've found your fit. The set does ship with a USB-A to USB-C cable which is a pleasant addition as so many things are forgoing the addition of any sort of charging accessories these days. I also appreciate that the case IS USB-C since for some reason even in the premium brands, you still find micro-USB these days which should just not be a thing anymore. Now to usage. Pairing is simple, slide the case open, hold down the button on the front of the case and let your device discover them. Quick note on charging. While it does come with the aformentioned USB-C cable, the case is actually Qi charging capable which I discovered quite by accident as neither the documentation nor the box even mention wireless charging. I suppose this capability goes hand-in-hand with them being 'true wireless' but I've had enough headsets that are 'true wireless' that do not have Qi charging capability, so again, it was a pleasant thing to discover. In terms of charging and battery life, it is quite pleasant to see the battery indicator for the case itself in the app, I've never had a headset that shows that. I also very much like the slide lid for the box as opposed to a flip lid like most other headsets I've used. In the past if I drop the case of one of my headsets with a flip lid, inevitably it will come open and my earbuds will scatter across the floor. This lid definitely seems more secure, though I haven't dropped it yet.Fit is a little bit of an issue with these. Once I paired them to my phone I received a phone call immediately and was chatting. I noticed when I put them in my ear that there was no great 'hook' to go behind the cartilage in my ear to help keep it in as so many other headsets have, relying almost primarily on the friction supplied by the ear gel, so partway through my conversation, the headset fell out. I've tried the other included ear gels, but the mediums that come pre-installed are closest to a perfect fit for me. The Larges are much too large and the smalls are too loose. I found by rotating the headset in my ear I can 'sort of' achieve that 'hook' behind the ear cartilage that I was looking for, but it's less than idea, and someone with smaller ears than myself I think would have even more difficulty. Even the images of wearing this headset does not show the orientation that provides the best security in my ear for these. So this really is a disappointment.Sound quality leaves a little bit to be desired. I compared these directly to two other sets of 'true wireless' earbuds that I own, and while the initial experience is quite good, when comparing directly to other headsets that have a more mid-range price, I was left wanting a little bit more from these. It's not to say they are bad, but the treble is a little overpowering, which can be adjusted to an extent from within the app, but even fully adjusted, they could not realize the level of bass that some of my other headsets were capable of.On the App... I'm one that kind of hates that basically every single piece of consumer equipment these days requires an app for it to be useful, and this is yet another. The app touts customization of commands for the touch controls on the side, however the extent of that customization is whether or not you want push to talk or next/previous for tracks... Why this needs to be a customized option is strange to me as the headset should know when it's being used for calls as opposed to music and adjust accordingly. I previously mentioned the equalizer and it is found here, as I've experienced with other brands of headsets. It works, it helps, but it's not wonderful. You can also manage the noise canceling here.As for the noise canceling, it is really quite good, and I think could be better if the fit issues were addressed. There are many options for the noise canceling from none at all to varying levels of cancelation and also hear-through type features. They all work well.Overall, I think this is a good headset, but for the price really could be better. The fit and even the minor audio quality issues prevents it from really standing out above the rest, especially at this price point.

I am concerned however at not being able to modify the privacy settings because it wants to use Geolocation which not sure why it needs that data.Calls - Amazing on calls, crystal clear and the noise cancellation works perfectly. I was able to handle full conversations with the windows down in my car or with the AC at full blast. I am really impressed at how well it handles calls.Music- The sounds are extremely clear and has a high range. Unfortunately the low range/bass is not that great but for ear buds especially when it comes to calls its crystal clear. Music is a joy to play on this because able to clearly hear the voice and mid - high range sounds. Don't expect lofi or deep bass music to sound good on here thoughRange/Distance - The range of these are very impressive, I was able to walk to another area of the room / house and still had great connection.Overall I really loved these and recommend this product for anyone looking for good earbuds.

You get about 6 hours use from the Geminis depending upon your use of noise cancellation which will reduce your usage time. When the ear buds are placed back in the case to charge you get about 3x charging for a total of up to 24 Hrs possible usage.Once the case and buds are fully charged, the pairing process as described in the sparse manual should be easy, it took me a couple of try’s but I finally got them to pair with my iPhone and then I paired with my iPad as well with no issues, they are not multipoint however and can only be connected to one source at a time. There is a companion app available from both app stores and once connected to the app there is the ability to customize your EQ as well as strength of noise canceling and the ability to put into transparency mode to hear a conversation or sounds around you. Once in the app you can check the battery level of the charging case itself or each earbud. One of the most interesting features is Ear Active Matching (EAM) which reads your inner ear canal and tailors the sound to your individual ears. All of this doesn’t matter if they don’t sound good. I’m here to tell you the Devialet Geminis sound GREAT. Highs, mids and bass are all crystal clear and they have a good sound stage. Active Noise Cancellation is some of the best I’ve encountered, pretty much tied in my mind with the pinnacle at this time with the Sony XM4’s. When watching YouTube and other videos there is no sound lag whatsoever which can be annoying if present.Overall I’d say these are a definite keeper and will be a much used part of my ever growing collection and pretty much my go to pair for a while.
