Kiehl’s kindly gave me the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Serum for free so that I could review it. I always wanted to add vitamin C in my skincare routine but I hesitated to buy it as I had bad breakout experience in the past and vitamin C products are expensive but can get oxidation quickly. I was really excited to try this vitamin C from Kiehl’s. The texture is light and absorbs in the skin quickly, which makes my skin soft and moisturizing in the next morning. It has light fragrance but it doesn’t bother me at all. I don’t have to keep this product in the fridge or prevent it from the sunlight like other vitamin C products, which is a big bonus point. I can see the fading newly scar spots. It doesn’t show much improvement on the black spot marks but I guess it ... MoreKiehl’s kindly gave me the Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Serum for free so that I could review it. I love this product, it doesn’t give me any breakout and works as a great addition in my routine. I could buy it again when it has a sales.

I have hyperpigmentation from acne and over the past decade I’ve tried so many products to reduce the dark spots but nothing has worked. After a breakout last month I purchased this product to see if it would work for me and within a few weeks I could already see results. The prominent dark scars have faded to a point that would usually take a year to fade too. I definitely recommend using it as a spot corrector rather than using it all over your face, so that you’re only targeting the problem areas.I have had no skin irritation with this product but I have seen some of the other reviews mentioning a stinging and itchy feeling after applying. This corrective dark spot serum from Kiehl's is fairly nice and lightweight. It has a good consistency to it but it isn't for sensitive-skinned girls as it is incredibly strong. Additionally, this serum is heavily fragranced so it's not for people who are sensitive to smells in their skincare or who are allergic to fragrance. This does not bother me, however, as I have normal skin. :)I like the formulation as it features vitamin C. It has made a difference in mere days by brightening up my skin and over time, it will fully even out my dark splotchy areas. Be very VERY careful, however, not to use this serum with any kind of actives. That means no AHA/BHA/PHA, no retinoids, and no glycolic acids in your other skincare products. If you use an active with this serum, you are likely to get a chemical burn. Also, please make sure to wear sunscreen with this because vitamin C makes your skin very sensitive to the sun.I think this serum is best used twice a week if you have sensitive skin and working your way up to daily. I use it morning and night and my skin tone does see very quick results with the brightening so I'd say Kiehl's has worked very hard on this serum to make it a good value. :)

Finally, a strong vitamin c that doesn't irritate my dry skin. My husband and I have both been using this product consistently for 2 to 2.5 weeks once every other day (daytime application). Although this isn't much time I like to give an honest review after a month. Application: very smooth Application, its not sticky or tacky and I can say I CAN apply it underneath makeup which is a huge plus for me..within this short time of using the product he noticed his dark spots slightly fading along with same small acne spots that faded. Also, he is extremely sensitive to strong scents and cant stand anything with a strong scent this product doesnt bother him at all he said he could do without the scent all together but it didn't bother him all that much.I noticed a ... MoreFinally, a strong vitamin c that doesn't irritate my dry skin. I am very happy with my results so far, and I am definitely looking forward to continuing to use it. (I did receive this product from Bzz Agent, but please understand I would never mislead anyone I always give my honest opinion)
I received the Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Serum in exchange for my honest opinion. The key ingredients were Activated C and Buffered Salicylic Acid, both meant to brighten skin with the salicylic acid providing exfoliation as well. It is a very light serum that does not feel sticky on the skin. The serum has a slight scent from the linalool and lavender oil. It is pleasant and did not irritate my sensitive skin, but I would prefer a serum with no added fragrance to ensure no irritation with continued use. The vitamin c derivative used is known for being stable, and I did not observe any oxidation. My skin did look brighter from continued use. I love this serum. It is so lightweight and hydrating. It is not sticky at all. I can apply it in the morning without it interfering with my makeup. It seems to work seamlessly under my foundation. So far I haven't had any sensitivity or breakouts from this which is amazing because normally I am super sensitive. Almost all dark spot serums tend to break me out but this one didn't which is such a major bonus. Great ingredients that are not only gentle but effective. So far I've had a pretty decent reduction in spots even though I've only used it for a few weeks. I only apply it to one side of my face that way I can get true results. Now I can incorporate it into both sides and make it a permanent part of my routine since I know it works! Great serum!
I used this on one area - my chin as this is where my marks show up the most frequently, and in the time I used it, I saw only a minor difference in the color of the marks, it was barely even noticeable. It contains a fair amount of alcohol and not a great deal in the way of effective lightening ingredients to fade dark spots or acne marks. There's Vit C, a couple of plant extracts, an AHA (Citric acid) and a BHA (Salicylic acid) and that's about it! The rest were humectants and binding ingredients. With a few tweaks to the ingredients list I'm sure this could be a great product. As it is, I just didn't find it all that effective. ~ My Top 5 Beauty Must-Have list ~1. I've been dealing with a couple of dark spots on my face for a couple of years. They are above my upper lip and cheek. I've tried avoiding the sun and I've started wearing sunscreen whenever I knew I would be in the sun and it's helped not make it worse, but the spots are still there. Kiehl's Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Correcting Serum has made a huge difference. I've used it for a few weeks and my trouble areas are much lighter. Kiehl's is one of the handful brands that I became a regular customer after trying their products. So far, I’ve used many of their skincare products including cleanser, toner, lotion, and mask. I have combination skin and probably used to strong ingredients. I have to say this Kiehl’s Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Correcting Serum is pretty strong. So if you are using this one, try not to use other active ingredients. The serum contains Salicylic Acid and Vitamin C that I’ve been using for years that actually worked for me. I came back from an international trip a few months ago that caused me some acne breakouts. I don’t like my uneven skin tone/dark spot after the acne treatment. The serum isn’t sticky but absords pretty quick into the skin. The scent is there but not too strong and overwhelming. Overall, this product succeeds in proving its worthiness for the high price point. However, considering Kiehl's has promotion all the time, the price is pretty reasonable.
