An All-Time Great Shoe In New Color Choice (s)?

I've relied on this shoe since I first had plantar fascitis, and it's still my go-to, super comfortable shoe, with or without orthotics,. Best support of any athletic shoe I've tried. AND the suede model addresses the smooth-leather limitation of only two colors. I didn't much regret when they stopped making the lace-ups in bone, because it's not a useful color for me, but I was DELIGHTED to see this gray suede model and look forward to continuing color choices. What about a tan or khaki one?

Caused Static and Had Minimal Arch Support (Used In The Hospital)

I am unsure if it's just these pairs of shoes or what. But, they cause a lot of static and don't have enough arch support. I got these to wear around the operating room (I work in the hospital) and they kept causing static which would cause me to shock anyone or anything I touched. Also, due to the minimal arch support, my feet get tired and sore easily. Like I said, I am unsure if it's just my pair or in general. I plan on returning them.

I'm giving it a higher score than I would like, mostly because they fit and don't hurt my feet. Addiction is not my first choice. Ariel is, or I should say, was. I started wearing Ariel maybe 15 years ago. Over time, the design was changed until they became unwearable. It seems that you are now doing the same thing with Addiction -- making them unwearable. I'm guessing you are trying to make them more secure on the foot -- which kills my neuroma. Before I switched to Addiction, I retrieved my broken down Ariels and padded them with extra pads and gel pads. Can't you just come up with new colors and stop redesigning them? The worst thing you did was sew up the tongue -- I cut them to be able to walk without pain.I'm very close to returning to the original running ... MoreI'm giving it a higher score than I would like, mostly because they fit and don't hurt my feet. Comfortable and Awesome
14 April 2023

This shoe is awesome. The fit is perfect and my foot feels secure and does not slip around since there is ample cushioning in the top and sides of the shoe. The laces stay tied for as long as I wear them. The bottom of my foot is pain free as I walk as there is a cushioned support under every part of my foot.My foot feels protected. I broke the bone in the top of my foot about 30 years ago and have developed arthritis and a painful bump at the point of the break. In these shoes, because the tongue is nicely padded, I feel no pain or irritation even after walking all day.I’d like to have another pair, that’s how great these shoes feel on my feet all the time..walking, running errands, jogging, climbing stairs, sitting relaxing!

Good for walking!
2 November 2022

Good walking shoes. Glad to have the addiction walker in something other than black or white, but would love more colors and less clunky style, if that's possible. I did have to go up a size. I have some foot issues but love to walk, and these work -- yay! (Running shoes are too soft.) I walk a couple miles a day but would not use these every day because my feet need to change shoes. (Most of your detailed questions relate to running, so I could not respond to those.) I use these in good spring or fall weather on the sidewalk.

Great walking shoe
31 January 2023

I am not a runner but a serious walker with not great feet. I am always looking for the next great shoe and these fit my needs. Shoe companies are always “redesigning” their shoes which keep me constantly trying to find another supportive shoe. I’ve read that they might be heavy but I have not found that to be true. Great shoe! Will definitely be ordering more. Don’t redesign these but make them in more colors.

Run a half size smaller than otherBrooks style shoes
10 June 2023

I love the shoe style and feel except this she must run small. My toes are cramped. I always buy 9.5 size Brooks shoe but this time the size is too snug. Because I never have problems like this with Brooks which I buy religiously, I wore them outside on a long walk before I realized they were too small. So now I am stuck with them. I guess I will go back to the prior style shoe I have always ordered.

The Brooks Addiction Walker Suede and Me: A Love Story!
1 May 2021

The Addiction Walker Suede is the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned! I have debilitating foot pain when I am barefoot or dressed in anything else. I am very overweight and stand long hours for work. I have worn the Addiction Walker Suede every day for 10 months, washed them once (only because I started wearing them without socks and they got smelly), but they still are I holding up beautifully, look nice, and are comfortable and supportive despite the extra abuse I put them through. I usually tend to over-pronate in shoes. Even after 10 months of daily use, there is very minimal to ever-so-slight pronation in the Addiction Walker Suede. I don’t make a lot of money, but I would still buy this shoe even if it cost several times it’s listed price. I also own the leather Addiction Walker I that I use for my side jobs as usher for a NHL and a MLB team. This version of the shoe is also incredibly supportive and comfortable (but not as comfy as the suede). It is finally starting to wear down after 3 years of use in extreme weather and standing on concrete for hours at a time. I just purchased the Addiction Walker II yesterday and eagerly awaiting its arrival. I am crossing my fingers and hoping it is as comfortable as the suede version.PLEASE MAKE MORE COLORS AVAILABLE IN THE SUEDE 2E WIDTH! I would purchase them all. I tried buying the men’s version of this shoe but you didn’t have my equivalent size in men’s in 2E width (women’s size 9/men’s 7.5). It was too narrow. I kept it and I hope it stretches in time.

Very Impressed. Was able to take my life back and enjoy walking again. I can't even feel the major issues with my feet when wearing
24 February 2023

I am getting ready to buy my 2nd pair only because one shoe ran off, but I love the shoes. I had been going to a podiatrist because I was having trouble bearing weight on my left foot because of my size and a huge, calloused area under my foot, issues with my great toe, arthritis, and a rotating ankle joint. a new pair of shoes sometimes would not last me a week because of the pronation issues, but these shoes took the pressure off the calloused area and helped my ankle and I have been able to go walking again without the pain or having specially made orthotics. Wish there were more colors. They hold up well.

X-Wide is NOT! And 4E is not even made, why not????
14 January 2023

Even in X-Wide, these are too narrow. The sizing is just wrong. They are not a true extra-wide shoe. Brooks X-wide is very narrow and not the same as X-wide in other brands. The shoes are also too shallow for an orthotic or even an insole like Powerstep Pinnacle. Your foot will slip out of the shoes. Since Brooks sizes their widths on the very narrow side, they need to make these in a 4E, not just a 2E. Would that be so hard? I cannot understand why they don't make this in 4E. It might be wearable for those of us with wide feet then. Bottom line: Brooks, your shoes are TOO NARROW!!
