Breville The Soft Top Luxe 1.7L Kettle - Peach Parfait

Wish I had of found reviews to read on this before I bought it. The main thing for me was I bought it for my gran whose eyesight is diminishing and in the pictures it looks a different colour and easy to see the water level. This is not the case at all! It is actually quite hard to see how full it is. Also the actual colour of the kettle is not the same as the pic at all. It is actually a very dark blue. Would not of spent this much money on it if I knew these facts first.

Disposable crap

We bought this kettle and matching toaster prior to moving into our first home. We loved the luxurious aesthetic and feel. Unlike some other people in the reviews, I felt the colour was accurately depicted with the exception of the water gauge which is just ridiculous in the online image. It is correct you can barely see it. After a couple of months, the silver coating started to peel off the “chrome” parts of the kettle so we returned it for a replacement. Now we’re about a year into the replacement and the actual blue coating as started to peel and bubble around the lid. An absolute waste of money.

Great Reliable Kettle

This is my second Soft Top, I've repurchased it because they are great, I have never had a problem with them. Not the quietest kettle I have ever owned, but they boil quickly, easy access to refil and the window makes it easy to see the water level. My original is still working but starting to look a bit shabby, not sure, but I think it is more than 10 yrs old. Only thing with the new one, it isn't Black as described, it is more a dark metallic gunmetal. That's why I give it a 4. I'll get used to the new colour, but I would have preferred it to be Black as described.

It boils water

Bought this a few weeks ago as our existing kettle was leaking though the side-view window. The Soft Top Luxe is a nice upgrade, but like other reviewers have noted, it is a little on the noisy side.The colour is pleasant and fits in well with our kitchen and it looks quite modern and timeless. I am a little apprehensive about the single mounting point for the handle, opposed to a two point fixed handle. Time will tell as to how well the single-point holds up to use and if/when it fails...Again, like others have noted, the side-view window is abysmal and you can't see the water level well at all. Love brevilles products, but lid on kettle needs improvement!

I bought this kettle and we love the functionality and the quietness of it. I've always loved the quality of Breville products including their milk frother too. My friends and partner are also loving the brand and their products they offer.I've also been a loyal customer of Breville amongst all other brands for over 20 years.Last night the lid on my kettle malfunctioned and I have reached out to one of their friendly and diligent contact centre staff Sfundo, looking after my case on the lid. All other parts are working and keen to get it fixed due to sustainability reasons in today's environment. Looking forward to getting the kettle fixed as I'm using sticky tape in the meantime to hold the lid down!

I absolutely love 🤍my Sea Salt Soft Top Luxe kettle! There is nothing I would change after being dissatisfied with every other kettle I’ve purchased for several years! It is stylish, with a stainless steel body and all BPA free components. It boils quickly and quietly and turns off with a ‘ding’. It arrived promptly and safely, and I will definitely recommend it to family and friends. Thank you Breville!

Not happy jan

Purchased the Breville soft-top kettle, but the lid doesn’t work as advertised. I have to press the button several times for the lid to open, and when closing the lid, there is a scratchy rough sound which I know is not normal. My previous kettle was a Breville soft top, so bought another in good faith it would have the same attributes, which is not the case. Brought this to the attention of customer support 12-3-24 and still toing and froing in between emails with no resolution. Keep getting response that their team is experiencing a high number of e-mails and the response time may be delayed. Mmmmm not impressed!

Quality item

The kettle itself is great. It has a soft open and makes a little "ding" once it's finished boiling. The solid metal handle makes it feel premium and it looks great next to its sister toaster. The colour however is misleading. I purchased this kettle expecting it to be black as it stated in the name but instead it was a dark metallic colour. Turns out there is another variation that is actually black so just look carefully because I had some difficulty returning this item because it was purchased on clearance.

Review of Soft Top Kettle

We bought this Breville product just over a month ago, and at the time did notice the Kettle's heaviness when empty. It doesn't affect us, but anybody suffering from joint pain, for example arthritis will find holding the Kettle whilst filling it difficult.At first it seemed to take longer to boil the maximum amount of water, but overtime and being used on a regular basis, the time has reduced but not significantly. The electrical cable is a good length to be able to position the Kettle on the kitchen bench.We are pleased with the Kettle and would recommend this product in comparison to our previous cheaper priced Breville Kettle.

Very stylish & easy to use

Really liking my new Breville kettle. Love the blue colour. It was a little pricy but that was my choice. It boils quickly and the soft touch lid and handle are very safe as well. This kettle will not cause any hot water damage to you or your kitchen bench. My only suggestion for improvement is that I was used to one of the all glass Brevilles before this and the little water windows on this model easily get condensation on the inside and can make it more tricky to see the water level. This is a minor issue only. We use this kettle multiple times per day and it is fantastic and stylish.