When I first set up the Devialet Gemini I was expecting some small issues with the app because of other reviews I've read not only on Best Buy, Amazon as well as YouTube. I was right, the Gemini do not connect seamlessly. I had to reset the earbuds, they still take a moment. My phone is the Galaxy S21 Ultra and this is the first time I've had trouble connecting earbuds... The sound and ANC is great even the transparent mode is good.. but another one of my gripes is you have to turn on location for the Gemini to connect to the app, it seems like such an unnecessary step. Anyway volume is great, the clarity is very good the Gemini are an excellent choice for sound. Listening to one of my favorite earbud testing songs Simon and Garfunkels The Boxer did not disappoint . ... MoreWhen I first set up the Devialet Gemini I was expecting some small issues with the app because of other reviews I've read not only on Best Buy, Amazon as well as YouTube. Anyway volume is great, the clarity is very good the Gemini are an excellent choice for sound. Listening to one of my favorite earbud testing songs Simon and Garfunkels The Boxer did not disappoint . Call quality is good, basic, nothing to rave about. For the price there needs a better app experience. I'm aware they canceled the first lauch due to issues with the app and relaunched after fixing major issues but there are updates that need to be made before they are a 5 star earbud.
I really wanted to love these but ultimately ended up returning them. I purchased these after hearing rave reviews about the audio quality. I currently have AirPod Pros, but I struggle with them constantly falling out of my ears. After digging around the Internet - there aren't a ton of reviews for these, but I'm familiar with their Phantom line of speakers and figured if they can produce speakers with that kind of audio quality, then the headphones should sound amazing. What's making me want to return these is the volume. At full volume, they are significantly softer-sounding than my AirPods. This is after testing them both - AirPod in one ear and Gemini and the other and toggling different songs thru each. This is after testing them both - AirPod in one ear and Gemini and the other and toggling different songs thru each. The headphones show they are on the latest firmware and there is a mention of this on the Devialet site which the solution from the support article is to send your device (that the headphones are connected to) in for repair? No other headphones I have (and I have two other pairs) experience this issue. The initial pairing was also very rough around the edges, coming from AirPods where you just lift the case and tap Connect. I went thru the full setup using the app and even though the app showed these were connected (the phone as well under Bluetooth), the audio kept coming out of my iPhone instead of the headphones. It wasn't until I pressed and held the button on the front of the case and it started flashing (from AirPods, I figured this meant they were in bluetooth discovery mode) - that I was able to see them under discoverable devices and pair them (yet the other instance showed connected the whole time which was really weird) and get audio thru the Geminis. Charging them was wonky as well. When I took them out of the box, I removed all the slips that cover the case and headphones to preserve the battery and left them charging over night and well into the next day. Went to use them and everything was dead. To be fair and honest, I had not downloaded the Gemini app yet but I figured they likely didn't ship fully charged so I'd charge them up first. It wasn't until I downloaded the Gemini app and pushed the case open that everything started charging. I will say the headphones charge amazingly fast! All-in-all I had a lot of hopes and expectations for these, but ultimately it's looking like the quality control just wasn't there and for the price, they need to be ready for prime time and no still in beta. I still think they make excellent speakers, but maybe this product was rushed to jump into an exploding product category.
There are at least a few things the Devialet Gemini does very well in my opinion. For me, these are the things that are on the top of my list for what I’m looking for in a pair of wireless earbuds. Of note is the respectable sound quality these produce. Utilize the app and fine tune the sound to personal preferences such as Bass, Dynamic, Treble, Low-mid….. The app also allows Equalizer customization and adjustment of L/R Balance. Additional app settings allow one to turn off the Automatic Pause feature if an earbud is removed from one’s ear and select Double Press options of push-to-talk or next/previous.The Gemini earbuds are the best I’ve ever used when it comes to noise cancellation and I really like the ability to utilize the app to select noise cancellation ... MoreThere are at least a few things the Devialet Gemini does very well in my opinion. Additional app settings allow one to turn off the Automatic Pause feature if an earbud is removed from one’s ear and select Double Press options of push-to-talk or next/previous.The Gemini earbuds are the best I’ve ever used when it comes to noise cancellation and I really like the ability to utilize the app to select noise cancellation settings of Cancellation (low, high or plane), Neutral or Transparency (low or high). With the touch of one app setting I can tell a noticeable difference in what ambient sound is heard from low/Transparency to virtually none/Cancellation. I really appreciate the functionality of these noise cancellation options when I’m at work and want to vary just how “tuned out” I am.I’ve used a similar style of earbud before owning these so I am used to the fit of this style. It is nice that four pairs of silicone ear tips are provided that include from XS/S/M/L. By default the earbuds come with size medium ear tips attached. The charging case is very nice quality and slides easily to access the earbuds. The battery status is clearly noted with a green, orange or red LED light. The built-in rechargeable batteries offer six hours of listening with noise cancellation. In addition, the carrying case holds an additional four full charges with up to 18 hours of power banked to wirelessly recharge the headphones. The charging case will easily fit into a pocket, but is a bit heavier than other brands I have used; likely due to battery capacity.Perhaps I’m easily pleased, but I felt the default settings produced a really nice, vivid sound. Add the options within the noise cancellation features in the app and I am quite pleased with the functionality of these wireless earbuds. Others have noted issues with the touch controls working consistently, but I found them to work fairly well once I got accustomed to using them. Aside from the packaging box taking a little effort to slide open I think the negatives are very few. The positives in terms of sound quality, battery life and excellent noise cancellation make the Devialet Gemini wireless earbuds a really nice option.
