I was running with my Adrenaline GTS 22 for almost a year and the difference between the gts22 and the Ghost 14 gtx is night and day. I didn't know that the GTS22 are stability shoes and my feet didn't like them for runs. My feet absolutely got pleased after I put on the Ghost 14 gtx and had a much more pleasant running, with way more bounce, way more cushion and a nice roll that gets me going cause its curved-up tip. I also learned that if you're gonna be lifting at the gym you should be as barefoot as possible so working out in the ghost 14gtx is comfortable but definitely not best. I had to super tighten them up and it's not a deal breaker at all. The laces feel kinda waxy at first and are slippery maybe cause of that sort of material.I walk 30 minutes to walk so these are my go-to commute shoes and have only used them when it's rainy. If it's dry outside I'll rotate them with my Adrenaline GTS 22 that are more visually appealing and a better choice for working out at the gym (trying to get chucks tho)The feeling inside is slightly warmer, firmer and harder because of the GTX formula so I don't think I will be using them during the summer, besides they're mostly black and probably get a regular Ghost next year, we'll see.But overall a great shoe I'm pleased with so far!

I purchased the Ghost 14 as a daily trainer for its stable neutral feel, its fit, its sufficient arch support, its style and design, and finally, for its light dense material.However, as an owner of 5 pairs of Ghost 14 training/running shoes, the lining material used on the heel and the top edge is not very durable. All 5 pair have premature wear and tear along the back of the heel and top edge. I rotate each pair daily during my workouts to extend the life of each pair. I have logged less than 150 miles on my oldest pair which I have owned less than 19 months.Also, the insole is made of cheap material and lacks adequate shock absortion/impact protection material; and the material used traps odor, requiring me to wash the soles twice per week. I use the soles ... MoreI purchased the Ghost 14 as a daily trainer for its stable neutral feel, its fit, its sufficient arch support, its style and design, and finally, for its light dense material.However, as an owner of 5 pairs of Ghost 14 training/running shoes, the lining material used on the heel and the top edge is not very durable. All 5 pair have premature wear and tear along the back of the heel and top edge. I rotate each pair daily during my workouts to extend the life of each pair. I have logged less than 150 miles on my oldest pair which I have owned less than 19 months.Also, the insole is made of cheap material and lacks adequate shock absortion/impact protection material; and the material used traps odor, requiring me to wash the soles twice per week. I use the soles from my other brand name running shoes to solve the problem which eliminates sweat odor and provides more impact protection and cushion; and thus, provides for a better improved running shoe for training.Finally, overall I love the engineering of my Ghost 14 which provides me the bennifits I seek, again, the material used to line the inside of the Ghost 14 is cheap and lacks value, including the insoles. Otherwise, the Ghost 14 could be the perfect running shoe if those areas are improved going foward! Thank you.
Brooks Ghosts are (for me) simply the most comfortable shoes for everything. I've tried a lot of different comparable brands and nothing even comes close to the Brooks Ghost when it comes to just feeling good on your feet. I have one pair for everyday wear and I've also been running in Ghosts for about 5 years now with no injuries. They fit my feet perfectly, transitions are incredibly smooth, and the stability/support is amazing (I've never even had the thought of rolling an ankle while wearing Ghosts). I don't ever have to think about my shoes or feet at all while wearing these, which is ideal. I'm not an elite runner or anything, but I typically place near the top of my age group for half marathons and I find Ghosts to be suitable and dependable for any and every ... MoreBrooks Ghosts are (for me) simply the most comfortable shoes for everything. I normally have enough extra room to accommodate days when my feet swell or I want to use a cushioned sock, yet still have a good fit when they are their normal boney size. Not with the 14's. My favorite pair is the 098-Ebony/Black/Purple that has a leopard print in black. The sole is softer but the arch is more supportive. The shoe is designed for a neutral foot, so if you tend to pronate you should select a more supportive shoe. The upper is soft, but the laces are too short. That is saying something because my feet are narrow and boney. I lack the normal padding people are supposed to have under their feet. When I was a runner I used to tie my laces double and wouldn't be able to do that with the Ghost 14. A few years ago I fractured my foot in a number of places and it is still uncomfortable to have any shoe fit tightly across the top of my foot. I can just barely tie the laces if my foot isn't swollen and not at all if it is swollen or more sore. Something to keep in mind if you have a more normal sized foot that has some padding under your heel and balls of your feet (metatarsal heads) or a wider foot. I contacted Brooks to see if they had longer laces that matched my shoes I could purchase. They do not. I was referred to an online shoelace store. The shoe with the leopard print has purple leopard print laces, so I will not be able to find those to match. Brooks really needs to use longer laces for the Ghost 14. A buyer shouldn't have to buy new laces that actually fit (but are not the same material and style) from a secondary market, especially at the price point of Ghost. The laces and less cushion than the 13 are the reason for the 4 rating.
