So, Im a little fit and a little fat, 5' 10" and 220 lbs. My feet are extremely sensitive and I've tried sooo many different shoes for walking and light jogging but nothing felt right. The Caldera was a game changer, Ive bought 2 pairs of this 6 and now just bought the 7. I feel nothing in my feet, ankle, knees, etc. I truly feel like I'm jogging on air. My dog appreciates it since we can go on slow jogs and long walks without getting grumpy. Best shoe I've ever bought

I've tried quite a few shoes in recent months for 100k to 100 mile distances. The Caldera 6 is the absolute winner. You can cruise for many kms in them and have no foot pain afterwards. Whilst the stack is very high, I don't find them any more unstable than shoes like the Speedgoat. The upper is simple but effective. They also drain well after going through water. The best feature is its outsole rubber which is extremely grippy on smooth wet rocks and slabs, unlike the awful grip on the Saucony Xodus Ultra.

A great shoe for mixed trails/road but not one for technical trails. After three +30km runs on mixed but straightforward trails (grass, mud, hard pack) I decided to try the Caldera 6 on a +5hr technical trail. After 2hrs i had to lace in a heal lock and after three hours i was starting to get blisters on my toes. I found I was getting too much movement in the toe box with aggressive downhill running. I found the extra width on the outsole caught on things which was annoying, something that you could get used to by adjusting running style to accomodate. Interestingly the shoe saved me from an ankle roll, it was like magical guardrails appeared. Pretty cool. I really like the shoe but will only use on long parkland type runs going forward.

I love my Caldera 6s. My favourite running spots have rough tracks. I used to feel the rocks and roots and have to think more than I wanted on where I put my feet. Not anymore. With my Caldera 6s I just glide over the top of the terrain like a hovercraft. These are tough runners, too; made of materials that can handle scrapes and squelches.
After MONTHS of trying to find the right trail shoe, I have found trail shoe Nirvana with the Brooks Caldera 6. I had used the Caldera 4 and loved the fit, but there was not enough cushion. The Caldera 5 was terrible, so I really had to debate whether to try the Caldera 6. I am so glad I did! I have wide forefeet and a bunion, but the men's 91/2 size fit perfectly, gave me plenty of room in the toebox, and an excellent overall fit. I love wearing them for both trails and road, walking or running. Previously I had used the Hoka Stinson (lots of cushion, but felt like I was running in sand) and the Hoka Speedgoat (shallow toebox and too firm).I have a medium arch and these were great. Just enough stability, comfy cushion without overdoing it, and just overall bliss! ... MoreAfter MONTHS of trying to find the right trail shoe, I have found trail shoe Nirvana with the Brooks Caldera 6. Now please make a road shoe with similar dimensions, okay??
Was looking for a good stable shoe for trail running and R2R. Came across the Brooks Caldera 6 Trail by chance and it was on sale. Told myself just take a chance as I need super cushion and these days that comes at a heavy price. I've used competitors shoes at a much higher price only to have them break down after 150-200 miles. I'm just not into $1 a mile running. I like a wide shoe and roomy toe box but need stability. When I first put them on I thought wth is up with these as the bottom felt stiff but as I ran across the room I could feel the cushion. Hit the trail which is a mix or rock and blow sand and did 10 miles with no issues. I just bought another pair for when these give out.
Hands down one of the best shoes I've ever bought. I've got plantar fasciitis and these, along with my prescribed orthotics, give me the most comfortable ride I can hope for. The grip is perfect for the dreaded West Australian pea gravel (just imagine walking on marbles everywhere). The softness is amazing, but I find on extremely rough terrain, such as rock climbing, my foot tends to roll in the crazy soft cushion. But at least this shoe gets me out there!
I was excited to receive my third pair of Calderas. I ran on the 2's and the 4's. I also ordered the 5's, but had to return them, as they were far too narrow, and Brooks reduced the toe box and sole width. The 6's were the same. For some reason, Brooks has notably reduced the toe box, making them very narrow and tight. This is the D width, the same that I ordered with the 2's and 4's...which were my first and favorite trail runners. Being narrow in front simply reduces the feel of stability and makes my foot strikes feel off. I put the soles from the 4's up against the 5's and 6's, at there is a substantial reduction in sole material in the 5's and 6's. The sole itself is still very grippy though. They also increased the drop of the shoe from 4mm to 6mm.That may not ... MoreI was excited to receive my third pair of Calderas. I ran on the 2's and the 4's. They also increased the drop of the shoe from 4mm to 6mm.That may not sound like much, but there is a noticeable difference in feel, making me feel more pushed forward, especially when running down hill. This resulted in knee pain after only running on them twice. Pain which has gone away since running on my old Caldera 4's. This is my fault for not researching the specs before ordering online. So, I've reluctantly had to try something different, the Hoka Speedgoat...we will see how that goes. The huge plus here is the 90 day satisfaction guarantee offered by Brooks. I was able to return the runners, no questions asked...so, although I was disappointed with the changes of the shoe, I can't complain with a strong return policy like Brooks has.
Really pleased I purchased these Brooks Caldera 6 shoes. All of my current running shoes are Brooks; and these fit great. They feel a little heavier, but that’s to be expected. Over rough stoney ground, uneven grass tracks and roads, they performed really well. Very comfy and my feet were well protected. I’ve yet to try them out on a really long run, but they felt good over 10k. Great value and prompt delivery from Start Fitness - and I even like the colour.
Superbe cushioning!I have flat feet, so finding shoes that stay comfortable and don’t hurt my feet is tricky.Been wearing these for a few months with great results. As a frequent walker, these shoes are perfect for me. They seem tougher than regular running shoes and are wearing well. Bought a second pair because of how comfortable they are!
