The energy-saving SUV allrounder that gets you to both rural and urban. The partner for your commute, running errands and the weekend tour. The advanced new compound based on activated silica compounds, this technology was originally intended as a performance level compound, but after intensive development at the Korbach research and development department facility, an advanced new compound with outstanding grip and cross-country properties was developed. This new rubber mix, given the self-explanatory name “PureGrip”, is ranked just behind the BlackChili compound and is being used in performance products both in the road and mountain bike sectors. Whilst providing great grip, it is also long-lasting and highly durable – both characteristics of Continental tires, which are exclusively manufactured in the factory in Hefei (Asia). The ShieldWall system combines the optimum combination of high puncture protection and low rolling resistance with low weight. This is made possible by an additional, all-round puncture protection layer, which consists of a finely woven cross fabric. This gives the tire a high resistance to punctures and damage. Despite its additional ply, the tire has a very good damping property and a high degree of flexibility to adapt perfectly to the ground. The revolutionary tubeless ready bead allows easy and uncomplicated mounting of the tire. For best results in sealing and in use, the use of the new Continental RevoSealant sealant is recommended.

Disappointed with quality of these tyres

When I first installed these tyres, both had a few tiny holes in the tyrewalls. My sealant fixed them but after 3 or 4 weeks of daily use they are holing again on the sidewalls. Also one of the tyres was difficult to inflate due to a kinked tyre wall metal beading.

Rubans are falling way short of my expectations. I have four of them right now, 27.5x2.1. Front and rear my bike and wife's bike. First disappointment is that the casings don't run true. I make the effort to true our rims with dial indicator - more true than naked eye can discern. But these Conti Ruban casings have very noticeable lateral kick in one area. Yes, the concentric rings are even all the way around the rim on both sides.Anyhow, I'm finally motivated to post a review because I'm fed up with how easily these tires permit sand burrs to penetrate. Sand burrs fall off of a weed that is common along trails and in "grassy" areas. These aren't goatheads - they are much smaller and softer. Stepping on them barefoot may be a slight discomfort but they don't draw ... MoreRubans are falling way short of my expectations. I have four of them right now, 27.5x2.1. Stepping on them barefoot may be a slight discomfort but they don't draw blood. We have other bikes plus I've been riding for over five decades. These are the most easily flatted tires I've ever had - ever.As another reviewer stated, the rolling resistance of Rubans is low. But, I'm spending more watts of energy fixing flats than we save during the ride. If you have an odd application needing a low resistance 27.5 MTB tire for indoor use at low RPM (so you don't see the lateral kick) then these may be a good choice.

Very grippy tyre for roads and trails, side wall is very thin/light, not sure how it would stand up to a rock strike however for the purpose what it was manufactured for it’s a good tyre.

Low rolling resistance + good puncture protection
23 April 2023

Used this on my mountain bike for commuting 34km 5 days a week for 2months. Not had a puncture. Less effort to ride the bike as the tyre seems to roll quicker on the road. Decent grip on clay mountain bike tracks. The tyre has balanced support for riding on the road and mountain trails

Perfect for the winter
16 November 2023

I chose the Conti Ruban tyres for a 650b conversion on my bike for the winter and couldn't be happier. I live out in the sticks and commute into the city along an old railway path and the Rubans handle the mud, grit and standing water pefectly. Bike feels incredibly stable in slippery conditions, and *I* feel much safer going in towards the winter, especially as we start to get to more icy or slushy conditions down on the line.

These things slap
15 July 2022

They are one of the few tires I've found that does genuinely good across all surfaces. Pavement, hard pack, loose gravel, dirt, and mud. I can lean into corners while transitioning between surfaces.Rolling resistance is pretty low too.Whoever designed this over at Continental, my hat goes off to you.Already put 100 miles on the things and they seem to be holding up great so far. Will update as they wear

great tire even for non-ebikes
9 October 2023

Continental bills this as an all-arounder ebike tire. I needed a front tire for my non-e Santa Cruz Hightower and this was on sale so I figured I'd take a chance. It may be suited for "rural to urban" riding, as the Conti website says, but it's also about perfect for MTB'ing. I can't speak for longevity and our trails have been mostly dusty dry since I got this with just enough rain to produce occasional hero dirt, but it does fine on dirt, rocks, roots, and everything else I've encountered. Yes, I'd buy this tire again and yes, I'd recommend it to others.

very good tires!
12 May 2023

This is my second set of these. I replaced the first pair after one year and over 8,000 miles on them. Works very well tubeless with stans no tubes sealant. no complaints.

works for my ride
19 September 2022

I ride mostly paved greenways and gravel trails (roads) with some mud and they work well for me. Many mountain bike tires seem to wear fast on pavement but so far these are holding up well with my 100+ miles on pavement. On gravel the tend to pick up gravel but has not been a problem for my still of riding. My ride is a 29 inch mountain bike with front suspension. I would buy these again for sure.