I really wanted to like the Devialet Gemini wireless earbuds. Knowing the history of Devialet and their bluetooth speakers, I was expecting to be impressed! Unfortunately, these headphones, in my opinion, are average at best. They have decent sound quality with decent bass response, but I can't say that it is a vast improvement over other, MUCH cheaper, wireless bluetooth headsets. These wireless earbuds are expensive! They come with a charging case to store them in which also doubles as the way you pair the headphones with your mobile device. This took several attempts and, at one point, even after the headset was paired to my android phone, I had to pair them again because they would not connect. This took several attempts and, at one point, even after the headset was paired to my android phone, I had to pair them again because they would not connect. The earbuds also have an app that can be downloaded to your mobile device. This lets you customize all the features of the headset, such as adjusting the EQ and turning on the active noise cancellation. If I had to say one positive about these earbuds, it would be about the noise cancellation! It blocks out a huge amount of background noise which is really nice when listening to music. I did actually enjoy that feature. There is also a feature that allows you to listen to audio while being aware of your surroundings. The headset passes outside sounds right through into the earbuds. This feature was nice as well. Trying to talk on the phone was disappointing. The call audio would randomly cut in and out from either one or both of the earpieces. Also, voices on the phone conversation audio sounded very mechanical/robotic. I have used other, much cheaper headsets that sounded a lot more natural. For a high end audio company I would expect every aspect of these earbuds to be top notch. Unfortunately, I feel like they leave a lot to be desired.
We both love music. We listen just relaxing and chilling and whenever outdoor activities safely allow us to do so as well. These have the ability to let you decide how much noise cancellation you want or is safe for your current situation.I seldom block out everything with them as I prefer to stay aware of my surroundings on the street, in the woods or wherever. The sound is rich and clear for my ears( with a little adjusting of my equalizer I can produce a concert that only I can hear while my wife listens to the music she prefers. She has a set of the near same model from Bose and has threatened to take these away from me as she thinks they really sound that good.We were able to get a perfect fit as we have used this type of earbud for years and finding the ... MoreWe both love music. I never heard of Devialet before but I know them now. Their Gemini earbuds are outstanding! The fit is comfortable as they come with 4 sizes of eartips so you can pick the ones that fit your ears most comfortably. Once I paired with my phone and started playing tunes I became completely impressed by the amazing sound quality! The Gemini work great straight out of the box however to get the most out of them download the Devialet smartphone app which adds a lot of fine tuning capability. They have apps for Apple iOS and Android that you can download from their respective stores. The level of active noise cancelling is app adjustable so that you can dial in the level of ambient noise that you desire. They have apps for Apple iOS and Android that you can download from their respective stores. The level of active noise cancelling is app adjustable so that you can dial in the level of ambient noise that you desire. In an office environment I like a little noise cancelling but I also like to hear a bit of ambient noise just so I have a feeling of what's going on around me. So, in the app I set for low noise cancelling and I get the best of both environments. There are preset equalizer settings but you can also custom tune for your taste. The typical graph representation with sliders makes adjustment super easy. It's also an expected feature that these earbuds have voice capability so you can use during phone calls on your paired smartphone but also able to have one touch voice control with either Siri or Google Assistant. They also have basic controls for volume, muting, pause and play, and next and last song. I especially like the auto pause feature that will pause songs when you pull the buds out of your ear.The case is a rechargable charging dock boasting 24 hours of autonomy allowing up to 6 hours of playtime on a single charge. While traveling and the earbuds get low on juice just toss them back into the case for a quick recharge and at the end of the day plug the case into a power source using the included USB-C cable or toss onto a Qi compatible wireless charging base (note that a charging brick is not included which seems to be the new trend which while I understand why but if you need one you need to purchase separately). So the elephant in the room is are they worth the $300. Well... I'd put these up against Sony and Bose high end wireless noise earbuds in quality so the value is there.By the way... the Devialet Phantom speakers look amazing and hopefully sound as good as they look but well over my audio equipment budget!!
