I really liked the original CLUE when I was younger. Bought it to play with my son. We played it all together as a family and I was surprised to find the board different then I remember. The rules have changed too. The spacings on the board are WAY big, so you can pretty much get to any room you want on a turn. This takes a bit of the fun out of it. So we took a black permanent marker and simply divided each square in half. Worked great, and now the game is much more fun as it's a bit more challenging! Just like the original. We do like that the board now has 2 sides and 2 game cards. Add's a bit of variety to it. Same basics as the original, good price. All in all, we do like this game and the price but would recommend the modifications for children over 8 to make ... MoreI really liked the original CLUE when I was younger. Clue is a great family game or group game where each person must use their rational skills and deduce who has committed the alleged crime of the game. All by chance and allows for a number of variable scenario outcomes depending on number of players per game.Younger children rather enjoy the challenge, the make-believe plot and role play involved in the game.Small pieces are used in this game and need to be kept out of reach of toddlers so they do not swallow or choke on loose pieces. Although as a little kid I thought they were perfect for my Barbie dolls hahaIf you find this game no longer challenging enough or have a great love for Sherlock Holmes... there is a vintage game that is occassionally available titled: 221B Baker Street. I enjoyed the classic version better. The characters were a lot more interesting in the original. The character remake appeals to teenagers since the characters look to be that young. I think the price is reasonable for a board game. It’s tons of fun, though! My best laughs with one of my friends was when I used a “surfer dude” accent to accuse her of the crime while playing with the beach board game option.
This game is so fun we have played this game for years even kids at the age of 6 can play. You dont have to play it the way it says if you do it can be a long one but the way my family plays it you can play multiple times in a half hour. This is so fun to try to figure out who did it with what and where. Our kids always love to play this. I like how many game cards they involve so you can play it time after time and not run out so quickly with the marking cards. I highly recommend this product and the price is not bad for a board game.
Clue has always been my favorite. I loved the movie with Tim Curry and I loved the OG game. The artwork is a bit different in this version but overall it's the same game. I'm a nostalgic gal - Gen Xers always are, but I still enjoyed this immensely. I own the old version I bought off ebay just to have the old artwork but they did a great job on the updates. I wish I could say the same about the Monopoly versions that they're putting out or the cheap plastic games like Guess Who which are too flimsy but with Clue Hasbro did awesome!
Great replacement pieces! I was missing some Suspect Pieces, some of the Suspect Cards, Room Cards, Weapon Cards, Evidence Envelope, and Note sheets. All of these Cards are the same size as a standard playing card and fit in the Suspect Envelope, I use the Green backed Suspect Cards with the Black backed Weapon Cards and a set of Pink backed Room Cards to make sorting, shuffling and dealing the appropriate categories. It cut down on the arguing of the younger players! Love the actual metal weapons!
