I actually quite enjoyed this eye serum more than I thought I would. I have high expectations of eye creams because I have very dark circles (from lack of sleep not genetics), my skin is somewhat hollow under my eyes, I have sensitive skin and during winter my eyes become extremely sensitive to the heating and develops eczema. I like the bottle it comes in because of how it dispenses the product, though it is a very simple design, not very eye-catching.This eye serum actually feels really nice on my eyes, the texture is very smooth and sinks into my skin really well. I have had the pleasure of using the new Cetaphil Healthy Renew skincare range for two weeks now. I have been using the micellar cleansing water, eye serum, day cream and facial serum. I was very eager to try this Cetaphil range as it is a retinol alternative. I have somewhat dry skin that tends to be sensitive, especially with stronger active products.I was very excited to try the Cetaphil Healthy Renew Eye Serum, as it is packed with peptides and a retinol alternative, which appeals to my sensitive eye area! I have been using the cetaphil purified peptide eye serum twice daily and I am loving how hydrated my eye area is. The skin around our eyes is much thinner than the rest of our face and as someone who is trying my best to minimise crows feet and fine lines I know I need hydration in the eye area. I have only positive things to say about this serum! I can be sensitive as with many others when using products around my eyes and love that this isnt giving me any irritation or sensitivity. It doesn't absorb instantly on my eye area however it doesn't leave you feeling too hydrated affecting makeup applications either. I was lucky to be selected to trial this eye serum as part of the beauty trial for the new Cetaphil Healthy Renew range.I was extremely keen to try each product in this range, and they are all winners!The packaging for this eye cream is very elegant with the white and rose gold appearance.I have found Cetaphil to usually have a medical appearance to their products, so this was a very pleasant change! This eye serum is by far my favourite!In the first week of use I saw results. I have milia underneath my eyes, and is serum has started to reduce it. I have also noticed that I look less tired because the dark circles aren't as bad- but I'm positive with continuious use the fine lines/wrinkles will become less prominent.I found using nearly a full pump for each eye was enough product for me. It was easy to dispense and apply, and absorbed really well. It left your skin feeling like you had applied a product, but didn't leave it feeling heavy, too oily or tacky (like some eye serums I've used before). This is my new favourite eye cream! I was really impressed with how the Cetaphil Healthy Renew Eye Serum performed. You only need a tiny pump of the serum for it to go a long way. The serum is thick enough to be hydrating but lightweight enough to work under makeup without messing up the texture. With regular use I’ve noticed my dark circles getting brighter and the skin around my eyes is softer and smoother. The texture has evened out and my makeup doesn’t crease as easily around the eyes. It works great on my sensitive & reactive skin and I like that it’s not heavily fragranced, and instead barely has any scent. Despite stating it is coming with 'retinol alternative' purified peptide, on inspection the main active ingredient is Vitamin B (panthenol and niacinamide). It also contains rice lees and edelweiss extract. But I genuinely cannot work out from the ingredients list what is this miraculous peptide. Peptides is a generic name for short amino acid chains which may activate the skin surface receptors to trigger downstream reaction in the cells - but each peptide would have some specific functions depending on the amino acid sequence. I think it's pretty important for consumers to be able to understand and work out what is the action of this peptide - and I wish there is clearer information on this aspect.Otherwise, I found that the eye serum is pleasant to use. Absorbed well into skin and I noticed a visible glow after just a week of using. My skin responds very well to niacinamide and I've always known that, so it wasn't a surprise to me. I think this is a great serum to be used under eye cream in the evening, and it can be used alone (in replacement of eye cream) during the day.I really enjoyed using this product.
