Braun Silk-epil 5-620 Wet & Dry Epilator

I have never used an epilator before, but I recently decided to go for it! The first time you try it, it will definitely hurt... A LOT. Especially if you don't wax and you don't experience that type of pain often. Because it is essentially like waxing, it pulls out each hair one by one. I like it better than waxing because you have more control over when to stop the pain. As I was saying, it hurts so much!! My leg was shaking the first time I tried and I couldn't even get through both of my legs. A week later I exfoliated and tried it again and it was significantly more bearable than the first time. I think with enough time, it gets easier and easier. And it is really worth it to bear through the pain in the beginning if from there on out, the hair grows back less ... MoreI have never used an epilator before, but I recently decided to go for it! The other attachments include a shaver head, trimmer, and massage head. The massage head is great for a beginner. I also used the shaver but I didn't love it too much. It doesn't get a close shave. So I can only imagine how much hair it takes off with the trimmer (I haven't tried the trimmer yet). Between all the components it comes with, the epilator is the best part, just get through the pain and do it long enough to see the effects! its worth it!

A Fantastic Epilator

I am 3 weeks into owning this epilator and have so far used it on my lower legs, armpits and bikini area. It is incredibly painful(!), however, it is also easy and highly effective. The instructions are easy to follow and the kit itself is simple and of high quality. I used the the shaved head included before using the epilator so that my hairs were at the recommended length for removal. I think it is brilliant that this is included in the set as you will use it and need it. I do think the shaved head is useful but it was not the most efficient I have used, I had to stop and clean the hairs out repeatedly and it was slow to get through an area on my body. My hairs have started to grow back 1. 5-2 weeks later, but noticeably thinner than before (similar to the effects of waxing). I have course black hairs naturally so I am very happy with this. This epilator is great and a cost effective 1-time buy hair removal solution. My new and permanent hair removal method.

A Little painful but so Satisfying!

I have never used an epilator before, so I was pretty terrified honestly. I will say that the directions and all of the different pieces were a little baffling at first. I finally figured out which head was recommended for me as a beginner. I used it the first time in the shower and YES it was definitely painful as is to be expected! After a few passes my body's natural pain killers kicked in and it wasnt so bad. By the time I moved on to my other leg, I was actually kind of enjoying it LOL. One tip I learned was not to move too fast if you are using the first speed setting.. just slow down.Also, for the first time you will most likely miss some hairs. I have not gotten up the nerve to try the epilator on anything besides my legs yet.I will say that the little bikini trimmer is absolutely useless. I found it to pull out more hair than anything.So far, I am on day five since my initial use and still no hair growing back in yet. If you have a higher pain tolerance, you will be fine.. if not, maybe just have some drinks and do a little at a time.My only other request would be that they include a bag to keep all of the parts and pieces together, but otherwise I will be using it all the time and I love it!

Effective product!

Some worked well, others felt like they were slowly tearing your skin off.This is one of the best epilators I've used. It has two speeds, on the fastest speed it removes hair quickly and you don't have to go over the same section a lot. The size of the epilator is very nice, it fits comfortably (almost like it's ergonomically designed) in your hand. My only complaint is if you put too much pressure around the power button it wants to shut off. But once you're aware of the issue you can adjust your grip accordingly. First Time User, Now Hooked

While I have used electric shavers before this was my first time using an epilator. I will fully admit, I was a touch intimidated. After receiving it I readily used the shaver and and bikini styler (that is going to get a TON of use come summer) and they both worked like a dream. Gentle, easy to use with great results!

One for shaving and one for epilating. Charged the unit for an hour and was ready to go! Having never used an epilator before, I decided to ease into it. I started simple, just using the shaver. You can use the epilator attachment on either dry or wet skin. Prepped for the epilator, my legs were moist with water and shave lotion. Non- slip grip is helpful while using in water. There are two settings, which are easily accessed by pressing once or twice. Setting one was my choice, for a more gentle experience. I placed the device onto my skin with no pressure. Starting at the bottom of my leg, working my way up, the Braun Silk Epil 5 glided along my hair growth at a 90 degree angle. I worked my way up slowly and as instructed, stretched the skin of the area being epilated. By doing this, I successfully avoided pinching my skin. There is also an indictor light, SensioSmart that illuminates red if you're pushing too hard, which is a helpful guide as well. For my first time, I must admit, I'm really pleased with the results! I didn't find it to be that uncomfortable. It felt like tweezing, but fast and accurate. New to epilating, or experienced, I say, give the Braun Silk-epil5 a try!

Hairless legs

This is the first time I've used an epiltor, I normally just shave, so I was quite excited to try this out, especially with the better weather on its' way, when I might actually wear dresses again. The razor itself is a lovely size, very easy to hold and control, not bulky like I thought it might be. It needed charging before I used it, which was fine, I just left it plugged in for about an hour and a half and left it. It has a speed setting for extra gentle hair removal which was I decided I would try first, not being used to it, and it worked well. Really impressed with this epilator, it was easy to use, plug in, put the correct head on and chose the speed setting. The light really helps to see any light or ingrowing hairs. Although it doesnt get the ingrowing hairs out due to being under the skin it does help you see them easier. The heads can be changed really easily and click when in place. The device is comfortable to hold and not slippy or heavy. Although attached to a cable/plug it's long enough to strech and move around the get to any hard to reach places. After removing the hair it did give me small red bumps on my skin where the hair had been removed. It wasnt painful after but a little uncomfortable during but you got used to it. It's super comfortable to use and straight forward to clean! It doesn't pull at your skin, (that's not to say epilating is painless, because it is painful especially if you are a beginner), but it's pretty minimal and gets all the hair quickly and I'm left with smooth soft skin. I appreciate the shaver attachment for when you rather shave to get those missed spots and don't feel like dealing with a tweeze like feeling to your areas.
