~ Greetings, finally I found a box color that I can incorporate with my home hair coloring routine! I have purchased so many different home hair colors kits from high price to low price and have been very disappointed with color results and drying effects of after color and after wash as well; as shallow and poor quality of coverage on my roots. However, not this time around as I opted in and purchased Clairol nice n easy color permanent in medium brown 5N, and so very happy with the results that I will explain! First and foremost, I have really thick hair and whites as well; this color is a strong color and it covered all my gray hair and gave a beautiful, vibrant and healthy look to my hair! It is a bit expensive however worth every penny for such great color! It takes me usually two boxes to complete roots towards mid range of my hair! The application process is easy, and it takes about 25 minutes for the color to develop! They have several many shade range that will compliment many faces and skin tones! The scent is strong, however, not overwhelming! I am truly happy with the results! A+++

Don't you just hate those stubborn sneaky greys that hide in full sight? I was sent the new @clairol_uk_ire #ClairolColourBlend to test. My hair has changed texture in the last few years. I have dry/frizzy 3B/C hair. Welsh weather does nothing to charm my fine hair into tumbling curls at the moment. The kit comprises of everything needed to touch up regrowth. Brush, mixing dish, colour, developer, gloves and full instructions. The only thing missing was a protective bonnet but I used a conditioner shower cap i already had at home. I was sent shade #6 which is the perfect shade for me. It was really easy to apply the colour on parting, edges , nape (when hair in an up-do). I had enough mixture to cover where necessary, with enough left over if needed during ... MoreDon't you just hate those stubborn sneaky greys that hide in full sight? The Instructions advise is to develop for 10 minutes. At this point, I checked the development and added remainder to the very stubborn greys for another 5 mins [15 in total]. No sting, no unpleasant smell, no dripping]. Very easy to rinse out on the shower without any skin staining. Most of my greys were covered, blended well. I did have a few sneaky strays that didn't blend. So, whilst I didn't manage 100% cover, I'd guess 95% coloured satisfactorily. A great result for first use. My top tip. I keep the top box flap for colour reference for my next shopping trip. I rarely remember the product range/colour when I see the full range on the shelf. #Gifted in exchange for honest review** #Clairol #ColourBlend #curlyhair

Even my husband just asked me what I did to my hair and it wasn't a compliment!

I used Nice n easy 8A medium ash blonde on my naturally dark ash blonde hair. When it first dried it looked like I dyed it 6.5. It seems to be getting a little lighter with each wash, I think it’s a 7 now. So hopefully it’ll eventually get to the color it’s supposed to be. I usually use L’Oréal preference 8A and my hair ends up exactly the color on the box. However, my hair looks and feels healthy after the nice n easy, which it definitely doesn’t after I use the L’Oréal preference hair color. And the nice n easy smells so much better and didn’t bother my scalp at all. So despite the problem with the color, I’d try nice n easy again. My hair is very fine, curly, and high porosity. So maybe that’s why the dye took too well. Maybe I need to try a lighter color or not ... MoreI used Nice n easy 8A medium ash blonde on my naturally dark ash blonde hair. Hoping it lightens up, I have pale pink white skin and blue eyes, which doesn’t suit this brownish hair color.
If you have drab medium brown hair, as I do, this haircolor cream will NOT end up looking like the photo on the box. Never does it yield the gray tone that the box shows. It is more like a brassy, slightly lighter version of my natural hair, which is not what I was going for. It does not really lighten a whole lot. I guess if you want the color on the box, then you have to take your hair down to a bleached-blonde level, and then use this color. Maybe then it would achieve the desired results, but that is a whole heck of a lot of damaging chemicals to put onto your head in one sitting. The color is not what I want, plus it fades down to a yucky reddish-goldish tone that is absolutely NOT what I want. It might work for someone with already light hair or else hair ... MoreIf you have drab medium brown hair, as I do, this haircolor cream will NOT end up looking like the photo on the box. They've messed with the colour and formula. I have fine dark brown hair with natural red undertones. I purchased Medium Ash Brown 5A to lighten my hair a couple of shades and cancel out the natural red in my hair. Firstly, the blue bottle is gone and it's a tube you have to squeeze into the bottle, so more fuss. As it was developing the foam looked reddish which was odd, then the end result was light - medium orange/red hair, exactly what I don't want! There are no cool tones or ash colour just warm orange/red especially at the roots. This was applied to natural hair. I've been using this shade for years and they've changed the formula, colours and packaging, it's all worse. I checked online and others are saying the same, that this is a warm shade. My scalp has been sore all day. How could they go so wrong? The best was the original formula when it was owned by P&G. I'm so upset and disappointed with this hair shade, it will need correcting and more time wasted and damage to my hair. This is not an ash brown but an irange/red brown, so misleading of Clairol, read other reviews before purchase.
I was very worried as I'd let my gray roots grow out about 2 inches. I was expecting "hot roots" which is when the roots, because they are SO MUCH LIGHTER than the rest of the hair, turn out a few shades lighter than the rest of hair. NOT SO! I have rich, lush EVEN color coverage by following the directions on the box to the letter. I've tried many leading, more expensive brands but Clairol Nice & Easy 'Dark Auburn, 4R' , is the absolute WINNER, HANDS DOWN, for beautiful, rich color that looks natural. Not too brassy red and looks natural. I am 62 years old and have been dying my hair for over 20 years . You won't be disappointed with this product. This review is for both products. Clairol is my tried & true go-to for excellent coverage & lovely 4R Dark Auburn color!
Was very impressed with the Clairol at home hair dye. The box comes with everything you need : Gloves, Applicator, Conditioner etc. I really do like the applicator from Clairol as it allows for more precise targeting at the scalp and roots. The formula, once mixed, distributed really nicely over my hair and wasn't too thick or runny to work with - in the words of Goldilocks - it was just right! The set timings indicated on the accompanying instructions were correct and once I rinsed my hair initially (pre-conditioner) I could already tell the colour was beautiful and that it had taken really well. The included Conditioner is a great size, a little goes a long way too for the more frugal of us! It has a really pleasant yet subtle fragrance. I love this hair dye, it fully coloured my hair to a rich deep red and the dye and conditioner left it soft and silky, despite it being damaged through dying, bleaching and heat styling. I would definitely choose this product again but I would prefer a lighter red as this colour is a little dark for my skin tone.I used the gloves and mixed up the colour as directed. It was easy and mess free. The product was thick enough to stay on my head without dripping and it had a pleasant smell and foamy feel. It was easy to push it down onto my roots. I left it for 25 minutes as directed and then washed it off thoroughly (again very easy) and then applied the conditioner and left it on my hair for 5 minutes before rinsing. Where to begin... I have (or had) natural ginger hair. I hadn't dyed it for over 20 years as I actually began to like my natural colour. It had recently felt a little dull and the tone I chose was almost exactly my hair colour so I though it might add a little brightness to my natural colour. What it did was shocking.I don't know how it managed it but it lightened my hair making it almost bright orange! It looked so unnatural that I cried.I let it sit for a few days hoping that it might tone down a little but it didn't so I had to purchase more dye. The only darker tone being reddy brown so, now my once beautiful hair is unnaturally copper brownish and I have to live with that.I followed all instructions carefully and left the dye on for the time described. The ... MoreWhere to begin...
