Dali Opticon 1 MK2 Bookshelf Speakers - White
The Opticon 1 MK2 is the most compact model in Dali'sOpticon Series. From the ultra-light soft-dome tweeter, to the wood-fibre woofer, and even the crossover, Dali's goals are low coloration and wide dispersion. The first is important because you want to hear your music the way it's supposed to sound, and the second because you're not always sitting in the acoustic ‘sweet spot’ and with wider dispersion you get better sound quality when listening off-axis. Designed to take advantage of smaller room acoustics, a pair of Dali Opticon 1 MK2s will deliver a soundstage with impressive depth. Opticon 1 MK2 is a true 2-way design featuring a 4¾" wood fibre woofer matched with a new large 29 mm soft dome tweeter derived from the high-end Callisto series.

From my first visit, the help that was provided by the team was brilliant. I only knew I wanted to hear my vinyl records again, yes the ones that had been languishing in storage for longer than I wish to remember . The recommendation of a whole system, the opportunity to hear what I could expect at home, and then hear the difference between various speakers, so that I could have the best possible audio for a bit more than my original budget. But, wow, am I happy. My vinyl sound like the musicians are in my lounge, the sound separation is fabulous. One of my best purchases ever. I couldn't be happier. This is my second review for these speakers, the first one appeared, then disappeared into the ether!Ordered these from the Brighton store and arrived the following day - great service as usual from RS.I upgraded from my Dali Zensor Pico's to these little beauties. I have limited space so stands are out of the question, so these are ideal because they can be wall mounted. After running them in for a week with various forms of music these speakers sound amazing with crystal clear vocals, and bass better than I imagined for a small speaker, although I run them with a REL Tzero Mk.2 sub to deepen the bass a bit.Very happy with my purchase, definitely recommended.

Bought a few weeks ago, along with a Cambridge CXA81 amp and REL 7/X subwoofer.Needed small speakers that could tuck right into the top corner of a big room, 10m apart - so spent a lot of time researching what might work. Decided to pair with a REL subwoofer to cover the lower dynamic range that smaller speakers wouldn’t get to.The setup has worked perfectly - the Dali’s seem to perform best tucked right up against the wall and in the corner. The treble and mid is superb and the bass they produce on their own is unbelievable! The CXA 81 is quite a powerful amp to go with them, but that works well to produce enough punch to fill the room, and there is no problem with them being 10m apart.Does need the REL to really fill the bass in the room, and creates the ... MoreBought a few weeks ago, along with a Cambridge CXA81 amp and REL 7/X subwoofer.Needed small speakers that could tuck right into the top corner of a big room, 10m apart - so spent a lot of time researching what might work. These should absolutely be on your demo list if considering speakers anywhere near this price point. They blew away the competition for me, and even beat an "open box" pair of KEFs in terms of enjoyability, which normally sell for £1000 (or maybe I just wasn't ready for the KEF sound ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)They are small and really forgiving of placement, which was important for me here living in the real world, and also are attractive enough to easily pass approval of my partner (I got them in white).Compared to many speakers, they may seem to be lacking bass, but for me they are simply well balanced and maybe need to be closer to the wall than I was used to... Judge for yourself!I would have liked to compare to the larger opticon 2...I paired with a Marantz PM6005
I went to the store feeling very interested in a different set of speakers which I duyl listened to, however Karl said if you like those then in my opinion you have to listen to the Dali Opticons, Karl swiftly set them up and off we went repeating the music list I had previously listened to.Wow! the Dali speakers revealed so much more detail, with far clearer separation of different instruments and sounds that the previous speakers hadn't revealed at all.Just to be sure i spent about 45 mins swapping between the two sets of speakers but it was fairly clear early on that it would be the Opticons that I was going to purchase. Thanks Karl and Richer Sounds Solihull a great purchase.
Even though the perceived sound is a function of source, amplifier, speakers and room acoustics, playing small scale music such as chamber music, guitar solo or some jazz works well. Very clear and crisp sound. Trying out larger orchestral works with larger dynamic range sounded muffled; but then it would not be fair to expect that kind of music to be rendered well on small speakers.
Wonderful small room set up. Sounds great and will probably get better after some running in. Invaluable advice from the store manager to connect with the Chord Company Epic X cables. Added to my POWERNODE gave me a clutter free set-up. The infrared learning in the POWERNODE meant I could program a spare remote for volume, presets and track skipping. Very happy with my purchases from the Glasgow Branch.
Although I'm still waiting for the centre to arrive, the system sounds and looks great. It fits perfectly in the apartment and looks the business. Very happy with the recommended Arcam AVR10, REL HT1003 and Dali Opticon 1 Mk 2 set up. It has a warm yet detailed sound making viewing content truly immersive. But none of this would have been possible without the recommendations from Terry from the London Bridge, Richer Sounds. I came to you guys for advise and the best prices for high quality audio equipment and you certainly deliver.
I previously had Zensor 1 and wanted to try something new. Tried several speakers around the $1000 mark and these are my favorite by far. Bass is tight and punchy, plenty for a bedroom. The highs are more refined than the Zensors were which makes them a little easier to listen to. Dali speakers aren't forward like a lot of the other brands I've tried: very transparent and big soundstage. Hope to have these for many years to come.
Didn't know much about Dali Speakers but Richer Norwich branch recommended them so bought them on their say so. Then read media reports before I received them and realised I had made a good choice. These are the baby of the OPTICON range but you can feel the build quality when installing them and they are so heavy for their size. Sound quality was obvious from first album that I played and they even make CD's sound better!! Would highly recommend.
