A big dislike! I race bikes. the new shape is hard to grab, and is slippery. The diameter is slightly smaller than previous making it easy to eject from bottle cage. The shorter nipple/mouth piece is a dislike also. While racing switching out bottles, I hold the empty with my teeth while grabbing the second bottle. The shorter nipple is hard to hold now. So a big dislike in this new shape!!Please bring back the previous style!

Now seemingly in v3, the Podium has been the very best cycling bottle I have found since their introduction after co-development with the Slipstream Sports ProTour team (was it Garmin then?), and they are indispensable to me. Over the many years and many miles, the Podium has never failed me on the bike or when traveling. Despite countless dishwasher cycles, I still use the first and second generation bottles in addition to the v3 Podium. I have never retired a Podium bottle — even my first generation bottles remain leak-proof — but I confess to sometimes losing one (just lost my third one). The cap seals perfectly and the nozzle locks completely, so the Podium bottle never leaks, even when banging around in the bottle of a bag. Unfortunately, It can be difficult to find the non-insulated clear bottles -- my fav and the sole reason for only 4/5 stars. I own one of the insulated bottles, but I've used it only a few times ever because I like to see the liquid level and insulation is a modest effect. Camelback, instead of opaque options, please introduce more colors of clear bottles!

I bought the Purple version and it is a super lovely mauve colour , which I am very happy about. It fits well on my bike and is easy to squeeze but I find the mouth piece quite stiff when turning open or close. Perhaps it is designed that way to ensure it doesn’t leak, which it definitely doesn’t when in the closed position. I’m happy to say that I haven’t tasted any plasticky tastes, which often happens with new plastic bottles.

We are a family of four who go biking casually on the weekends. We were looking for bottles that would be easy for all of us (including 9 year old twins) to get in and out of the cages and easy to open and close and drink from. We got that. The bottles fit in the cages nicely. With a little practice all of us figured out how hard we needed to squeeze in order to get just the right amount of water to come out (but it was fun and hilarious to watch the testing). The biggest complaint I have is that it's really hard to move the lever back and forth between the open and closed position on the lid. The kids can't do it at all and I find it frustrating. There is no way I'd be able to open it while it's in the cage while I'm riding. The kids can't do it at all and I find it frustrating. There is no way I'd be able to open it while it's in the cage while I'm riding. My husband rightly pointed out that this is a very small complaint indeed because there is really no need to keep the lid in the closed position. The bottle does not leak when it's in the open position and only dispenses water when you squeeze it.I like that the parts of the lid come apart for cleaning. It makes me feel like I can really get the bottle clean and that there isn't any mold lurking in it anywhere.I don't know whether this bottle meets the requirements for hardcore biking enthusiasts but for weekend riders like us it works really well and I recommend it.
tldr: The newly designed spout system is a horrible design that breaks easily. I expect more from Camelbak. They should be ashamed of this product and recalling these lids.—I have been a fan of the Camelbak Podium water bottle for several years now. I am an elite endurance sports athlete and make constant use of water bottles. I always keep a couple in the car, several on the bike, an extra one in each workout bag, etc. On 300+ mile cycling races, for example, my support vehicle will have a dozen+ so that they can swap me out as I keep riding along. You get the idea.I’ve made the Camelbak Podium my standard bottle so that all the lids are interchangeable. I make heavy use of my bottles, but I definitely don’t use them inappropriately. You get the idea.I’ve made the Camelbak Podium my standard bottle so that all the lids are interchangeable. I make heavy use of my bottles, but I definitely don’t use them inappropriately. I never chew on the lid or bite excessively. Of the 80+ Podium bottles I’ve owned over the last 8 years or so, I’ve only had a handful of spouts with the original-design fail. For the most part, I order new bottles because I’ve lost them or because I’ve given them away to friends. Seeing that my inventory was running low, I recently made a purcahse of 20 x Camelbak Podium 24oz water bottles. I could see in the online picture that the design of the lid had changed, and wasn’t sure if they’d be interchangeable with my older bottles. They were, and I was pleased. However, my pleasure was short lived as after only a few days the spouts started to break. It’s now been a couple of months and of my 20 brand-new bottles, only 10 have the spout intact! This is absolutely unacceptable and Camelback should be ashamed of this poorly designed system. I literally have some 8-year-old lids with the original-designed spout still in perfect condition, while these 2-month-old newly-designed spouts are ripped apart.Camelback, what were you thinking?
This is the perfect solution for the way I go to the gym. i stick the bottle on my bag and know it won't leak...as long as I remember to turn the top to the closed position. It's strong enough to holdup in the bag where I throw other things.I have one for my bike, but never thought about using these bottles in the gym. And I got bright colors (got 2 of them) so I won't forget to pick them up from the equipment I am using. At least that is the hope.
I've always loved their jet valve for pushing water out so I don't have to put my mouth directly to it.I do a lot of gravel riding. So it reduces the amount of dust I also take in4 stars because these new style caps don't give me a clean jet of water. There's a little side spraying. Unlike their previous version caps that lock and provide a clean jet of water.I never lock it out, so my remedy to this problem is removing a small inner piece that is a portion of their new locking seal. Jet comes out clean, but you lose the locking function
I cycle frequently and I prefer CamelBak over other bottle options and own many CamelBak bottles. I also only use the insulated bottles. The 24oz white speckle regular pictures shows the insulated bottle and still does as of this writing. The bottle looks nothing like the picture and the delivered bottles are transparent and not insulated. The insulated bottle in white is clearly white with speckles where the non-insulated one is clear plastic with speckles. Hence I returned it. Hopefully they read this review and correct the pictures.
I've never owned a bottle that doesn't leak... until now! You can tell this brand make bottles with a certain science. I know some will say its just a bottle that you drink from, but actually the smoothness and the quantity of which the water flows out feels bespoke. Easily the best bottle I've owned, has a premium feel to it. Only slight qualm is that I reserved instore and paid £12 online - but the bottle was £8.99 in the shop, so overpaid - my fault really, should have spoke up.
Excellent bottles fulfill all expectations and more. From other reviews, lets first state that if you're in any way incapable of managing a bottle with a top, please order a paper cup and ride with that. This is a great design - I ordered 4 different bottles, and just ordered 4 more today after HEAVY use for 2 months where the bottles performed better than hoped for. The details: The Podium 24 OZ fit in carbon bottle holders on a 49" Road bike frame. No rattle, easy to get out, tight fit. They are easy to squeeze water out of to drink from a stream, and will not drip sticky fluid on your bike frame while riding. Lids are tight and do not leak. There's a locking function, to use when transporting the bottle (laying down in a bag etc.) This keeps the bottle from ... MoreExcellent bottles fulfill all expectations and more. Bottles will not drip, even on bumps, when unlocked. Enough said. Love them, and stoked to soon have 8 various Podium bottles. Because colors... :)Also see separate review for the Podium Chill.
