We purchased the "all gas" version, so the stovetop hotplates don't have ignition & the oven doesn't have a light- two features that we miss & in hindsight, probably should have opted for the electronic ignition & light model. The stove itself is great. The oven works so much better than what we previously had (the spark plug piezo ignition on the oven & grill also work great). I've never seen this before but bottom of oven base doesn't cover base (go under)of gas jets. There's a 10cm gap from left side to right side where I can actually see down under the base of jets & oven to the lino flooring, AND cochroaches! This is unbelievable as stoves & ovens should theoretically be a sealed unit shouldn't they? It was bought in 2014 & now i dont even use the oven - Makes me feel physically sick, like food could be contaminated in the oven when thawing out meat etc. Looking at buying a convection microwave.Chef Manual shows a solid enamel base. Really not impressed & not sure how long the warranty is but guess it's not 9 years. I didn't even realize this when I bought it!

Quick delivery.The top gas burners do not have a spark starter - however oven and griller each have an ignition button.I knew there wasn't going to be an oven light - because I do not have a power outlet near my stove -however, if you do have a power outlet nearby - you might think about choosing a Chef with an oven light.Cheers

I love this oven I've always had a chef I find them reliable and just all-round great to cook with. The all glass doors make it easy to see how food is cooking and cleaning them is easier. The grill is also great it's nice and deep and the stove top is easy clean also.It's a nice looking small oven that's great for a small kitchen while still allowing me to cook plenty of food for family and friends
This is a small and inexpensive and very good item that we bought to replace our 50 year old kitchen maid. It doesn't have a timer but we bought a magnetic timer on ebay, and sometimes the grill tray doesn't sit properly, seems to get stuck on the right hand side, however, having said that, it's nice to be able to have toasted cheese after 25 yrs without! The griller is excellent, and the oven lights well too, and holds heat. Compared to our old oven with the broken door, no griller working and a blown pipe, this is heaven. I would recommend this for units and for B&Bs etc. Very good.
My landlord decided to put one of these in our rental. Do not actually bother cooking with this. There is no clock, no timer, no temperature gauge, and the oven door will blow the thing off. All you can do is put the oven on full boar, flat chat, 250°C+ for whatever you need to cook, stick it in an hour later when it's actually warm, and double your cooking time. If you use more than one thing at a time you will only get 25% heat. If you put one of these in a rental property you deserve to have your assets seized by the state to pay for your crimes against your fellow man.
I was disappointed with this oven as I bought it for my elderly mum to replace her older version of it . I thought it would make it easier for her to use but its worse than her oven that was a 30 year old same brand. You have to use a lighter to light the stove and when you turn on the oven or grill , so much gas comes out you feel like you need to open windows . I honestly didnt think they even made ovens or stove tops that didnt Turn on automatically . Its so bad , I think I need to get her another oven for her own safety .
I love the fact that it has a separate griller and i personally like to light my gas top burners with a bbq lighter rather than an electric push button. So this model was perfect for my needs. The oven heats up really quickly and cooks food evenly.I purchased this model as i had the previous similar one of the same brand for over 20 years and never had a problem with it. All round im very happy with this product.
This is my second Chef stove and I only had to replace due to rodent infestation. I like the easy removal of the glass door and the separate grill. I didn't purchase next model up, as this wasn't available. The stove lasts a long time, without any problems and if you have limited space and a limited budget and natural gas I recommend this product.
Very good service in terms of being able to find the product and for being able install it by the Good Guys installer at an affordable price. Just was surprised that the product required an external lighter to light the top. The grill and the oven can be ignited with a button. Still ok to find an old style product that fits the measurements of my cooking space.
