1 Star is too many - the polish is HORRIBLE

After allowing the polish to dry for a full 48 hours, paw prints started showing up days after I allowed my dog to walk on the floor. Thinking this was my mistake and I didn't let the polish dry long enough, I re-polished the floor about a month later and didn't allow the dog to walk on the floors for a whole week. The dog prints came back worse than ever and my floor had a strange grimy haze to it. All three hardwood floor companies I talked to said that other people have called them in the past seeking advice because of issues created with the Bona Polish. I have used several cleaning methods on my bamboo floors such as steam mopping, orange glo, and several other cleaners but everything I tried left streaks. The Bona cleaner did not. I used it according to the directions, I vacuumed first with my bare floor sweeper attachment, then used the Bona duster and then used the cleaning spray and cleaning pad. You need to dampen it first, it cleans better that way and continue to rinse it out periodically to prevent streaking. My floor was filthy but this cleaner did a great job. I have not used the polish yet so I can not review it. The mop that comes with the system worked well for me. I have read other reviews that said the mop broke. Overall, I am pleased with the Bona hardwood floor care kit.

The price on this was so low, I was skeptical at first. I bought it anyway, and this hardwood floor care kit has completely transformed my floor! It looks so clean and shiny for days after I clean it! It doesn’t have a strong chemical smell, which is important to me! I’m very impressed with this purchase!

I LOVE the Bona system! I have used the cleaner for a little over a year now but just received the entire system at my bridal shower. The wax is AMAZING!!! My wood floors have never looked so beautiful! They are glowing without being dangerously slick or oily. I have washed the floors twice since and the shine has not ceased! Cheers to a fabulous product!**I did have a party where a friend's dog had a "little accident" the day after I waxed the floor. The waxed area that was soiled did lose its sheen, however the wood was not damaged so it did its job! I did re-touch the area with wax the next morning and it blended with the rest of the floor perfectly and looks as if nothing ever happened :-) Crisis averted**

Don't use the Bona Polish!
18 February 2013

I am paying it forward. I have been using the Bona cleaner for a year now, and it works great. But I picked up the polish at the store thinking it was the same type of product - it says safe for hardwood floors. I used it and a day later, it left white, hazy streaks all over my floor. I of course, freaked out as our floors were very expensive and only a year old! I googled the problem and turns out this has happened to many, many people and apparently Bona knows about this problem, because they have a Polish Remover product, which removes the polish. I bought that, and its taken me three scrubs, and finally the floors are looking back to normal. So, DONT by the product, and if you do and you encounter this problem, dont worry, the polish remover will take it off. ... MoreI am paying it forward. DONT BUY THE FLOOR POLISH!UPDATE: after going over the floors three to four times with the polish remover and alternating with the cleaner, the polish cane off BUT the floor still had a subtle white haze to it. What removed that final remover is white wine vinegar on a dampened bona pad. Now the floors are finally back to how they looked before the floor polish ruined them!

Fabulous Results with High Gloss Polish
3 December 2017

After reading the reviews I almost did not get this floor system because I was concerned about all the negative comments about the polish. However, I took a chance and I am thrilled with the results. I wanted to buy this system specifically for the polish to create a glossier look. I followed the directions with using this system exactly as recommended (thoroughly vacuum, dust, clean with cleaner, let dry, then apply a pretty heavy coat of polish, then let dry before walking on it and no heavy traffic for 24 hours). My floor is only 3 years old (new construction home) and it looks better than it did when we first moved in. I only gave a 4 for quality of this product not because of the cleaner and polish but because the mop is flimsy and the cloths and duster really did not stick completely on the end of the mop. Also I was not that impressed with the feather type duster since it did not seem that effective in picking up dog hair. I also found that the polish is messy because the cap leaks and the polish comes out of the top pretty heavily and quickly when you are trying to apply it. My floors were installed and hand finished on-site so I am wondering if this may be the reason this system worked so well for me as it was not a prefinished flooring material. Still highly recommend despite the mop issue and issues with the polish bottle since I got such unbelievable results.

Horrible!
11 January 2015

I created an account on Bed Bath and Beyond just to write how bad this product is. One of the worst products I've ever purchased. The mop is garbage, but the worst part is the polish. It's not a polish. It goes on like clear acrylic paint. It's impossible to apply evenly which you don't realize till after it dries. The floor is covered in streaks. Any if you try to reapply it to uneven areas, it dries to a different shine so there's no way to ever even it out. As this prodcut is garbage, my hope is that it will fade after a couple of months. Please listen to the warnings others have posted. This product will ruin your floors.

Lousy Joke of a Product

I rarely review products I've purchased but I've just created this account at Bed, Bath and Beyond solely to share my thoughts about this very disappointing product I purchased at one of their stores. As an initial matter, the kit I purchased contained no instructions, and my search of the manufacturer's website revealed nothing useful there either. You wouldn't think this would cause an insurmountable problem, but it sure frustrated me because I haven't been able to use the mop for more than 30 seconds at a time without the thing falling apart. At first, I thought I must have assembled it incorrectly since I was flying blind with no instructions, but I've asked three friends who are infinitely handier than I am with such things to try their hands at it with ... MoreI rarely review products I've purchased but I've just created this account at Bed, Bath and Beyond solely to share my thoughts about this very disappointing product I purchased at one of their stores. The pad piece keeps falling off the handle, which makes it next to worthless. Moreover, the cleaning solution doesn't keep things clean for very long; in fact, it seems to attract dust and other things almost before I finish dusting or mopping or whatever I'm doing between having to change the pads repeatedly on the broken mop. Don't waste your money on this lousy product.

Not the Bona Kit advertised
7 October 2021

This item sold by Home Innovations is listed as the Bona Ultimate Kit including in the item description, but I only received a single bottle of floor cleaner. I contacted them and explained the issue. They sent another bottle of cleaner. They never responded to messages after that. Don't order if you are expecting to receive the ultimate bona kit from Home Innovations, you won't receive it.

almost worthless

The mop base that holds the pad is worthless! the only part that actually touches the floor is the part of the pad that is attached to the velcro on the bottom of the mop. The rest of the pad stays white and clean because it's not touching the floor at all. I physically had to get down on my hands and knees to clean the floor with the pad in my hands. The bottom of the mop needs to be flat so all the pad touches and cleans the floor
