I bought the Aird 4000 and Aird X 601HFS a few years ago now - being a Daiwa fan from when I was a kid. It’s a fantastic boat set up for an intermediate or experienced fisherman. I recently took it out on a five day trip and gave it a decent touch up on two full days of salt water fishing. Came home, cleaned it, took the spool off, oiled it etc. it is running superbly. Very nice smooth action. Highly recommended.

I bought this reel (LT 4000) about a year ago and it has become my favourite. I use it most weekends on Sydney Harbour and its great for a long session.

Smooth and punches well above its class. Easy casting, minimal slop, it's tight for the money. Consider.

Best bang for your buck product made from Diawa. Paired it with a the Daiwa Revros Spinning Rod 2-4kg 2pce 702ULFS.
Used this reel 4000 size to flick lures chasing flathead but hooked up to a good size barracuda. Reel performance was great during the course of the fight. The drag is smooth as I felt the power of a decent size barracuda. Unfortunately I was using 14lb leader so it wore out and I lost the fish.No complaints especially for the price.
Love this reel, got recommend by a mate when I was setting up to go kayak fishing. Has survived a couple of accidental dunkings in salt water with no drama!
Great fun and lightweight reel, first trip out with it caught two Tarwhine. Love it compared to my old Sienna.
What fantastic value for money. This is my third one (first 2500 size) and it has been absolutely brilliant. Smooth operation, ultra smooth drag and comfortable to use. I'm running 10lb braid on it and having a blast on the kings.
A day after i got this i hooked a rat kingfish and it started smoking after a small run and my braid melted. the bearings are awful and it is so bad all this because of one run. DO NOT BUY THIS REEL!!!!
I got this for my birthday about 7 months ago and it still feels brand new. Perfect for fishing in estuaries and freshwater. Great on a light rod around 7ft.
