I love wearing ball caps, especially on the days when I'm too lazy to wash my long hair, or when I know I'll be spending a lot of time outdoors. But as a woman I have a hard time finding ones that are good quality and fit well. I have a little collection of hats I've bought over the years but honestly, none of them are "just right". I actually bought this hat for my mom, she wanted a pink Carhartt hat, so I got here one. The price was right, personally I like these hats, they are pretty tough and fit well, they also look nice. The only thing I don't like about them is the button on top of the cap, after a while they start to rust, especially if you sweat a lot, other than that the hats a nice hat made well and durable I just wished they would change that one piece.

I've purchased these exact same hats for my painting crew for several years. At Cabela's and Murdoch's. All my guys love them. Very comfortable and fit great.I'm not sure what happened, they look absolutely ridiculous now. None of my guys will wear them. They don't fit right, there's way too much material on the top. I ordered 4 and they are all in the trash now. Don't waste your money.

Bring back the tan! Stop trying to innovate and stick to what works! Carhartt is becoming a fashion company instead of a working man's brand. Same goes for the t-shirts. You changed the stitching patterns a couple of years ago and they haven't fit right since. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel and make some tough clothing. Rant over
I bought this with $20 in points for one specific reason: to resell it on eBay! I can’t wear hats myself, because my head size is way too large for anything else but open visor hats! Nothing else fits on my giant skull or head! Believe me, I have already tried adjusting hats like this! It is nice, and well-made though!
I bought the black version of this cap a few weeks ago at another store and it fit my head perfectly. I love it so much I wanted to get another color. Dick's had the asphalt (gray) color that I wanted so I ordered it. When I got the cap, it was smaller than the one I'd bought elsewhere (see photo). It was definitely a men's cap (I checked the numbers), but when adjusted for my head the velcro strap was a full inch different. The bill felt different against my forehead too. None of this is the fault of Dick's. I likely wouldn't have felt anything was wrong if the previously purchased cap hadn't fit so perfectly. It is unfortunate, but now I can't just order a Carhartt Odessa cap and expect it to fit a certain way due to the inconsistency in manufacturing.
The hats are hit and miss. I've bought about 7 hats over past 3 years. One fits awesome, 2 fit 'ok', and the rest are bad. Your quality control department needs to pay attention to these hats. The fit should be consistent. Lately I've found them to be too small. I hate a tall hat, but I hat a completely flat hat too. Give more room in the crown. Please.
Maybe I have a small head but this thing is too big. Even at its smallest size it's still too big (deep) and it pushes down on my ears. I don't want this thing sitting with a gap of an inch between the top of my head and the hat. If you try to shrink it, yes it shrinks, but then the wrinkles becomes more pronounced so it looks like a raisin.
Carhartt changed it from the old version of the Canvas Cap. The old version was perfect and I wanted another one of it because I owe it so many times, its all worn out now. This new version is floppy which it does not slim to my head like the old version did. The visor of the cap is not as long, and it's wider as the old version. The visor being longer protected my eyes while working on the farm and while going out to practice shooting. Bullets never touched the safety glasses because it always hit the corner of the visor. I would give Carhartt 5 stars on the original version of the Canvas Cap but not this new version. Please someone tell me they're going back to the original version. It was my favorite hat.
