Denon DP-300F Turntable

I bought this as a replacement for an old turntable which was part of a not quite so old Technics Midi System. Over 30 years since I last bought a turntable! The footprint of the product is larger than its predecessor, but as I will no longer need to use the external pre-amp there is just room on the cabinet shelf. I play LPs and sometimes need to pick an individual track - not a problem even though it's badged as automatic. Assembly straightforward and quick with one exception. Assembling the product does make you appreciate the solid build - metal turntable, MDF base etc. The one part of assembly which was time consuming was balancing the tone arm, which was fiddly and required patience. One tip - don't throw away the box until you've checked the contents - some ... MoreI bought this as a replacement for an old turntable which was part of a not quite so old Technics Midi System. One tip - don't throw away the box until you've checked the contents - some smaller items are taped to the packaging of the main unit. And the sound? Excellent as regards both voice and music, a turntable which is suitable for my admittedly modest system. Better clearer sound than the unit it replaced, particularly noticeable when a higher volume is needed.

I have purchased a lot of my hifi equipment from Richersounds over the years . My first foray into the world of hifi was way back in the late seventies at the original London Bridge site and I’ve been a regular customer ever since . My latest upgrade was for my turntable and the Denon DP300F is perfect for my needs . The automatic feature is excellent meaning no more need to make sure I’m close at hand if the album comes to an end . The turntable is relatively easy to set up , The instruction book guides you through every aspect of setting up the player and it’s only minutes before it’s time to turn it on. For an entry level turntable the sound is very very good and I’m delighted with my purchase . For an entry level turntable the sound is very very good and I’m delighted with my purchase . For those of us on a budget but want the best possible sound for our music the denon really does the job . Richer sounds have always been my go to for the best equipment for my price bracket and they gave again met my expectations with this turntable. I was a relatively young man on my first purchase at richersounds, I officially become a pensioner next month and still purchase my equipment from RS . On price and quality they can’t be beaten .

I bought this on the 25 June 2024 as an upgrade to the Denon dp29f. I was advised by Richer Sounds when I bought the starter package from them last year that it was a good way to get back into listening to vinyl. The turntable was "free" the expensive item was the amplifier and the speakers were ok. The suggestion was that I could upgrade the stylus, the speakers and the turntable which I have now done. When I bought the starter package I was advised I had to get good cables to connect it all together. I was asked where I would be placing the sound system so you would know how long to make the cables. The other expense would be what is called banana plugs. Banana plugs are put on the end of the cable so that there are no loose strands and then you simply "plug" them ... MoreI bought this on the 25 June 2024 as an upgrade to the Denon dp29f. I am delighted with the sound of my new turntable although I am still learning how to adjust the weights etc. I am still using my vinyl weight, although not albums require me to put it on🙂.
