Bosch Gdx18v-1860cn Cordless Impact Driver, 1, 860 In-lb
The Bosch GDX18V-1860C Two-in-One Cordless Impact Driver/Wrench provides one tool for use with bits and sockets. It goes from impact wrench to impact driver fast. The two-in-one bit/socket drive increases both convenience and power. Bits can stay conveniently inserted when using deep sockets, and more torque is transferred directly thru the 1/2 In. square drive anvil. There is no more torque loss through socket adapters or broken socket adapters. The impact driver/wrench's efficient, powerful brushless motor produces up to 1,860 In.-Lbs. of torque and 0-4,100 impacts per minute. In addition to three speed/torque settings this impact driver/wrench also features special modes to prevent work piece and fastener damage. The presets include modes for self-drilling metal screws and wood screws. Additional modes and customizations for specific screws and materials can be set and saved to the tool via the Bosch PRO360 App (connectivity module sold separately). In reverse, with bolt mode activated, the Auto Bolt Release stops rotation when there is no load on the tool to prevent accidentally dropping bolts and nuts during removal. In addition to customizing settings and modes, connectivity (module sold separately), provides tool specific information and feedback. The variable-speed trigger provides accurate driving speed. It also has an LED light system to illuminate the work area.

I was really hesitating to purchase an impact driver where i have to use a smartphone. When I built my terrace, I completely changed my mind. I adjusted the wood screw mode in such a way that it perfectly shut off when the screw head reached the surface. Therefore i did not destroy the wood nor the the screw head. Great innovation! BUT - Please include the connectivity module since I had to purchase it seperately

This is a good all-around impact that's good enough to tackle most projects. The only thing I found off with it is that at times it'll just freeze/cease operation and even though you press the trigger nothing happens for perhaps a minute. It can be frustrating when everyone is waiting on you to secure something while they're holding it but it only happens once in a while and may just simply be an overheat timer. Sure it's not as powerful as 20v and 24v products but for 18v it still packs a punch and does its job fairly reliably other than those occasional hiccups.

I have both the GDX18V-1800C and the GDX18V-1600, both less than 9 months; neither got extensive use. One collet/bit froze together, could not remove the bit. Finally got it out, but now the collet won't hold anymore, nor does the collet on the other tool now, strangely enough; no assignable cause on that one. The frustration of climbing up and down the ladder to retrieve a bit yet again because it fell out of my Bo$ch Freak is becoming more than I can bear. Or maybe it's having paid $159 for the distinction that's finally doing me in. Add to that, the fact that most of my power tools are Bosch, currently.Other than these two little nuisances, the tools do work great. I want to like this impact driver a lot. It’s, quiet, efficient and has great battery life. Just not powerful enough for heavy duty work like driving in structural screws into engineered lumber. I tried using the “wood screw mode” to drive screws into engineered lumber and the screw would not drive all the way
Purchased this as a bare tool about a month ago through the Lowe’s website. Quick delivery and all OK on arrival. Having put this tool to light impact wrench duty and as a driver for framing screws (all in a DIY setting) I am very satisfied with performance. Tool is sturdy yet relatively light, and performs well on both newer 2.0 Ah as well as some older 1.3 Ah Bosch batteries.
The unit provides enough torque that my girlfriend can remove lug nuts from the car. She's impressed with the Impact Driver to the point of wanting one for herself and I'm caught coming up with reasons we only need one. Very handy, well balanced tool and apparently fun to use as well.
The brushless motor is smooth and quiet, yet powerful. I choose this model for the combination chuck: both 1/2-inch square drive and 1/4-inch hex drive, very clever. The trigger resistance and travel allow extremely fine speed control.
Thank you very much! Very nice product!
I see someone else here had this same problem and the response from bosch is that its uncommon? I doubt it. I had a bit get stuck in mine and after it finally released, it will no longer hold any bit in place rendering the tool almost completely useless. And that happened maybe the second time i used it, it literally still looks brand new.
Ive been using my freak impact driver for a few months now and lemme tell ya its just fantastic. Being able to throw a half inch socket on with no attachment saves alot of headache. The tool is weighted well so it sits in ghe hand nicely without feeling like youre keeping it from fallng forward. The sound is wonderful and being able to control the speed with the press of a button is phenomenal. Youd think the light coming from the base of the tool would be a hinderance but its not. It really illuminates the work space well. It is worth noting that although the connectivity module is an extra 20 bucks its well worth it if you want to set up the tool to drive specific fastners the right way every time. The customization and versatility really make this tool shine. I ... MoreIve been using my freak impact driver for a few months now and lemme tell ya its just fantastic.
