Britax Boulevard ClickTight Car Seat with Nanotex and ARB Anti Rebound Bar

We have had two Britax Boulevards for over two years. We are now moving our older kid into a harness booster and flipping the Boulevards back to the rear facing position for our baby who is almost one. We have used other car seats and love the Boulevard. It is pretty easy to install correctly and tightly with the clicktight. We have the anti rebound bars for rear facing and like the extra safety. I have taken these seats in and out of many a cars and also washes the covers a ton of times. They clean up very nicely and have seen a lot of stuff but still look great. Definitely get the fabric that you can machine wash and dry. I picked Britax for its safety. This seat is like a tank. I feel confident putting my kids in it but it is not light or small. A hard pass for us

Pro: Looks good, easy to install, fool proofCon: sub par saftey ratings compared to others, no padding on kiddos back... seems uncomfortable at best and dangerous at worst.It is very easy to install; however AFTER i purchased it I found the crash test ratings to be sub par (easy to find online) compared to other seats. Was really disappointed and the thing is heavy as heck so didn't attempt to return. As well I sent a note to britax and never heard back.ALSO the wife hated the fact that there is basically NO padding for the back. I actually wondered if something was missing. Buyer beware

We have had this car seat for a little under 2 years. Our toddler was complaining that her back was hurting and when we inspected the seat we noticed that the foam head piece in both sides were broken and slipping down. I reached out to britax to try and get a replacement head piece. Unfortunately, they refused to offer a replacement piece due to it being discontinued and offered 20% off a new car seat. Considering the expensive price tag and the fact that this car seat is advertised to grow with the child we are very disappointed with not only the customer service but the sustainability of this product.

Smells like a permanent marker

Opened the new seat up, smell of chemicals was extremely strong. Let the seat sit for a week to off gas, tried washing the cover. Let it sit for 2 more weeks. Seat still smells, cover made in tailand. Spoke with customer service who would not return for money back. Return process for a new one is terrible. Lots of time and money wasted. Bought this seat to avoid flame retardants. Should have tried Clek.

Solid seat that’s easy to use and installs easily

The only small issue I have between stretches when I use it is that the harness release button is sort of inside the seat itself and is NOT the clicktight release mechanism. I think since it’s visible, it’s where my hand wants to go. Thankfully it must be turner and not pushed, so I don’t inadvertently uninstall the seat.(First and second pics show rear-facing installation with accessories mentioned, third pic is the harness release lever being depressed in relation to the clicktight opening mechanism.)

When I opened my Britax Boulevard ClickTight Convertable Car Seat the first thing I noticed was how beautiful and luxurious the contour green color was! The fabric itself is really lovely and sturdy.I went right to the instruction manual which was well written and easy to follow along. I read the entire manual first and then went to install. I was feeling confident with how easy it was described to install. The first installation was not a breeze. I found (and still do find) it challenging to push/pull the incline adjustment button but once you do get it pushed the seat moves quickly between inclines. My first time installing I also had trouble pushing down the seat to click in. Potentially due to the incline, I found that the edge of the car seat kept hitting the back of the vehicle seat and I had to use more force than anticipated to close it. That said, I have now installed and uninstalled it a number of times and have gotten more comfortable and found it easier to do. It certainly feels secure and the ClickTight feature is a dream!Beyond installation my daughter LOVES this car seat. She is constantly requesting to sit in it versus my old car seat. The seat takes up less room then our other car seat, allowing my husband (6 foot 4 inches) to be able to move his seat further back. My biggest complaint with the seat in action is that the wings near her head are very large. We were ready to move our 4 year old son to a forward facing seat, so it was perfect timing that I was given this convertible car seat to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I usually buy black/gray combos for car seats, but I received the blue contour, which is a nice change from the dark seats. I will say that it's more blue than it is showing on my computer screen (I included a picture of it in the sunlight for you to see). I also love that there's no added flame-retardant chemicals - that's important to me with such young kids.Installation was really easy. The ClickTight technology is amazing! This allowed me to easily loop the seat belt through and install the car seat. After the seat belt was looped and tightened, I pushed the seat back down and it snapped into place.Buckling my daughter into the car seat was easy as well. However, the one small issue I had was pushing the button to loosen the seatbelt harness when removing my daughter. It was kind of tough/annoying to push the button, but only a small issue. Another issue I had was the lack of cup holders. My kids always had snacks or drinks in their cup holders in their previous car seats, so the lack of cup holders was a bummer because my daughter had no where to put her snack or drinks on longer car rides.I only used it in one position and rear facing, but it was very easy to switch the seat to different position and adjusting the headrest was simple also. I love that the seat can be adjusted to so many position and also be used rear-facing and forward-facing, so I’ll be able to use it for a very long time.

The mechanic for the opening of this section requires a twist of a lock, which a child would never be able to do, so it would be nearly impossible for it to ever open up without an adult needing to do so. The instructions that come with it give you different options for what you can use to install the seat so you should definitely read it prior and know which method you are using! We had not done this and it took longer than it needed, but whenever we have to move the seat in the future, we will be able to do it in a few minutes.The fabric of the seat shout high quality! They are soft and durable but most importantly, washable! Since we have a toddler who now loves to snack on the go…washable is key! The insert of the seat is called contour gray. It is a lighter gray than our previous seat and I’m excited that it will not show every single spill as our darker car seat previously had. The seat is missing one important feature if you have an independent little one like I do…cup holders! I have since looked and you can add accessory cupholders. The seat width is comfortable for a child, and it is more streamlined than seats that have built in cupholders. If you have a smaller vehicle or multiple seats, this is probably a plus! You will not have to spare safety and comfort for a smaller width seat. Another plus for security is the flame-retardant fabric!Overall this has been a great addition to the needs of our family…the clicktight seat belt feature is by far our favorite! Car seats are all about safety and this has that plus a great look and feel!

I looked into the technology/safety testing and this car seat is one of the safest on the markets which is so important to me. I love that you can use it from 5 lbs +, it doesn’t seem like it would accommodate a baby that small but it totally does and can be used for years after as it is convertible. The fabrics on this are both easy to clean, washable, and also cushy feeling and comfy for baby. It’s also not treated with flame retardant chemicals which I appreciate as it’s hard to find car seats that are less chemically toxic. I like that it included the optional anchor for added safety. Even with all of the features, it still manages to look sleek and modern. The click tight system (my favorite part!) makes it so easy to install and it saves you the pain of having to manually tighten it with the seat belt. I’ve moved this to and from different cars several times! And despite its bigger size, I was able to install it in a sedan without any issue at all. The only potential negative about this car seat that I can foresee as I haven’t had experience with this yet would be traveling with it by plane as it is bulky and heavy. I’m sure it can be done but I’d be a little intimidated trying to go through the airport processes with this type of car seat. But that is a very small and workable con for how overall amazing this car seat it.
