I have really enjoyed my Mallet 3 pedals. They are great clip less pedals and ok flat pedals. I run these with the Crank Brothers Mallet E lace shoe and they work seamlessly together. My only complaint with this pedal is that they are pretty heavy and they are a little hard to get used to as flats but they work perfectly well. I teach MTB camps and I run flats all day on these for that and it works great. If you run flats a lot, I would recommend you look at the Mallet enduro because it has a slightly larger platform.

Best clip system in the biz. If you can snag some mallet shoes, you will be set!!Some mallet models, not sure if just older ones or what, do not come with pins on the pedal around the clip mechanism. Having those extra pin for grip if you come unclipped and have to get back in, the pins provide some stability, especially if conditions are wet. Take a close look at the pic to make sure they have pins if that is your preferance.

I put these on my gravel/commuter/fitness bicycle, which is probably overkill, but overall I'm really enjoying these pedals. They definitely took some getting used to but after about a month of use I feel like I can clip in and out of them very easily. It never unclips unintentionally, no matter how hard I'm pedaling. I like the 2 options of float but I recommend starting with a the larger angle if they are new to you. They are also way lighter than they look. I will probably switch them to my mtn bike once I get back to the trails more frequently.

Unfortunately didn't have any Mallet DH pedals in stock, however I gave these a try until I can get my hands on a set. Very surprised with them, not that much smaller than the DH pedal, and cheaper to boot. Definitely becoming a staple pedal on my bikes
I use these pedals because of the rounded profile.When pedal strikes do happen, the rounded corners don’t catch or wedge into roots and rocks. This is the reason I use these pedals.Platform is big for my size 14 shoe. Plenty of grip if you aren’t clicked in.I like how they look with the raw finish, spring color, and rounded profiles.
Pedals are amazing. Love the color scheme and how the pedals function. Can’t go wrong with crank brothers and the product they produce. Shout out to Ridge and River! The shipping time was amazing. Ordered on Saturday evening and they were on my doorstep Monday morning.
I replaced my Candy pedals with these due to more technical riding style I picked up in the high desert riding style I find myself in. I love the ability to clip out and ride flat when I get scared... concerned. I have hit these on a few (hundred) rocks and they are scared but still solid. I would buy them again but will probably upgrade to the Mallet E next time. Not because they don't perform but I have an upgrade habit when I replace something. I also have recommended it to friends as a first clipless since they can easily ride them as flats when desired. They are a bit of a compromise as a flat but that is not what I see as their primary purpose. They are great as a clipless pedal. Bottom line, a great pedal
A great platform pedal for my Marin Headlands 2 gravel bike. My son uses them on his downhill bikes out West and encouraged me to try them. I wanted a pedal that I could clip into securely but also a broad platform for errand running or tooling around the beachfront...so the CB Mallet 3 was a great choice. Moving from a speedplay pedal that has tons of float movement, the standard cleats were simply too stiff and unyielding causing knee discomfort. So I purchased the CB cleat that offers more float and found them to be more forgiving on my old, trashed knees. The release is still stiff, but this is what this pedal design was made for, but I have grown accustomed to it. I’ve been riding these pedals for several years now and they have been rock solid. They still feel as locked in as the day I got them, and require very basic maintenance to keep them running smoothly. I came from riding flats and the difference in climbing efficiency was definitely noticeable. I would recommend these to anyone who is ready to move to clipless.
Very happy with these. I have 4 pairs of egg beaters, but wanted something for my fat bike that I could hop on without bike shoes for a quick spin. These work great because they are relatively low profile, and the lower q factor is good for the fat bike that is already wide. Still easy to clip in to, while also being easy to stand on.
