+4 stars looks great, easy to put on, easy to strap, feels save, necessary flexibility-1 star because the fit of the boot does not match the size recommendation by Burton.Normally I have a 42.5, the recommendation based on Mondo was smaller. I did not follow the advice and ordered my common size 42.5. That size was way too small. Then I ordered a 43.5 based on a store recommendation even this size is a little tight in the front (when standing straight). I was playing with the thought to reorder once again a 44 but I did not because I think it is a new boot and it will be softer after couple of rides. But if you don't like that your toes touch the front a little then buy a boot +1.5 your normal size.FYI - tried the boots with “Men's Burton Performance + ... More+4 stars looks great, easy to put on, easy to strap, feels save, necessary flexibility-1 star because the fit of the boot does not match the size recommendation by Burton.Normally I have a 42.5, the recommendation based on Mondo was smaller. They started off very comfortable but after breaking in they developed a hard spot that pushed on my ankle bone. Cuts my day short now because of the pain. My left boot also engages completely different than my right boot. The heel will click when switching from heel to toe and upon further inspection I noticed that the boots have two complete different heel cleats. Using a straight edge there is a 3-4mm difference of where they sit on the boot and how they engage with the binding. I can’t believe this would pass QC. Very disappointed in these $400 boots..

I've been snowboarding since 1986 and all my softboots were the standard lace system. I'm a snowboard instructor at Aspen, Antwerp, Belgium. It's an indoor slope with real snow. When I teach beginners,90% of the time I am not on my board, walking and running around, helping people get up, etc. So I nedded a boot that is not to stiff. I never was a fan of speedlace , Boa, ..I love the simplicity of a laced boots, but the speed of getting in the boot and tightning it with Boa seduced me. I do recommend the double Boa, as they allow for a tighter lower foor, looser top, which makes walking that much easier. With a single Boa, it's all or nothing. I never really tried them, but to me that doesn't seem like a good option. The flex is on the stiffer side (I only used the boot for three days now, so they're still pretty new) but thx to the double Boa I can loosen the top so I have a bit more flex. All tightened up with the Step On binding, the feel is pretty stiff and direct, reminding me of my hardboot days. Overal, the Swath boot feels comfortable and it fulfills my needs all the way.

This was my first purchase from sun & ski and it went great. I'm looking forward to trying out these step on boots. Although they did not have my size in store shipping from another store was quick and easy with the help of the employees. I like the look of these boots however was disappointed they didn't have available the other color options I had seen online from other retailers.
Bought these as a replacement/upgrade to my 2015 Burton Imperial boot (sz 10.5) and Cartel EST bindings. Love to convenience of the step on! Very high quality, nice boot. Runs small however in the Burton Swath. Consider a 1/2 to 1 full size up. The size 11 fit me perfect. Giving this a 4 star simply because Burton, arguably the best snowboarding company should do a better job of making this boot true to size. Due to this, I had to exchange my newly purchased size Medium step on binding to a size Large. Size Medium binding accommodates up to a size 10.5 step on boot. Size 11+ moves to Large step on binding. Little inconvenient when ordering online and late in the season when supply isn't as plentiful.
Initially, I was a bit concerned about the fit of these boots, given their price. After about six wears, they felt great! I would normally order an 11 so I ordered an 11.5.The double BOA feature provides a great fit.In regards to warmth, the sleeping bag foil keeps your feet toasty. I live in MN and I hate big winter socks. I have been wearing thin socks in these boots (in subzero MN weather) and they stay warm.Overall, these boots and the burton step-in bindings are a game changer for me.I love them!
I've had the Burton Ion step ons for the last few years. While they've been the best fitting boot I've had (5th boot) I felt that the toe could've had a little more room after 6-7 days straight on the slopes.Combine that with also wanting slightly less stiff boots (the Ion's had very little give), I thought I'd try the Photon wides. While I haven't taken them up the mountain yet but have worn them all day at home. Exactly what I wanted - A wider front, stiff but not so stiff and painless/numb-free after a day walking around in them at home.
The best shoes I have ever had. No inserting, great feeling immediately. It doesn't pinch anything. I'm 42 now and the Step-On bindings are a blessing for my back. Finally no more fumbling. Otherwise my husband and daughter (skiers) had to wait for me. Now I'm done faster ;-). Super direct driving feeling! No more wobbling on the heels because the shoes at the back are too big. I am super happy :-)!
What a disappointment I bought a pair step in shoes, binding and new board. I have been riding for 15 years and finally decided to upgrade to a step in bindings and boots. I got my regular size shoes that I regularly wear from different manufacturers as well as burton and I assumed it would me the same for the step in boots. I was wrong. I went riding my foot started hurting a lot I called Burton customer service to ask them if there’s something wrong they told me I need to get bigger shoes which is not an issue. The issue is they would not take back the shoes that I used for a couple runs down the mountain. I tried to reason with a guy over the phone he was very rude and simply said we don’t return use merchandise. He said you should have walked around your house for over an hour to see if they fit.I recommend you buy other brands to get better service and if you must buy burton items buy from a local store where they have better customer service.I will open a claim with my credit card once I get my new boots and never recommend burton to any other one.
For the 1st time I tried the Burton step on boots and bindings on the slope. It was just perfect. Extremely fast and easy stepping in and out. Very responsive combination, better than any bindings with straps I had tried. The boots get locked in the binding very perfectly, as if they are just one unit. And to the Photon boots, they are very stiff but also comfortable. The foam inside shapes to your feet. After about one hour, they feel comfprtable but also holding so tightly that there is no room for your ankle to move loosely.I could really not expect better!
